This would be awesome. I want my dudes to sway and my gals to stride :D

Can we please make this an option toggleable by the player?

It would also increase the required resources which is an issue for consoles and older PCs, smaller drives

I'm...not sure how this would increase anything like that though. It's such a tiny piece of data that already exists. Turning on combat cues probably takes more resources than this would.

I personally wish we could decide between male and female dances, instead of being forced into one or the other.

One senses that armor and fashions were designed by men with little regard for feminine vanity. I'm a woman and play women characters exclusively, I also care about their appearance. Two things bother me.
    1. Armor accoutrements on hips that make derrieres appear too broad.
    2. Lopsided chesticals.
As per number two, I'm rather fond of the shop-purchased Jarl's robe -- at one time all of my alts wore them in various colors. The Jarl's robe has large, strategically placed buttons. When examined closely, it's obvious female chests are nonsymmetrical. Indeed, this is not a physiological oddity -- few of us are perfectly balanced in real life, but happily it's not a phenomena that's particularly noticeable, certainly not to the extent witnessed in this game. As a result, I've tried dressing my characters in other attire, but with few exceptions the characters' left-sided charms are obviously smaller. I have never raised this irritant with ZOS, but I do wish they'd fix it.

The second set of animations is being requested. That requires data to compose which would be more data to store on our machines and people would not want to stop at a mere walk. At least that is how Zenimax will look at it since they know if they give an inch we really want that mile.

I am talking about hard drive storage and active memory and CPU/GPU requirements are irrelevant to that. In other words, the minimum requirements have to increase to accommodate such a change so that there are feminine movement and masculine movement choices for characters. For consoles, it is probably a bigger issue to increase hard drive space requirements.

That's... literally not how it works.

Animations and animation rigs in video games are interchangable in some way. Think about it this way: an animation asset is nothing more than a series of keyframes denoting the transformations (mainly rotations) of different joints in a rig; this means that you can apply the same animation asset to a different rig easily with the same skeleton structure.

Basically, multiple humanoid characters can share the same animations even when their rigs are slightly different in some way, as long as their skeletons share the same structures. Even rigs with different skeletons (e.g. Mixamo skeleton vs Epic Games skeleton) can share the same animations through animation retargeting.

If you need an example, take Apex Legends: different Legends have different viewmodel models, with different animations for Legend-specific abilities, which all require different rigs, but they all also still share the exact same gun animations since those animations are based off of the same base skeleton.

Since all the humanoid characters in ESO are all based off of the same exact skeleton (yes, that means your human/elf/orc character technically has an invisible tail), it takes zero extra resources to apply feminine animations to male characters and vice versa. If you want proof, just compare different personalities on different gendered characters: they all use the exact same animations for each personality. Or check out this Reddit post about someone's female character getting bugged into using the male running animations.

Uh...again, I'm not sure why you're thinking this would be such a huge piece of data that it would require so many resources and be such a drain on older machines. We literally have numerous toggles that likely take far more resources. Why in the world would minimum requirements need to be increased for such a small bit of data?

If not a toggle, which animation set to use should at the very least be a part of character creation.

I would love if there was a way to un-genderlock animations, especially dancing animations. It's possible for characters to do the opposite gender's dances (we can see that by being transformed by Ylahizu the Magnificent, dancing while the other gender, then not interrupting the dance when you transform back), but it would be nice having a way to dance either way if we we want to.
Still waiting for answers about class set aura behavior, and also hoping that one day hair dyeing will be an option. We know it's canon thanks to a book in the Manor of Masques! (House of Reveries: The Troupe)

A toggle would be lovely. I doubt I'll use it but I see it as no different from equipping personalities that already somewhat emulate this.

Please stop misinformation... Such data is never requested, they always are part of client programming! And there is absolutely no reason for such a thing to have any performance overhead. Duh!

It reminded me, but I've wanted options like this ever since the Barbie/GI Joe voicebox swaps back in the Toys R Us days.

Or ever since finding about groups such as the Hijira.

Or ever since gaining an appreciation for theatre.

Or ever since growing, and gaining a diverse cadre of friends!

I'd love to be able to choose the dance animation for sure! Some of the male dances are hilarious - just have them added to the emotes - /dance mredgaurd or /dance fredguard for example. Not sure how the other animations would work - a toggle in settings maybe? It's a fun idea, I like it.

I would so love to have a 'select animation' menu where I could select m or f or polymorph/personality animations for my chars and assign them to a state (idle 1, idle 2, run, jog... etc).

Generally I'd love to see the polymorphs split into their parts... body, skin, costume, animations, voice... for full custimization. The way R6S finally split the Elite Packs, so to say.

If you have the skeleton skin on a female characters, you can turn into skeleton, dance then unturn. Your female character will dance the male dance. Especially funny with the Redguard and Dunmer dances.
