I don't mind the other animals, what I don't like are the blinding colorful particle effects... galaxies in shape of animals to mount. I think Dwemer is as close as tolerant I am for a mount to have particle effects and lights.2 -

They knew it was a problem before, which is why they've been delayed for so long. I would even argue that the guar mount is more lore friendly than the majority, if not all, the other mounts in the Elder Scrolls.

I play ESO with my partner and think taxiing him around could be fun sometimes (more for roleplaying reasons than because of real necessity). So if the Dwemer spider isn't too expensive and I have some spare ESO+ crowns at the time of release, I might think about it.

Well, one example would be for PvP, where some players don't have all their stamina in a mount allocated. Same for PvE as well. A friend doesn't have all their stamina put into a mount just yet and wants a "quicker" ride to places.0 -

For me it's the ridiculous glowy, sparkly mounts that turn my stomach. That one in the current crown crate is way over the top. Is this Elder Scrolls or is this WoW?
This 100%. Guar mounts are unobtrusive and make sense lore-wise. The large mounts (like bears) look odd the faster they can run, but I like my bear anyway. But the glowy, sparkly insanity is, well, nuts. Particularly when you've got 10 people mounted outside crafting areas on the same mount epeening their new sparkly horsey. Really folks, you want everyone to see you and think, what, "oh look at that cool dude with the new gaudy mount that everyone else has too"?
Mounts like this made sense in WoW because of the over-the-top art style of Samwise and Metzen. They just look stupid here.4 -
Alastrine✭✭✭✭I could see a certain usefulness for this when playing with others who have a slow mount speed, as others have said.
As for companions.... ugh.... not sure if I'm the minority but I absolutely cannot stand the whole companion thing. IMO, the worse thing ever in the game. Can't do a dolmen, go through a delve or group dungeon without them everywhere, shooting at everything. Get a player with a Twilight, a Clannfear, and a companion and good luck almost getting a shot on anything at times lol. Trying to get a 'kills' daily endeavor in a small mob area? Then one or two players come in with their little army of adds and companions... yea, forget about it.
I just can't stand them. I play on 12 accounts (not characters, accounts). Not a single one of them will ever. Ever. Have a companion. If I can't do the minimal amount of work required that I can do a regular delve or group dungeon on my own I should quit. If I ever regard an npc tagalong as a 'buddy' I hope someone gets me help (kidding lol).... unless its Brynholf from the Skyrim Thieves Guild, I take it back in that case
Anyway, that's my rant about companions, sorry for the off-topic. Had to get it out.
I will pass on this mount, much as I'm a sucker for getting new mounts in this game.1 -
