Classes are fun but I think skill lines have more fun potential. Also I'm biased because I'd like to see alteration staff at some point before this game stops development

I strongly believe we need new classes because whatever skill line they'll add, it's just going to be another gimmicky toy that's gonna be played with until the fun ends, then back to meta builds.

Bard - Skills related to music.
I would love to see a Bard with a focus on buffing/debuffing auras rather than active skills.

Would also love a TRUE "ranger" class. Warden is kind of in that mold - with the ability to summon a dire bear, but TBH it feels more like a druid than a ranger.

A ranger class, to me, would have a decent summon, some stealth skills, and would be equally adept at ranged combat as it was in close combat. Perhaps a minor focus on some nature-themed healing skills.

Voting for Illusionist - but I'd expect Bard to be baked into it. Like some others, it's informed by how Mesmers behaved in the Guild Wars series. I also think the Spinners are storytellers that rely on some kind of illusionary magic, and since songs can also be stories, I can see where it'd blend well together.

I would like a class that has the water based skills like the final boss in Shipwright's Regret.

Waves, spouts, summon black flesh attro like thing, ride around on a phallic shaped water column, what else could you want?

Individual skill lines generally aren't very good. They have one or two useful skills but I never use more than one or two skills. Give me a full class with three new skill lines and let me play it for at least a year before it gets nerfed. Monk will be great.

A new class just means yet another set of three skill lines that are unobtainable to all existing characters. We do not need any new classes.

Battlemage - a robust class package could be tailored to do either battlemage or spellsword concepts, as there's some degree of overlap. Arguably, new skill lines (one handed, one-hand-and-spell, spell-spell, unarmed), or a combination of skill-lines and this class could cover these concepts better.

Barbarian - totems for power sources that could conceptually work for either stamina or magicka (shaman) builds.

Mage - traditional wizard class, focussing conceptually on illusion, mysticism, abjuration and destruction magic, which could mechanically fill various roles easily- tanks that rely on control magic (hypnosis, stun, whelm, sleep, charm, fury, paralysis could all conceptually handle the idea of taunts and chains) and wards (the classic ward series, maybe using magicka as the major mitigation resource, barkskin and the related -skin chain of spells) for mitigation, healers using wards and restoration school magic- and destruction (the long sought-after fireball, ice-spike, spark, flame, drain health) for traditional dps.

I really like the idea of a traditional, magic-eschewing, "trusty steel" warrior class, but I have trouble imagining what the ESO power source would look like.

IMO there’s not really room for new classes, right now at least. Warrior type stuff already exists, spell sword, etc. All of the other types of abilities are already represented. Except for bard or bare handed, but let’s be real, those are dumb in an MMO where weapon types matter so much.

I would much prefer to keep things more traditional Elder Scrolls. We've never seen a singing/musical bard class before; the bard from TES was more charismatic than anything, and still engaged in combat.

We've also never had a dwarven related class. I wouldn't be as opposed to this, but I would be disappointed if this happened before all the other classes were exhausted.

Choosing from the list, I think a warrior type could be fun, we lack a barbarian sort of brute that exists in fantasy. It can be achieved by weapons sort of, but would be more robust as a stand alone I think.

The same can be said for most of the current classes really, so perhaps ZoS has no care for the precedent set by the single player titles. I would much prefer we didn't have the class structure, and we would be able to mix and match magic/weapons a la Skyrim/Oblivion/Morrowind

I'd like to see a Duelist class.

I think ESO's current classes tend to have limited coverage of non-magical abilities and the magical abilities tend to feel a bit slanted towards brute force when it comes to magic rather than finesse.

If you're asking for a new class, maybe you need a new game? A new class wont paint the game in a new light so you can play it for thousands of hours more. You'll play it for 2 weeks, realise you've already played that and be done.
It's your point of view. There are other people who will enjoy it as if it was a new game.
Before Morrowind chapter announcement I've been hopping from Templar to DK, to NB, to Templar and actually didn't truly enjoy neither of them. However, I completed my alliance zones on each of them, played a lot of dungeons, well, basically I've been playing the game. IIRC I had like 900-1000 hours played total before Morrowind.
After Morrowind release Warden became my main and I have 2k+ hours played on that Warden character alone. And I really enjoyed completing my alliance zones again but now as Warden.
One of the two of us definitely has gone mad. It only remains to define whether this one is the whole world or just me.

None. I don't want any new classes because they've proven they can't even manage the existing ones correctly. Every other game out there today does class identity and power fantasy leagues better than what ESO has ever done. Even if ZoS did make a new class it would be marred by their backwards philosophy that class skills should inherently suck while they continue to buff the heck out of non-class skills that have paid skill line unlocks.

