Firepot Spider.

So we go from the unobtainable Sovereign Sow to the too common Firepot Spider. Having opened two days crafting writ boxes on 5 characters I have around 10 bits of spider.

And one style page.

Thats right instead of getting multiple style pages of the new Saberkeel style you can get one a day. Then you get Spider parts, lots and lots of Spider parts.

Another example of things being thought through poorly....

I have not even assembled the spider and I hate it already, because all those bits are taking the turn of other relevant rewards.

Makes me sad that they have made this event another waste of time for things you already have dozens of from previous years. In past years, it was always an exciting highlight.

8 characters done, so 16 sets of writs.

24 spider parts.

1 style page because you can only get one a day.

Style page should be drop in 1 in 10 boxes.

Spider should be drop in 1 in 30 boxes and should be fragments so that once you've got you don't need to see it again, especially as you have to buy part 4 with tickets which means you can give complete spiders away....

While the idea had some merit it's been really badly implemented and you are going to get similar complaints about the style page as you did about the unobtainable pig at Jesters.

Please please please look at these ideas again and come up with a better way of limiting the drops - people would far rather have furniture plans or motifs, or style pages they don't have than the 100's of bits of spider. At the current rate I should have something like 100 of each part of spider by the end of the event, and thats just senseless!

At least the style pages can be bought with tickets, if we are unlucky enough that our once-per-day drop is a duplicate more often than not, or can be swapped with other players, or sold/bought in guild stores. The overabundance of spider parts is just silly.

I'm seeing the exact same thing, but looking at it a bit differently. We're essentially guaranteed 1 style page a day. If we're on every day we will hopefully complete our set and earn a few extras to trade if we don't. Those extras will actually have value unlike previous anniversary events. This is ZOS doing us a favor and creating a system where the style pages will actually be desirable over time. Yes, the spider will be incredibly easy to create, but only during the event. The last piece is locked to the Impressario so the extra pieces are basically worthless when the event is over, but many pets are worthless afterward anyway (looking at you bunny).

As for the event being a waste of time, we must be participating in different events. I've received multiple motif pages, mundane runes, potent nirncrux, perfect roe and tons of smaller mats that all add up and I'm only on my 5th toon of the day. I already consider that a win, but I suppose that's subjective.

I came here just to post this same thing. Got 3 spider parts in one box. This is TOO MUCH.

ZOS, we get it, really. You want us to buy the piece that costs event tickets to assemble the spider.

How about a compromise? Once we assemble the silly thing, how about stop making it drop? You know, like the sticker book, or account wide achievements? Actually use that stuff to stop this torrent of spider parts, once the ritual sacrifice of event tickets has been made by an account?

Honestly, I am pretty concerned this is blocking loot table slots for things people actually are looking for even after assembling the spider, and the drop rate on this is so out of whack that in just one day I have literally DOZENS of these things.

Can we look at this, seriously?

I was hoping with the popularity of Elden Ring ZOS might be overly generous this Jubilee but clearly they’ve gone in the other direction and are being stingy with even the most modest of drops except for spider parts.

Ironically they are carrying the spider forward in case you don’t have a chance to get it this event. LOL!!

Understandable. But also keep in mind, that there are thousands of new players every year. For them all this loot is new.
So if the game would decrease the loot from previous years, then the new players would have a hard time to grind this things together.

At least they add something new each event, such as new quests, new collectibles etc, so it's not too dry for older players

I dislike anything that has "part" in it, we should just get the whole thing at once. Easy and simple... that's the way I like it!

And there should not be a cap on outfit style page drops, otherwise what is the point of even partaking in the events!

Nope it's going to inflate prices all the more. Only way to get Wormcult motif now is with tickets, so the price of any still out in the market place or private guild banks is going to skyrocket.

Others will follow suit without the usual glut to the market from this event

I checked my inventory and I'm quite sure I never got one, and also quite sure I never used it or banked it.

