I'm sticking around. Yes the downtime is a pain but it is because they are fixing things. We rage if they take the servers down to fix things and we rage when they don't fix things - doesn't make sense.

Have a little patience. It really is early days still. The fundamentals of the game are pretty good and the world environment is amazing. The bot plague isn't caused by Zenimax and I'm sure they know how vital it is to stem it. The bugged quests are a pain but bit by bit they are being worked on.

So enjoy what you can and take a deep breath and walk off and do some crafting when you get stuck or roll another alt - I have 4 so far.

It will all come together in the end and be worth it.

I, personally, have had a few periods of waiting which have been frustrating. I feel I've lost several days worth of play, since I can only play at certain times.

I've also experiences about 5-7 times of bad lag as the servers couldn't keep up (EU).

I've also experienced login issues being told my account was not allowed to connect, but after trying for the third time I got in.

I've also experienced mass-botting stopping me from getting rewards from dungeon bosses.

    /SWITCH

I have experienced customer service (GMs) respond to my query within 20 minutes.

I have had relevant communication from the Server Status forum.

As a techie, I'd like more information, but I understand why it doesn't need to be all detailed. Half-hourly updates would be suitable if you run over maintenance times.

I have seen GMs making an effort, at the least, to come and have bots pointed out. I have also had communication to the effect that people I have reported for gold spamming have been dealt with.

So, overall, I'm not in a frightful tizzy like some, but I'd like to see some improved forum communication, particularly when maintenance is overdue. I'd also like to see more botting destroyed by removing the ability to win rewards from a boss-mob after having won it once.

Generally, I've been quite happy. A few tweaks to make certain drops (enchantment) aid in levelling certain skills would be good.

unsubbing if the EU server issues doesnt get better. Lag and downtime, always longer than EU.

already did, very quick and polite customer support when i did this too. There is clearly a huge problem with cyrodiil. Im here mainly for RVR, i dont want to watch loading screens all the time, or watch the grp members crash out randomly when joining as well as the huge stutter every now and then when ppl join/leave a grp. Add to that all the random crashing the client does in RVR. Never been too happy with the dumbed down console ui either.

    Game is great.

No! It is not! Have you played any other games??? There is nothing great about it. It has the potential to be great, but it has had that potential since the beginning of beta, or actually, since the beginning of development. The game is a fail on so many levels. It's incomplete, released early and unfinished due to greed. This is what Bethesda does. Take Morrowind, awesome game, so full of content and playability. Then oblivon, not so good, released with lots of the features we loved from morrowind missing. Then Skyrim.... yeah Skyrim, if it wasn't for the modding community, it would be the most disappointing ES game yet. So I was hardly surprised when Bethesda released ESO unfinished, un-polished and incomplete. It's their track record now.
This game was released on the strength that it was eagerly anticipated. Note the lack of a free trial at release? That's because they knew it was a bug ridden lag infest stack of brown stuff that should never have left beta, but they didn't care about that, they cared about money. If I had played a free trial then I, like many others, would have had serious doubts about paying for it. People who had not participated in beta had no choice but to buy the game. People who were true blue elder scrolls fans who have stayed faithful to the series despite it's many shortcomings sometimes. They have been cheated! £40 - £60 for this? I actually feel robbed. I work hard for my money! Was it too much to expect Bethesda and Zenimax to work hard for my money too by supplying me with something worth the expense?
As to the OP, I am undecided as to whether I will continue to sub. I don't want to, but I do believe the game could be great. That is the strength of my loyalty to the elder scrolls series. It seems it is asking too much to have that loyalty returned and repaid though if this is the best offering that they could give.

If the game is great for someone how can you say it is not? It is not for you that's for sure, but don't tell others what they should think. I can "feel" your anger and frustration, but for a reason or another, some people actually enjoy this game, even with some problems. I feel sorry for you if you feel the game is lacking in so many areas, but if you played the Beta(?) and after that bought the game, how did you not see the "failure" before?
And a note, every company wants money, how on earth they would survive if not. Greed, well, that's your own subjective thinking and can't change that.
Seriously, what's SO wrong? Downtimes, okay there have been quite a few, but I prefer (look, I, don't have to agree) fixing bugs as quick as possible and not always waiting for "everyone to agree on a downtime". It is a complex game that's for sure and if there is a need for downtime, so be it. There are limits to this (whatever they might be), but in my opinion we are no where near that.
Then again, people need to have the way to express their opinions, even if very negative. That said,
take care and good that you already said at least "could be great" :) ,

    Cheers...

