Maintenance for the week of November 25:
• [COMPLETE] Xbox: NA and EU megaservers for maintenance – November 27, 6:00AM EST (11:00 UTC) - 9:00AM EST (14:00 UTC)
• [COMPLETE] PlayStation®: NA and EU megaservers for maintenance – November 27, 6:00AM EST (11:00 UTC) - 9:00AM EST (14:00 UTC)

This sounds.... worrying

There may be rare instances where you could get booted from the game with Error 326 and unable to log back into that character. If you run into this issue, please submit a ticket at account.elderscrollsonline.com.

Gina put up a warning notice about tomorrow's console patch... which in itself is a first to my knowledge.

Most of it sounds trivial but this bit about getting booted and having to submit tickets to get back in? A guildy pointed out she says it will be rare but in my experience from previous patch notes they use that word rather liberally.

And in my experience having support reset a stuck character takes around 24 hours.

A lot of us politely asked that this update be postponed until they could have some degree of confidence it was up to standard. This seems to indicate it isnt.

Several people have already had this happen on PC today.... I had one get locked at about 8:15 am US MDT (PC NA), and another one at 1 pm US MDT (PC EU, but the same account as the first one). Sent in a ticket, not logging anyone else in until this gets fixed. I'll go play Skyrim or buy Horizon Zero Dawn....

Had this happen to me this morning on PC-NA. I imagine its only a matter of time before these pile up. Looks like we cant log a character without risking a lock.

I've literally had this happen in the base game before, you just submit a ticket and they move your character. There's an area in Reaper's March that boots and locks out your character.

They're never going to postpone patches, we already know this.

At least this time they've actually told us what the high level issues are going to be instead of pretending the patch is totally fine!!!!!!! and letting us find out that every single major issue that was present in the PC patch that they already knew about hasn't actually been fixed, they just didn't bother to tell us that these issues existed.

They're never going to be able to fix bugs between the PC and console launch because the 2-week delay is to allow for the console certification process - meaning ZOS finish it and send it off for approval at the same time the PC version goes live and after that they can't make changes without having to resubmit it.

If a bug was bad enough that the patch failed certification they'd have to fix it and resubmit, but ZOS will know what kind of bugs will do that and presumably wouldn't send it off for certification if there was one.

Like I said I just don't want to get locked out. It really comes down to how "rare" this really is. None of us will really know until this goes live.

Their schedule doesn't call for another proper patch- what Gina calls the incremental, for another 6 weeks. So it's not like whatever we get will be fixed in a week or two.

Well, I can't call it "rare" when it happened to 2 of the 8 characters I logged into today....

Happened twice to one person in here on a character on both PC megaservers. Once to me (I just stayed logged out. PC-NA). I dont see much mention of it in posts except today with Gina's post, and a couple people on the forums. Which makes me think it might have been related to last nights maint as much as it is update 33. Probably still too early to tell how widespread the issue will be until everyone patches and starts playing. Took me a couple hours to hit this bug. Seeing as it happened to someone here twice, I am just going to take the safe bet and stay logged out. Its bad enough having to wade through a support ticket to make my main playable again. I dont want to have to do it twice or 8 times.

At 5:40 pm US MDT, I received an email in response to my ticket, stating that both characters had been unlocked. That was in truth the case, things are now normal on that account both PC NA and EU. I will still not log in until this bug has been fixed.

Pleased you got it sorted. Sorry one of your characters was locked out for 9 hours, that really isnt acceptable.

    Yeah.

    Exactly.

No kidding they're not fixing it.

As I said, they instead pretend it's fine.

While knowing all the issues that have existed in every patch launch on console.

And never bother to add these already known issues into the patch notes AS known issues.

Because it's easier to pretend the console launch is issue free.

    When CLEARLY it won't be.

It's a while ago now, but it was somewhere around this area:

    9qpwduick6g2.png

If I recall correctly, I was running to the Fishing Dock to unlock it from Arenthia and the game just crashed me out completely and I couldn't log in again without the game crashing every time on that character after character select. I remember googling it at the time and seeing other people in the past that had had the issue at that area too and to lodge a ticket to get my character moved.

I just posted where. I don't recall EXACTLY where I was because it was last year some time, but it was somewhere around that screenshot. I remember being clenched up very tightly as I approached the Fishing Dock from the other side after they moved me since I hadn't discovered it before I crashed. :D

Thanks renne. I wonder if it's got patched out - I was there just last week, and had no issues at all. I ran through that entire area, doing antiquities (had green, then blue, then a purple on the verge of expiring, and wonder of wonders, they were all in that same area.... I love it when that happens!)

I feel like you might need to hit exactly the right spot and then the game goes NO. Luckily you didn't! It was annoying because I was having a lovely time on my old main speedrunning the alliance questlines and it put the brakes on that (I have done the base game properly on my "new" main) and also because the first person who replied to my ticket was like "I have moved your character" but actually didn't.