The fourth piece is supposed to be permanently available:

After the event ends, the Aurora Firepot Spider Instructions will forevermore be available on the Impresario's assistant, Philius Dormier, for the same ticket cost. That way, if you later collect enough tradeable fragments for the rest of the spider, you will be able to put it together with any excess tickets or future ticket earnings.

So the extras can be kept and given to newbies in the future. Though their worth will depend not on drop rate but how many people have the inventory space and will to use it to save these and not destroy them.

I don't think this is how the loot table for event boxes works. Each type of thing has it's own slot and they don't seem to block each other.
Seems to be something like
x% chance of spider part, if yes then 1/3 which one you get
x% chance of style page (this might be combined with spider part, I guess)
guaranteed mat 1 (roll from mat table and quantity)
guaranteed mat 2 (roll from mat table and quantity)
x% chance of motif (if yes, roll motif)
x% chance of furnishing plan (if yes, roll plan)

Did 98 writs and can make at least 5 of these spiders... The drop rate is too high on this; would have preferred more of the new style pages.

Could be badluck. I only managed to log into one of my characters and do the crafting dailies(before the server issues), and already got one of the new outfit style pages. (and a few spider bits) Just hope this is not rolled back somehow.

I mentioned they are basically guaranteed based on the number of writs I'll be doing each day. Your mileage may vary and the more dailies you do, the greater your chance of getting one per day. The drop rate does appear to be high enough that multiple toons worth of writs seems to have a very high chance of rewarding a style page though I don't believe it's guaranteed.

Whats the point of those PARTS if i have to spend tickets for this pet anyway? Like... just put this pet for tickets at this point. Why waste our inventory slots with this?

khajiit has also experienced such skewed probabilities. After having turned in 2 days-worth of 7 crafties on 8 characters, khajiit received 9 spiders-worth of parts (and then some - over 30 parts), one new style page (on first turn in - is intended perhaps?), and about 10 motif pages.

This one has low expectations about this event. -sigh-.

Glad to know My lack of preparing isnt going to cost me any sanity. On the Jesters event, out of all those gold boxes, I only got one foot/glove style page of the Second Seed, And two cadwell style pages I already had. I have no reason to burn myself out on this game over poor implementation of rewards. If I miss out, then I miss out.

Hmm. In the past, I think they've been way too generous with Anniversary style pages, so I don't mind this much. I'm a little baffled at anyone who would call ZOS "stingy" over one reward type in the single most generous event of the year.

I will say, though, at least the Spider parts stack so they'll only take up 3 inventory slots instead of 300 by the time the event is over.

The difference is that other rewards do not have "only during short time once a year" limit. are all those motif pages generous? yes. Is limiting event only rewards so severely that there is a very good chance you won't be able to collect them - generous? no. no its not. it IS stingy. both things can be true at the same time.

2) good item (motif, uncommon+ mats, style mats, furniture, etc; can include the spider?)
3) % chance bonus item (spider part, Worm Cult style mat, transmute crystal; maybe the Saberkeel style as well?)


Anyway, out of 56 boxes (8 alts x 7 writs), I got 12 spider parts, 9 motif pages, 12 furniture plans, 1 food recipe. And one Saberkeel page on my first character.

I've gotten a spider part, 2 mats, a furnishing plan and a transmute in a single box.

Final count.

18 characters, 14 boxes per character (2 days worth of crafting writs). So 252 boxes in total.

25 Firepot
16 Front Legs
15 Rear legs

56 spider parts, so roughly 1 in 5 boxes had a spider part (22.22%)

1 character had 7 parts in 14 boxes, 1 was 1 in 14.

Think I can get another 12 lots of crafting done during the event which is (12*18*7) 1,512 boxes which at the current drop rate means I will get another 336 parts of spider, meaning in total I should get 392 spider parts during the event.

And if I'm lucky 13 style pages.

Please tell me the logic behind this?
