Prior Therric Arms Packs is way too flashy

As someone having a lot of issues with light sensitivity and this specific arms pack, it's really messed up to see how many of you basically think:

"lol doesn't effect me, so I don't care and ZOS shouldn't fix it"

Completely ignoring the issues many people might experience when there are insanely bright lights flashing on their screens that they have no control over.

Literally already anecdotes of groups of players getting together and spamming weapon swap to spam the effect in public areas.

There ya go ZOS, that's your customer base for your flashbang weapon pack. Enjoy them.

The bright flash when the weapon is summoned absolutely has to GO (or at least only be shown to the wielder). My trials group was playing around with these while grouping up in the lobby and a solid third of the party was playing around with the swap effect.
I had an honest to god migraine before we even entered the trial. It's just not acceptable as it currently is.

The prismatic effect when you swing the weapons is super cool though and if it wasn't for the flashbang it'd probably be enough to get me to buy it.

According to half the people in this thread we should just shut our eyes and not buy the pack if we don't like it.

Cause we're totally not paying customers of this service too.

I defended the flashiness of these weapons in the previous page but after playing with these weapons and also seeing it on the hands of other people for a few days i can kinda understand where the complaints coming from.

If your room is dark without sources of light other than your monitor/tv then these weapons are blinding and i'm not even light sensitive. And don't even think about going first person with these weapons! If ZOS decides to tone down the flashiness, then the first person pov can be a good excuse for them because in crown store you can't preview weapons in the first person, so they can say "a lot of our costumers bought this weapons without being able to see how bright those flashes are in first person so we decided to tone it down a little". Personally i would still continue to use these weapons because i just love the silver rose stuff and my room is bright and i'm not light sensitive, but i wouldn't mind if they tone it down a bit.

Ran cradle of shadows with someone using this pack's staff. That bright flash was only thing I could see for two or three seconds each time they swaped bars. Not exactly comfortable in vet dungeon with ground AoEs and mechanics to keep eye on. Love design of the weapons, but the effects are bit too much. Won't be buying it, since couldn't imagine using it in most situation.

While the draw / bar swap effect is the worst offender here, would prefer if the redish-black effect on them had opacity tuned down a bit too, so details on the weapons are more visible when drawn out. They're gorgeous and it's a shame to not see them most of the time. Thoughts?

Met another player with this pack's weapons in Scalecaller peak today and the flashing wasn't by far as bad as in Cradle of shadows. Still could see the flash and hear the sound, but it wasn't straight flashbang in the face. Probably because Cradle is much darker with narrow corridors forcing camera much closer to the group, while Scalecaller is more open space and well lit in comparison. Still wish ZOS tweaked it a bit, though.

I'd be lying if I said I wasn't just a bit upset with ZOS that nobody on their development team recognized these weapons would be an issue.

They're making a new accessibility mode for the next title update. How did something like this not raise a single red flag internally?

Or did they just ignore when someone did say something?

I love them! I only wish the limbs could be dyed. There are plenty of "flashy" graphics in the game. There are also people who spam certain animations/effects over and over. It's not the first time and won't be the last. Which animation or effect will be cancelled next if we wipe this one? Please leave this one alone!

I've played for roughly 8 years and there's nothing that comes to mind that's bothered my eyes like these weapons.

The bright flash is the only reason I purchased the pack 🔆 I love how my weapons are so magically charged, they set off a flash of light when pulled out 💡😍

You can just say you don't care about other people.

I understand what you are saying, but in some people's eyes, they would think that you don't care about other people, too.

But I will tell you one thing, if they do change the visual effects, then I want a refund on the crowns spent. Will you all make a thread pushing for everyone to be refunded?

Simple fix - just change it so only the wearer gets to see and hear the effects. Then people can knock themselves out with the flashing and banging and not bother anyone else.

And if ZoS make a version with mild flashing and no sound efffects on bar swap, I'll buy it.

If that’s your solution, then let’s make all player effects only visible to the player.

^^ This. I wouldn't mind at all if the effect is for me only as long as I can still see it.

I bought the set because I love the effect. I think it's lovely! I believe many other players bought the set for the effect. If the effect is taken away, then the item not the same item we paid for.

