Thanks for this! Zoned named fittingly. On the march in northern Reaper's. You get Reaped by ReapersDragonRacer wrote: »Where in Reaper’s March is the guaranteed “character lock” area?DragonRacer wrote: »Where in Reaper’s March is the guaranteed “character lock” area?

I would like to know this as well.
So would I....
It's a while ago now, but it was somewhere around this area:
If I recall correctly, I was running to the Fishing Dock to unlock it from Arenthia and the game just crashed me out completely and I couldn't log in again without the game crashing every time on that character after character select. I remember googling it at the time and seeing other people in the past that had had the issue at that area too and to lodge a ticket to get my character moved.
I feel like you might need to hit exactly the right spot and then the game goes NO. Luckily you didn't! It was annoying because I was having a lovely time on my old main speedrunning the alliance questlines and it put the brakes on that (I have done the base game properly on my "new" main) and also because the first person who replied to my ticket was like "I have moved your character" but actually didn't.

the latter is a pretty good game, but it is fast paced - not sure, that you would enjoy it that much therefore.

Gina put up a warning notice about tomorrow's console patch... which in itself is a first to my knowledge.
Most of it sounds trivial but this bit about getting booted and having to submit tickets to get back in? A guildy pointed out she says it will be rare but in my experience from previous patch notes they use that word rather liberally.
And in my experience having support reset a stuck character takes around 24 hours.
A lot of us politely asked that this update be postponed until they could have some degree of confidence it was up to standard. This seems to indicate it isnt.
I've literally had this happen in the base game before, you just submit a ticket and they move your character. There's an area in Reaper's March that boots and locks out your character.
They're never going to postpone patches, we already know this.
At least this time they've actually told us what the high level issues are going to be instead of pretending the patch is totally fine!!!!!!! and letting us find out that every single major issue that was present in the PC patch that they already knew about hasn't actually been fixed, they just didn't bother to tell us that these issues existed.
@renne where is that in reaper’s March? I want to avoid it.
I just posted where. I don't recall EXACTLY where I was because it was last year some time, but it was somewhere around that screenshot. I remember being clenched up very tightly as I approached the Fishing Dock from the other side after they moved me since I hadn't discovered it before I crashed.
I haven't logged in since then - and it might be wise to wait - even I won't get the 2nd alliance point gift this month due to that. I'm not going to Cyrodiil, so the alliance point gift is my access to vigor - it is bad that I won't get it this month, but I wouldn't get it either, if I would get stuck and unable to login due to this bug - so better safe than sorry, I guess.

Honestly, it's very disappointing to see I literally have to be afraid of playing my main for fear she'll get locked somewhere, say, the day of my guild auction or, worse, mid-auction and then I have to wait however many hours/days for support to unlock me, only to not know when and how soon she'll be locked again. I don't have the luxury of simply not logging in until it's fixed. I have to play Russian roulette now, I guess.

It does seem like they don't care, since ZOS won't give any information as to why some characters are being locked and others aren't. Surely they have some inkling as to what it is. Companions? Having too many quests in your journal or pending antiquities? The character name has an umlaut? They are using a crown store item? Nothing, just....ooop, it might happen! 😁
I also have a bad experience because the last time a ghost feared me out of bounds, it took support over a week to get my main unlocked. With numerous "we moved your character" responses that never actually moved my character, to them moving the wrong characters even though the name was clearly stated many times in the email.

If you're avoiding Cyrodiil because you don't want to PVP for AP, you can just do the intro quest where you learn about siege equipment. It will give enough AP to get to rank 3, which will unlock both Vigor and Continuous Attack (with Major Gallop that gives 30% mount speed) without doing any PVP. Depending on which base you zone into, you may need to go to the other one to find the quest giver.

Thanks for the advice - there are just 2 characters of mine which have no vigor yet (both don't need it really, it is just by completion reasons, that I want it for them as well) - so I will most likely complete that with the next few monthly gifts. I don't need more mount speed, they are fast enough fully trained for my purposes - I role play and my mount is an animal, not a machine, so I won't rush it outside of an emergency.

Its worth noting that the entirely PVP-less tutorial in cyrodiil is grants enough AP and alliance rank for you to simply purchase it and it takes about 5 minutes. You dont even have to enter a zone where PVP is even possible.

It is time which is eventually paid for with subscription - so the damage is not just, that one cannot play, but if it takes 6 weeks for example, that is about 20 dollars paid without to get something in return for it - and ZOS is not likely to just add 6 weeks to our subscription time.
I just wonder why they don't do what other companies do in such a case, where they have no clue how long it might take to fix that bug - it puts a lot of stress on the support crew and makes players discontent - why not just roll back to update 32 - we can wait for a few hours to get this done - and then we could play and ZOS could figure out where the problem is without to cripple the live game with it.

I don't think anyone's expecting immediate turn around. It's a poor decision to launch a product with large issues and ignored PTS feedback - weeks after the Studio Director had to yet again apologize. It does nothing but create technical debt, which in turn creates loads more tickets and subsequent delays in issue resolution. All for saving 6 weeks.
