Halfway through 38 characters worth of crafting writs. Over a dozen of each of the three spider parts (over 20 of one). Not even 24 hours into the event, and they are already auto-trash. One of a set of three is dropping every 2-3 boxes. In the meantime, motif style pages, of which there are over 1400, I am getting roughly one in every 10 boxes.

Seriously, who comes up with these drop rates? Does someone just throw a dart at a dartboard and say "yeah, that number looks good"? Does the game engine only allow two settings, "dripping faucet" and "firehose"?

I opened a gold box every day during jesters on my third account, and got a single fragment of the pig, which automatically bound so I couldn't trade it or trade for other pieces. It was impossible to get it, unless you are on much better terms with RNGeezus than I seem to be.

I already hate the spider pet parts. After just one day of writs I have enough parts to make multiples many times over.

It is such a waste of an RNG spot in each box that could be used for something better like a motif.

The only thing I can say is... at least they are stackable. Unlike the companion motifs that used to be pure pain because they wouldn't stack.

Just salt on the wound now that I have to spend a few tickets to finish my Worm Cult motif.

They did mention this in the event description. It appears to be very similar to how the Worm Cult motif worked in the past, only this time they were open about the cooldown rather than letting players find out the hard way.

Working away at my Aurora Firepot Centipede at this point!

It seems so hard to find the middle ground on "doesn't drop enough" and "drops hilariously too often".

I have 31 parts after 1 day (double writs x 8 and a couple odd dailies I saved on main)

I used to love ESO events. They got it right till they decided to sell tickets on their (garbage) ca$h $hop. Since then events have been nothing than a money grab with terrible RNG to push you to (did I say it was terrible?) ca$h $hop.

This year has been underwhelming in terms of style pages and I have been flooded with useless parts for a firepot pet I'll never use.

I am spending precious time deleting all this junk.

I started deleting the spider parts as well, then had an awful thought, what if we end up getting this junk in next years grab bag because we don't have parts, so I'm saving 1 of each, but sure as heck not making the pet

Saberkeel is available on the Impressario for tickets now. Just like Second Seed was just this past week for Jester event.

One Saberkeel style page. You can still get the usual random motif pages from the Anniversary boxes.

I only did crafting writs on 8 alts, so 56 boxes. Got 1 Saberkeel page, 9 other motifs, and 12 furniture plans.

Plus 12 spider parts... which stack (so even if you had to Destroy them, it's only 3 times), and I think they may be vendorable (I'll have to check).

Heck, shove them all in your bank, then destroy three stacks of 200 at the end of the event. /shrug

Typically the anniversary event would make me excited to get on and play. But it seems every year it becomes more... lack luster... I remember when rare motifs and recipes would drop quite a lot from the boxes. Sure it killed the market for those items for awhile, but it was FUN. There's very little fun about this event. There's just being buried in firepot spider parts. But other then that, the drop rate on anything good in the boxes is just dismal. The game has been around for 8 years now. If ZOS has so little passion or pride in their own ESO anniversary then what does that show the future of the game? The anniversary event should be pulling all the bells and whistles. A huge celebration with lots of rewards to its players. Lots of excitement and fun. They should also have delayed the event until later in the month due to all the crashes and server maintenances. They should have took care about the one event in the year that celebrates all of eso. Instead we get a lackluster event that honestly does not make me even the slightest bit excited in.

How about ZOS give us the option to turn all the surplus pet spider parts into a spider mount? Got several spare legs and not keen on the idea of having to BUY an instruction. It’s like IKEA suddenly charging extra for instruction manual and Allen key

Same here. Lots of spider parts…far too many. Plus you need to spend another 5 tickets for the last piece. AND the thing is ugly. And this is only day 1 of the event.

Please cut the drop rate of spider pieces *now* before we’re all swimming in arachnid body parts!

I'm glad the same type spider parts stack and that they can be placed in the bank. I have started deleting them since I don't need the extras.

These spider parts are nothing short of SPAM and are VERY annoying.

You get so many but only need 3. What the heck do you want us to do with these, destroy them? Because that is going to be the only viable option. This is why:

1 - Can't sell to other players, well you could try but no one will buy because everyone else will be getting far too many as well.

2 - Give to other players - same as above.

3 - Sell to vendors, they have ZERO value so that's pointless, besides that the game probably wont even let you try to.

4 - Use on alt chars - can't, they are once per account,

In the end - destroy. By the end of this event I will probably have at least 2 stacks PER spider part. This mechanic imo is a fail. Sorry.

Gotten lots of nice stuff like Dro-m'Athra chest and legs, remember then that style was 10K for body

It's not even how many/few run it. Maw only drops motifs from the coffer (so once per week per character) and it's only a chance, not a guaranteed drop like Kynes/RG coffers.
I have everything from MoL but I still think it's a fun trial.

I don’t think it is guaranteed to drop but it is guaranteed that you WILL NOT get more than one page per day. Any others which would have dropped are replaced by spider parts, so if you get a style page quickly, it’s spider parts for you for the next 24 hours.

It actually makes me quite sad how zero thought is put into these sorts of things. Surely data shows that a lot of people did a hell of a lot of boxes every year. Who came up with this idea and thought that more than 100 spider parts in 2-3 days will motivate/reward/delight a player base which seems to be not in the best place right now?

Oh, and coincidence or not from a tiny sample, but in my guild the first four of us to post did get a style page on day one and another on day two. ALL of us had the same one two days running. Fine, we can swap, but really?

It's a shame that you need to buy the bound instructions to make it work. Previously we would have been able to make a runebox with the parts, which we could sell, put in guild bank, or give to a friend who wasn't able to participate.

The other bit that I think is sad/unhelpful/just straight up mean is that someone took the time to code to prevent anyone getting good rng with the new style pages (I.e. more than one a day). Why was that necessary?
