And if I'm lucky 13 style pages.

1) common material
2) good item (motif, uncommon+ mats, style mats, furniture, etc; can include the spider?)
3) % chance bonus item (spider part, Worm Cult style mat, transmute crystal; maybe the Saberkeel style as well?)
Anyway, out of 56 boxes (8 alts x 7 writs), I got 12 spider parts, 9 motif pages, 12 furniture plans, 1 food recipe. And one Saberkeel page on my first character.

Don’t you think there is quite a large area between “you have all the parts plus more in the first hour” and “you weren’t even close after seven days of farming”. Both are miles from the ideal.
Yea, the result of RNG control is that now have stacks of useless pet parts and no additional chances to get the style pages today. And this is just after the first couple hours of day one of the event.

Consider yourself lucky. I haven't had the style page, and I have no additional chances to get it today because the EU server is down.
On the plus side (!), I did enough writs with a couple of my characters to get the spider parts before being thrown off.

I think it is worth trying to stop opening boxes after the first (and only) style page on the day and open the remaining after the event is finished.RealLoveBVB wrote: »On jesters event everyone was complaining about missing pet fragments.

Because these too many fragments are given instead of missing style pages.

Well, thing is, the problem is ZOS almost perverse love for RNG. It can't be too hard to make one style page per day a guaranteed drop per account, that way making sure everyone gets as many as days they do the event, and can then trade if they get the "wrong" parts doubled, and missing some part. Whatever is left over will be sellable, though obviously not at outrageous prices, which suits me fine.
As for the spider pet - just sell it as is for the same amount as the final part. Not sure why they want to drown us in spider legs. :P
I think it's just that the drop rates are low enough that the combos are rare. If you have a 10% chance of a furnishing plan and 10% of motif (made up numbers) there's only a 1% chance of both together.Kiralyn2000 wrote: »PeacefulAnarchy wrote: »I've gotten a spider part, 2 mats, a furnishing plan and a transmute in a single box.Kiralyn2000 wrote: »Based on what I've seen, it's 2-3 slots.

Hmm. Well, so much for that theory.
Still, the vast majority of the boxes I opened seemed to fit the pattern. /ponder
(I wonder if the "bonus item" roll can try again if it succeeds.)
No, the large discrepancy between both extremes is not "fun", it's frustrating. There's this thing called balance, something ZOS has repeatedly shown it doesn't understand. It's always that something is so rare you might as well resign yourself to not getting it, or drops so often you're drowning in it on the first day. This happened with the Companion Styles, which they eventually moved to the grab bags, because people were getting dozens of the damn things. Now it's like that for the Firepot Spiders.RealLoveBVB wrote: »Punches_Below_Belt wrote: »RealLoveBVB wrote: »On jesters event everyone was complaining about missing pet fragments.

Exactly this large area is the fun part.

After the event ends, the Aurora Firepot Spider Instructions will forevermore be available on the Impresario's assistant, Philius Dormier, for the same ticket cost. That way, if you later collect enough tradeable fragments for the rest of the spider, you will be able to put it together with any excess tickets or future ticket earnings.

So we go from the unobtainable Sovereign Sow to the too common Firepot Spider. Having opened two days crafting writ boxes on 5 characters I have around 10 bits of spider.
And one style page.
Thats right instead of getting multiple style pages of the new Saberkeel style you can get one a day. Then you get Spider parts, lots and lots of Spider parts.
Another example of things being thought through poorly....