I care about this game, which is why I will stick through my 3 month subscription. But....I WILL NOT accept the EU servers being in the middle of a *** desert in Texas for 3 months. If they are not moved to the proper place (Frankfurt, DE) by the end of 3 months, I am gone. I have 160 ms latency during non prime time to TX, and over 400 during peak times. Uhh, a "why unsub" thread? So you really want me to list all the reasons for why I unsubbed the game? Alright! Sounds like fun, but also time consuming. Anyway:

    1. Questing. Hate it and the fact that I am forced to quest only at vet levels is disgusting and boring alike.
    2. Class skill bugs. For example: Nightblade's haste doesnt work with bows.
    3. world skill bugs. vampire skills, nuff said.
    4. weapon skill bugs. dual wield passive that doesnt give crit chance when having daggers equipped.
    5. Combat bugs. For example you wont attack or do anything and move slower. workaround is pressinc esc key twice wtf.
    6. bots
    7. dupes
    8. lag issues due to EU server located in US. eff you zenimax, seriously. money grabbing greedy arses.
    9. crafting being pointless. best gear comes from crafting? Actually best gear comes from pvping and then upgrading this gear to artifact status.
    10. crafting leveling by deconstructing more effective than crafting itself.
    11. crafting runes ...
    12. crafting food ...
    13. crafting potions ......
    14. game design decisions: magicka spells > stamina spells and light armor > heavy armor due to giving magic resistances -> pvp = AoE only which effectively only is negatable by wearing light armor due to being magic based attacks only. (There are no real physical AoE effects.)
    15. AoE damage > single target dmg. this should never be the case yet it happend to me a lot in cyrodiil.
    16. gold ...costs. = reason for why there are so many bots. gold being rare creates huge demand for it.
    17. pvp is pointless. zerg or die, you wont get anything from it really and participating wont get you anything that matters except for green gear to upgrade. that being said, you dont need to really pvp for the bonuses. others will do it for you anyways. free riding dilemma.
    18. most group unfriendly MMO I've ever seen. questing in groups is a living hell, dungeons are pointless after you ran them once due to no xp and mostly no loot.
    19. Oh yeah, downtimes.

    ______________________________
stuff that finally ticks me off:

imperial edition and its sour taste of being another attempt to grab your money. horse = 1g and that stuff. no being a gamechanger? more like pay2win in terms of saving a lot of time while progressing.

elder scrolls being a themepark. and that's about it.

and finally. logging in, doing something, realizing that after 5 minutes there is nothing fun about playing. logging out again.

Yeah that is what I could recall on the fly. There might be more, slighter issues I cannot recall right now but only when playing, however, I just cant stand playing anymore so that doesnt matter anyway :)

This is not an live game... this is an open beta on our money... they should have done this on their money... instead of being greedy and haveing a few beta sessions being afraid that ppl will get bored...

It s unplayable... I hate other ppl in this game... it's not normal in an MMO... i hate because i have to waste time to do quests because of other players.... i hate because i have lower loot playing with other ppl... i hate because i can t find a chest to open or a barrel to loot during the day because of other ppl... i hate that other ppl limit content (vamp and WW) ... i hate them because they ruin PVP (DK vamp) ... Then why am i playing an MMO? i should just play a solo game on my own and i don t have to pay a subscription...

and i can accept moast of the buggs... but broken mechanics??? That thing i just can t accept! Broken passives? broken abilities? It s not a game if what you can do it s broken...

And i don t mind the down time... But the sad thing about a 6 hour maintenance is that nothing will be fixed... or tons of new bugs and problems will appear...

Instead of fixing the game... they are working on a new zone... how idiotic is that...

The only solution i see from them to keep half of the people from leaving is to give another free month... But we all know how greedy they are... so that s not gonna happen ...

So yeah i m considering unsubscribing too... haven t made my decision yet...

Well I enjoy the game, flaws and all. Anyone who isnt a child knows you cant have 10 years of refinement in a game thats a month old. The ones who complain and nitpick every little detail are the personality types whom are never happy with anything anyway. Most of us are thankful the kids are leaving so the adults can play now without the silly whining. ZOE didnt put this game out with the intent on failing or to screw over customers. Everyone wants everything fixed all at once, right this second, all while wanting personal responses and personal attention, which is not going to happen. Everyone, to include myself, is guilty of acting at least a little bit entitled. If I become disgruntled with the game or with ZOE, it'll be after 6 months and not after the first month. Unhappy people will never be satisfied, no matter what they do in real life or what game they play, they willl always complain that "everything is too hard" or "it's not good enough".

For me, I'll do my own thing and enjoy my game with no regard to what other people think. Only a month in, it's way too early to make a judgment call.

Not overly fussed about glitches in the game, as I think the game is excellent so am prepared to ride with those. But the one thing that is making me cancel is the lack of support.

I raised a ticket a few days back as I cannot get into Cyrodiil (constant 'transit error') and after an initially speedy response containing suggestions (which sadly did not work), I am being ignored.

I feel as if CS have a fix cribsheet (no bad thing) but once it falls outside of that they'll desert you. And that's not the level of service I expect from a subscription game.

