Being able to track what each character has done in the game, if you play them as individuals.
Immersion of players having a "Thief" title and achievement on a character who has never stolen anything.
There's 91 pages of "feedback" (I put in quotes because feedback usually means two way, which it wasn't), of all the different things players "lose" in this.
It's unbelievable that they would actually implement this in a game that quite heavily relies on those skyshards. I don't see any reason to start a new character unless there is a method to track which skyshards have been acquired.
Spending that amount of time running around the entire map just to discover you've got them is a pointless waster of time and effort.
If they went this route I would have expected them to grant the skyshards to all characters, not just wipe out all progress.
I see the problem with granting all the skyshards is the problem of the skill points. I guess they weren't willing to apply all those unearned skill points to the char, although they were willing to grant the the unearned acheev.

There's currently a bug with the zone guide where the list down the side shows dolmens, world bosses and delves as completed even before they're discovered if another character has done it. I think that's supposed to be fixed at some point but it hasn't been yet.
...
I've never cared about achievements and titles, but i can understand the frustration of people who do love them. I hope they have some kind of solution at some point.

I checked a quest in Summerset during PTS and the NPC recognized my non-Thief/Dark Brotherhood character as a Thief/Dark Brotherhood character.
And yeah, some dialogue and scenes are broken because they're tied to achievements. I don't know if ZOS is going to fix those or just ignore them. There's some things which have never been updated to accomodate One Tamriel because apparently ZOS is ok with the problems it causes. Although that's things which are more hassle than they need to be because you have to go back to your home alliance to do them, not things you can't do, so hopefully this update will be different.

The data is destroyed on the live server as soon as you've logged in.
Only if they do a rollback. And let's be honest, they won't that. They won't even acknowledge that there's issues with the implementation. Literal silence.
Where can I find when they claimed that this was for performance?

Yeah, when they changed the Bosmer lore a few years ago by revoking their god-given stealth and turning them into PvP sentries (which, by the way, is still not working as advertised), they never bothered to change any of the quests or NPC dialogues about the Right of Theft, or other stealth related things. Same thing with Argonian poison immunity. You can still hear Argonian NPCs talking about enjoying drinking poison.... which no longer fits with changes to the lore made by the combat team.
Point being, based upon their track record in that regard, I don't think any of the broken dialogue or NPC interactions will be fixed any time soon. My guess is they have their people focused on getting together a working card game that they can sell us this summer.
I like what they did with achievements. I don't get how going to point a pressing e for 10th time is immersion.
Hope they do the same for skyshard.

My data is perfectly fine and I haven't had any problems so far, but it's just me and I'm sure many others have problems. I hope they do something for those who are suffering. peace

The skyshard conundrum is mighty frustrating.
I still have characters that have not collected all of them.
I don't know if I have the patience to visit every skyshard location to check if I have collected it with that character or not.
Between the server woes, the camera woes and this my patience for today is depleted, I will reassess tomorrow when some has been replenished.
After reading the threads and looking at what's happened to my character it looks like what they did was merge all the data into one big lump rather than assess what the impact and implication would actually be, then ignore all player feedback???

Good for you. But you know what was clear throughout the 91 pages on the PTS forum? First, almost all of those who had wanted account-wide achievements didn't like the way they were being implemented because they hadn't anticipated it being at the expense of the character progression-tracking on their alts. Second, even most of those who weren't personally bothered by that recognised that it took away something important for those who played the game differently to them and they didn't like that. Third, pretty well no-one liked the fact that ZOS weren't even willing (or authorised) to engage with the players about it.
The idea of account wide achievements is turning out to be rejected by almost everyone I speak with. There are numerous postings in these forums that are also rejecting this idea.
Account wide achievements (in my opinion) will take away a character’s identity and uniqueness. Having a fresh level 3 running around with the Dragonslayer title (or others unearned) is simply ridicules. If you wish to make something account wide then perhaps wayshrine discovery, or maybe mount training.