If the beautiful effect is taken away, do those of us that purchased the set get a refund of crowns? Talk about a headache ..

All of you complaining you want a refund. Yea, obviously if ZOS changes the weapons, they should reimburse/whatever.

But you also don't seem to consider people may have bought these packs without realizing how bright it was, and now can't use the set due to photosensitivity.

I know of at least one person in my guild that has this exact issue. They bought the pack and won't use it because it bothers them so much.

Can't imagine they're the only person.

And people who tell us we just shouldn't be playing video games, are you serious?

Are you gonna say the same thing to people with lowered mobility next? Are only 1000% able bodied people allowed to play your video game?

Cause if so, maybe let ZOS know. You know they're adding an accessibility option in the next patch right? Wonder why.

Dang weapons is like setting off a flash bang. On its own it may not be so bad, but if you got the weapons on both bars it's an issue. I even came across some guy in Mournhold last night doing exactly that and he looked like a strobe light.

The flash effect either needs to be toned down or removed because this is a seizure risk.

Edit: let me clarify, not talking about the effects on the weapons, I'm talking about the bright flash the occurs when you pull the weapons out/bar swap.

I love it and will likly be buying the set later mainly because of that!

The flash and sound in combat is almost negligible compared to all the other flashes and sounds. But when you are waiting for the raid to start or a pull or whatever, and 3 people in the group are spamming weapon swap, it's annoying as hell. Pretty sure anyone with epilepsy would start having seizures. ZOS needs to make the effects limited based on the observers video setting for ally's effects.

I enjoy the auditory and visual signal of swapping weapons. Sometimes even though I'll press a button to swap bars, the swap doesn't happen and I'll spend a good 3-5 seconds spamming the wrong skill because there is just SO much happening on the screen that I can't even make out my character or effects. This helps me know I've successfully swapped

I don't have epilepsy but I do get migraine headaches from repeated flashes of bright light. It's worse if the lights are cool white or have a slight blue tint. This weapon pack is significantly brighter than any skill or proc effect, especially after some efforts were made to reduce their flashiness over the past year. Spare me the comparisons to apex mounts, repeated mounting and dismounting is absolutely impossible in combat and rather tedious to do even outside of combat. Here's a tip to griefers - dismount by pressing block, you'll bomb people with both mount and Thierric effects.

Strobe lights are sometimes weaponized in real life and they are effective even against perfectly healthy people. Doesn't happen exclusively in interrogation rooms, it's been observed on border lines and front lines since WW2. It's not meant to make all targets acutely ill, it's supposed to be distracting, irritating and demoralizing.

No, we will not stop moaning because we are literally in pain! There's nothing to be easy about.

You are literally in pain because someone flashes a weapon in a video game? Really? I was litteraly in pain once, when during operation the anestesia I got was to little, and I could feel scalpel cuting my body, yea but what do I know.

So there are dozens of radiant apex mounts, and hundrets of flashy effects in this game, and you people seem to have a problem with this weapon and consider it something new? You also name other players using it toxic?

Wow the "toxic" word.. How about you stop beeing toxic and allow other players to spend their money and free time the way they want.
Your right to "not beeing flashed at" isn't superior to every other players' right to bar swap, and block how many times they want. Your right to something isnt superior to others rights just because its yours.
Sorry for the pathos, but I m not the one who started this exaggeration.

Im sure you already agreed to all the game terms, which also states a warning of flashing lights. If you have problem with those, or you suffer from epilepsy you shoudln't be plaing the game in the first place.

"Hey, it's only a seizure, it's not that big a deal. I got cut once while only mostly anesthetized so that immediately invalidates any concern anyone should have with this.

And there are other things in the game that are similar. It doesn't matter if they are significantly less intense, being okay with them means you have to be okay with this too. And you didn't mention every other lighting effect in this game in your posts, so that clearly means you're okay with all of them.

I'm not toxic for not being empathetic to you, you're being toxic for not being empathetic to my lack of empathy. And that's totally just as bad."

Listen, I'm not against crazy effects and colors... but I am definitely against bad logic and bad faith arguments like the above.

Unfortunately that doesn't do anything when other people around you have bought and are using it. That also doesn't help those who were not fully informed of the effects and their intensity prior to buying.