So I'll most likely unsub for now but return in 3-6 months when support have got their act together, because I think the game is superb.
  • tbwmusicb16_ESO
I unsubbed midway through the free 30 days. Honestly, you couldn't pay me to play this game now. Too many glaringly obvious issues to mention, we all know them though, including buggy classes and quests, the most useless customer service I've ever had, pvp that gets boring super quick, ZOS's obvious $ _$ face and, after the initial veneer wore off (I was excited for about a year before this released, after loving Skyrim, and this took me through the first 60 hours or so) I now realise it's a cheap, cartoony, plasticy mediocre game. Think I'm just gonna stick with Dark Souls 2 and hope that some real talent steps up in the near future to create a great MMO, and I'll give them as much money a they need. Peace

    90% ill unsub, why?

    1. Forced to quest my way tru Veteran ranks, there should be viable option, there isnt one
2.Pvp is unbalanced as hell with campaign system, every campaign is steamrolled by 1 faction
    3. My main reason: i cant play my char as i want to, because 1 of my weapon bars need to be fighters guild, i wanted 1h and shield and 2 handed bars, but NOPE! i need to build antivampire char if i want to pvp
    4. My personal opinion is that ZOS dont care about game balance, for exemple i didnt find any news from ZOS what will they do to stop bash exploit( getting hit by 3 attacks in 1 sec isnt realistic combat system they are sooooo proud of)
    5. Public dungeons are ruined by bots- this would never make me even consider leaving game if other points werent there, now its just top of mountain

All MMO's are an open beta, a work in progress. Beta Testers spoke up and said they would rather start playing this game now rather than later, while they work on it as we play and help support them by giving them an earlier income. If you want a finished or near finished ESO, then come back after another 6 months or so, I guess.

One hilarious comment that was on these forums the other day was "this game should never have been released with ANY!!! bugs"

Id love to hear of an MMO without bugs because i want to play that game.

The problem people have is one mans game breaker is another mans minor bug anything gamebreaking "should" mean that we had no level 50 players because no one can get past said bug in order to reach end game

How about if you don't like the game you just unsubscribe and leave instead of crying on the forums about it? Go create a perfect MMO since you know everything.

It seems to me that the crying comes from the people like you. Hasn't it ever occured to you that perhaps ZeniMax would be interested to know the reasons people abandon the game? Maybe they could use this information to improve the game.

The forums are not the proper place to give this supposed feedback. Thats why these kind of threads are not allowed. Once the mods wake up it'll be locked.

"not allowed" - link me that rule, if there is such...

Does canceling ones subscription require a monologue? I expect that Zenimax has realized their Gold version is more bronzed, maybe just plain copper. Granted, I expect, hope and maybe will end up praying that the person who managed the build of this game finds a new career path.

    1. Unplanned server downtime. I agree that better communication would be good, but I do most certainly expect lost of downtime since this game still requires so much work. They seemed to have wasted the information they received from beta.

    2. EU knows ESO plans to move the server to the actual EU. Logic would suggest having the server easy to access directly, rather than dealing remoting in would be advisable, especially with such rough game code for launch. Also, server lag can still exist for some EU customers depending on where they live and the location for the EU server.

    3. They have clearly had odd priorities in the CS department. Then again, Zenimax has seemed to be priority deprived as a whole. There are responses I have seen that have been above what I has received in other games. Much of t he problems we see in the game are due to management and many of them will have new careers soon.

Yes, I am disappointed in the game. I think the best way to appease us fans is a nice video production showing management that were key to such poor organization being shown as they are escorted out of the building. However, I will not start a thread stating why I am leaving the game because we have all experience the same game and no one really cares if someone else is going to quit. I think it is just some sense of self importance that some people have that lead to creating and posting a thread such as this one.
    Elunthir wrote: »
The first month of ESO is nearly ended, so is with our included game time. I guess it is a good time to give some feedback to ZOS and maybe a chance for ZOS to collect their action and change our mind to maintain.

Firstly, I love the game, maybe simply because I am TES fan. However the following issues make me have the urge to leave the game.

    1. Unplanned server down time, ESPECIALLY the lack of information/communication for the reason of downtime. Unplanned server down time is understandable, however not acceptable for a customer to pay for their consequences. As a customer, we are here to enjoy their service instead of sucking up their mess, which is not our obligation to do so. They have to compensate all the unplanned down time to us customers, however, ZOS don't give a damn about it till now.

    2. Unconcern about their EU customer. As EU customer, it hits me hard. Hard enough to think about leaving the game. We got worse lags, we got patches during holidays(in most EU countries) and so on.

    3. Lack of communication with their customer and necessary information provided. A lot of problems could be simply avoid by providing enough information and communication with/to their customers, however they simply neglected it. It feels like their customer service is a joke. No offence, their CS teem need a good training program.

Those are the main issues which affect me most. What are yours? How many bitter fruit you could swallow until you could not stand any more?

I have numerous complaints about the game but the reason I will not play more is that VR is extremely boring for me, not because it's slow (that's a plus in my book) but because there is no further character development in it.

Beyond that many things pushed me towards quitting from the start like - Duping which happens even now, multi-box teleporting bots, attribute soft caps, too much linearity, skill unresponsiveness etc.

The game, as beautiful as it is, is just not for me. Not so much because of bugs (I know these will be fixed eventually) but mostly because of design decisions.
