@Requielle this thread is not about opinions on experiences with the game's Launch. It is to inform those who are worried about weather or not they will get 5 free days. Start a new thread about your opinions about CS, and ZOS decision to give people this.

Let me get right on that, random person who I don't know but is giving me orders.

@Thechemicals Please do not be offensive - I am not your 'deary' and actually I was talking from personal experience. Do not bother to respond to me further.
ZoS Ambassadors please do not bother responding to me because I have you on ignore. Your input is neither valued or welcomed.

If it went towards everyone then there is no need to mention subbing by tonight since everyone that registered for game would have active subscription

I think some folks delayed subbing because they didn't want their 30 days to be during the initial, possibly problematic month, but did pre-order for the bonuses. I think those are the folks who would need to subscribe by tonight to get the free time.

This thread and many others have been going on without any word from ZoS...so either they are trying to get us to fight or I believe it is going to happen that way.

If this was a thread about being unjustly punished for nothing (which happens a lot)...it would have been closed a long time ago.

They are hoping we remain productive with our discussions, so far this one is not bad but we are starting to get off topic. This tread is not about people's options on the launch, CS, or ZOS. It is to help inform people With questions or worries about the free 5 days.

Did they clarify on who gets it, since it's a hot topic right now. That says a lot on how I believe it will go tonight and who will get it...but they leave us to speculate on that strange statement they put out.

I think one of the biggest things people are asking for is more communication and not clarifying this hours later is a huge fail while people fight...or am I wrong?

If everyone that bought game and activated but then un-subbed is going to get the five days..then why are people fighting over it for hours now?

Wait up to 72 hours after 8 pm tonight before contacting customer support about this. Anyone with an active subscription and anyone enjoying their 30 days will be eligible.

Why does someone who hates the game and cancelled want 5 more days? You already hate the game what diff is 5 days going to make? Sounds to me like a LOT of people who claim they are quitting really love the game and arent going anywhere.

I'll stop you right there, since everything else you posted is built upon this rubbish. Not all who are cancelling their subscriptions "hate" the game.

My wife and I are cancelling, but it isn't because we "hate" the game. There are things we want to see fixed in the game, before we continue paying to play it. Once those issues have been addressed, we fully intend to re-subscribe.

    Now, you can continue...

I haven't gotten the e-mail yet, and frankly if I don't I won't be too upset. I haven't let the negativity on these forums make me hate ESO. To be honest, I think a lot of people who have decided to hate this game have done so because they don't understand MMOs or have been swayed by reports of problems here. I honestly believe a good number of these people would be totally unhappy if a few people weren't constantly bashing the game in the forums. Instead, they see a relative few people having problems and they start internalizing it, thinking the game is as bad as some people make it out to be. Advice: if you really aren't having a horrible experience in game but are starting to dislike it, try avoiding the forums for a while and see if you feel better.

And please, explain better - why couldn't you play the game because of the bank bug? I never heard of it actually blocking people from logging in.

Well the post in the Dev section seem more like a threat that if you don't re-sub by 8pm EDT you will not get it. This boils down to customer service and for everyone who bought the game....of course all the greedy players will say they only deserve it because they were loyal, and those who paid 60-80 dollars to play a bug ridden broken game for 32 days should just be glad that Zeni only took that much from you!

This wont go over well if it's the case

How do you see that? All you have to do is purchase the game and have an active account.

it has absolutely nothing to do with one hating the game. In fact, it can be argued that one loves the game so much that they are passionate enough to express their discontent on issues that will prevent them from actually playing a game that is part of a series they have grown to endure over the past 10+ years.

The latest patch update address some if not most of the issues that they are disgruntled about. I'd dare say some of them are more passionate and have an immense love for the game than a large percentage of the existing player base.

Its pretty simple. It says you must have an active sub. If you cancelled you do not have an active sub. These free days are for paying customers. Not people who just want a few extra days before they quit.

I suggest you read the notation.

As long as you can open your account page and see days remaining, you have an active account.

FTR... I fully support every word of @GreySix and his spouse on the matter.

Personally I am kinda upset about it. Just means we have to listen to these same people complain for another 5 days. I was really looking forward to may and all the "quitters" leaving. Of course Ill probably still see a lot of them since they arent actually quitting anyways.

I could log in, sure. To play "inventory management online". I tend to do a lot of in-game crafting in any MMO I play. The option of 'just discard everything' wasn't a viable (read: fun) option for me. And the fact that the bank could explode literally at any time (read: several people got wiped out more than once) meant I had no usable shared storage, and I had to turn my characters into bank storage.

Despite the rumors, playing a bank alt is not actually terribly fun. The bank bug may not have impacted some people's playstyle by much. It effectively meant, for me, that if I wanted to quest for an hour or so, I needed to set aside at least that much time to shuffling crap around in order to a) free up the character I wanted to play, and then b) re-sort whatever I acquired afterwards onto my other characters. The bank bug was, for me, a huge time-sink tax that sucked the fun right out of the game.

Oh, and as a free bonus, games with database insecurity are just kind of inherently unfun for me because I dislike the constant behind-the-scenes worry about what will blow up next.

If they decide that some customers are more equal than others in terms of being recompensed for lost time that said customers paid for by buying the game, they will insure that a whole bunch of on-the-fence folks don't resubscribe.

You may think there are only two camps of people... people who are going to subscribe no matter what, and people who are going to quit no matter what. You would be wrong - there is a 3rd camp of people who will decide their subscription status based on how well ZeniMax sorts out their various gameplay and customer service failures.

Didn't we have this discussion like a week and a half ago? This is the customer service board, the one most likely to have negative posts/replies because people come here to deal with broken/bugged parts of the game or customer service staff via ticket/ingame failing. They really need to get that general discussion board up and running so you can go have a land of rainbows and sunshine to read exclusively.

Sorry - no sympathy for people that bought an MMO for $60 - $80 and then ragequit because it wasn't perfect right out of the box. There hasn't been an MMO launch that has been perfect and I seriously doubt there ever will be. (Yes, somebody will trot out their memories of some game and two minutes of research will prove them wrong.) It's the nature of the beast and if you can't understand that you probably shouldn't have bought the game to start with. If you lack patience to wait as things get fixed (and they are - I had a friend who admitted he hadn't gone back to check a bugged quest - just complained it had never been fixed - when he went to do it he found out it was fixed.)
