Hmmm, have you tested getting the 3 Bonus in Artaeum? Yes it is level 7 for the first Glowy Chest Perk, level 9 extends the range so that you can see them further away.
BTW even if you think you know where all the chests are, sometimes you may not. Example, I have found a couple of chests that were actually hidden in terrain, obviously glitched. There is one in Blackwood that is under the ground and you can only see it because of the glowy perk shining through the floor. I managed to open it too.
Yes, its 1 for green, 2 for blue and 3 for purple and higher.Grizzbeorn wrote: »It scales on the level/quality of the antiquity, from 1 to 3 bonus items.
It isn't 3 bonus items on everything.

hi ('-')/ I believe you, once you max out everything you miss that feeling of pogress, i still havent gotten my 100k gold from scrying, not sure how to.
How many characters do you have? I only play 1 usually.
joerginger wrote: »When you start leveling antiquities, the starter quality green ones only have one bonus item. The next tier blue ones have two and starting from purple antiquities you can find three bonus items.
That's when you start.
There is, however, some point towards the end of the leveling process after which you can also find three bonus items alongside green and blue antiquities. You'll notice this because the green and blue ones then also become almost identical in difficulty with the other tiers.

Same with nodes, seen people saying keen eye is a waste since they have their own eyes, but they just don't know ZOS level design all that well.
Kelinmiriel wrote: »I hope you're all aware that leveling Antiquities on alts will be harder after update 33 (Monday, for PC) because account-wide achievements mean that after your first character has gotten the achievement, your alts will already have it, so won't be able to get the xp for the skill line like they have been able to.
I'm not sure exactly how much xp we were getting from achievements (the only source I could find on this other than my own experiments said "about 100"), but anything is better than nothing.
Considering that it takes 350 xp to level each skill line to 7 (to get basic glowing chests), 100 is pretty significant. Also taking into account that xp for digging up an antiquity at green/blue/purple gives 1/3/5 xp, that's a lot more digging required. In fact, if you're doing greens/blues on a small zone like Artaeum, it'll take you 25 extra cycles of those: 25x1 green = 25, + 25x3 blue = 75, 25+75=100.
So, yippee for account-wide achievements. Let's dig up fifty more antiquities to level up each alt to get glowy chests. I'm sure everybody wanted that.
I never relied on any xp from any of the achievements, as just grinding it out on Artaeum is fast enough anyway. So I really don't see much impact from account wide achievements at all.
All these people saying that the account wide achievements are going to mess with the game - I think they are just paranoid. I can't see how NPCs are going to say something to your alts about a quest you haven't done yet on that char, simply because your main has. It's silly, comments are tied to the quests not any achievements I should think, if not, well that's just going to be a little bit more work for ZOS to do to change that - not too complicated tbh.

i think this is due to it treating EVERY dig that is lower than purple difficult, as the same as purple difficulty
it took me awhile to realize this, and i dont know when it triggers but it definitely starts treating green and blue difficulty as purple once you get high enough

That sounds like a bug, in which case if it has changed, it hasn't been nerfed - it's been fixed.

*waves* Getting that 100k depends on getting the purple treasure lead dug in each zone listed in the antiquities screen in the journal. Once you've done that, go back to Solitude to the Antiquarian Circle, go all the way upstairs, all the way to the last row of shelving opposite the door where you enter the room, turn right, go to the table against the wall, and the lead should be there.
Once you pick up the lead, the antiquity is found in Western Skyrim, just scry and dig it up.

@Sylvermynx Is this just the purple treasure leads? And also, is it just those that were available when antiquities launched?

No, not paranoid. Tested it on the PTS. Those of us who found the bugs absolutely agree with you that it SHOULDN'T work this way. But it does. So they ARE tied to achievements.
You may not have relied on xp from the achievements, but every character you've leveled in Antiquities has benefitted from them whether you realized it or not. Now only the first one will. Just wanted people to be aware of that.
It's not paranoia. It's a fact. Straight up numbers. For people who only level one character in Antiquities, it won't matter. For those who do - enjoy digging up another fifty items to get to level 7.

I don't think many people are crazy enough like me to level more than 1 char in Antiquities, as it requires a certain amount of craziness/grind/dedication which you usually don't expect in this game. However I am an old school Runescape Classic player and if you know anything about that it means that EVERYTHING was grindy, in fact the game was nothing but grind. What am I saying? Oh yeah I guess I am saying those extra 50 digs well certainly take more time to do, but it wont deter those crazy enough to do it in the first place. It also means a little bit more cash (from those 50), however I guess it's still less cash overall now since we are not getting the third bonus loot like we normally could.

I level all of my many characters through antiquities. It's a lot more fun than writs! And it gets them out of Vivec or wherever, to get skyshards, explore and so on.

What do they actually get combat exp? I know in GW2 we got exp for doing everything, even gathering resources, of course we can't have that here because - bots....
Find all bonus loot crates, but get only two. Max Excavation and Scrying lvl.
I had the same happen to me and it wasn't in Blackwood.

Oops I meant Deadlands not Blackwood. Could that have been where it happened to you?

I don't remember, sorry. I usually let the leads accumulate and do them at the same time I'm out and about doing surveys.