Definitely skillines. I want unarmed available to any class, not just some "monk" class.

The whole restricting skills, which has existed for decades in Elder Scrolls, to a specific class just goes against what Elder Scrolls is and has been for ages.

Many of the options here isn't really much of a thing in Elder Scrolls.
Bards? This is not DnD, bards either play actual music in inns, or they are a sub "class" category of skills which usually consists of blade, speech, mercantile, and illusion. Not playing actual music in combat.

Pirate? That's not a skill, that's an occupation who can fit any of the archetypes.

Warrior? We already got weapon skillines and Fighter's Guild. Suppose they could add some more physical skilline.

Dwemer expect? Yeaah, that's not very common and most of them don't make actual dwemer constructs.

I will always vote for more skillines to vary our characters more and make them fit our idea of them. Unarmed is probably one of my most wanted. It's such a classic TES skill. Getting a magicka skilline which either uses something else than a staff or hides it for a more "bare hands spellcasting" look would be nice too.
[Lie] Of course! I don't even worship Daedra!

Out of all the ideas I’ve thought of one just stands out, having the ability to have a dragon shout would be great for a new class and having the next class be a Greybeard would be an interesting way of tying TES 5 with ESO.

The way this might work is that the Greybeard would have a unique tutorial level exclusive to the Greybeard class and having them be exiled from the Greybeards by the end of the tutorial level.

One person or Dragon who would be around during this tutorial level would be Paarthunax. As he is unique to the Greybeards.

The player would learn many 3 shouts at the tutorial and many more afterward like Fus Ro Dah and several other ones that I can’t think up the top of my head.

So in the end I think that this would be a great thing to have and a great way to bring back shouts into ESO

I'd like to see a lawyer class. Stibbons is suffering abuse by Lady Laurent? Take her to court! Need to rescue a prisoner? Use a habeas corpus. Big baddie is preparing to cast something nasty? Interrupt with the "Objection" skill and set your opponent off-balance. To the dialogue options "Persuade" and "Intimidate" is added the class-specific "Litigate", in which the player threatens to unleash ruinous litigation upon the NPC if they don't comply. Shield your group with the "Cease and Desist" skill and reduce enemy mobility with the "Restraining Order" AoE.

Both new weapon lines that could be used by any class AND the Monk, which could actually be achieved via a new weapon line instead of as a new class. Something similar to the Ten Rings, or bracers, or something like that.

I think we have the most room for an engineer type class. I also would enjoy a hunter-like class where you could tame/swap out permanent pets. I like our pet classes but wish for more variety.

I actively do not want a bard class, even though I love all the musical aspects in this game, because I think support folks are not respected or appreciated enough in this game already and I can see ZOS trying to make the bard a buffing/debuffing class such that true healers and tanks get their roles further simplified and I would hate that so so so much. If it was a Bard that could serve in current DPS, healer, or tank end game roles as opposed to carving out a niche, I would be ok with that.

I really don't want another class until the fallout from AwA is addressed, though. Playing alts just is no fun right now.

Mirage - Skills based on tricking the enemy , illusions.
    I really liked these options.
Personally, the Mirage sparked the most inspiration. Like perhaps an Illusionist type of skill set.
I think all these probably work better as a skill line to be honest (and I think they all sound awesome as skill lines, except for Warrior maybe - perhaps a bit too generic)
The problem with classes, is you need to satisfy three skill lines – all combat related. Because at the end of the day, the classes are all based on how you want to fight, and you need to give the RP player a way of satisfying the three main rolls – Damage dealer, Healer, and Tank.
So, I’m not sure how a Mirage would tank, or how he would heal.
The Dwemer construct expert (Tinkerer), could perhaps have all skill lines based on constructs or weaponry.

    Damage dealers (constructs):
    Dwarven spiders similar to Shawk
Crossbow bolt, similar to Dive (I’m a warden on my main so that’s what I know best)
The centurion, similar to Bear (possible Ultimate?)

    Healers:
Like maybe a healing steam type effect.
Maybe a dwarven music player which can heal / buff

    Tanks:
Perhaps an “Iron Man” type suit you can summon
Maybe an irritating noise creating thing which will create a pull / taunt

I know I said Mirage but now I’m pulled towards Tinkerer!

    But for mirage,
Maybe another ability based on silence / invisibility
Maybe an ability to make enemies turn on each other
For PVP maybe quickly make friends look like foes and vice versa, so in PVP players turn on each other in the confusion (that would be so much fun!)
Maybe something to cause temporary blindness in PVP

It’s great fun thinking of all these things!
