I really ought to make some kind of badge system at this point. ;)

/plops down with a basket of badges

I think with more people discovering triggers and animations, and more people now having EHT decorating contests with very large gold prize pots, that may be more and more likely!

Then my work here is done!
( But not really - EHT will keep getting better with feedback like yours <3 )

Does the "Doorbell: 1 of 24 visitors" chat notify function pass the visitor as an argument? I wonder if it's possible to hook into whatever event triggers the notification to grab visiting player info.

@ThoraldGM Don’t I wish. The API does not allow us any insight into who is in our homes; a creepy scenario given that you can see my Doorbell notification at random times and still be letting searching about your house for the visitor ... In your Own house.

@ZOS_ChipHilseberg @ZOS_GinaBruno @ZOS_JessicaFolsom I meant to ask if it would be possible to get Housing API access to visitor names, location, etc. and keep forgetting. This would actually avoid this creepy scenario as well as open up even more potential features for Essential Housing Tools. <3

+1 to that request. I animated a flying bone dragon and a Nord puzzle pillar that actually spins and unlocks the Hakkvild catacombs, but nobody can see it unless I am logged on and in the residence! :-(

This is true. While the 4 new API function for toggling items and for reading their state are awesome and have opened up the possibility for me to make Triggers and Home Automation features, all of the processing and logic still resides within Essential Housing Tools; so, you must be home for those features to work. But, when you are home, I think that your Dragon and your Puzzle Lock are guaranteed to impress ;)

(no, really - they are - I recommend seeing them)

Using the Molag Bal seal as the locked door. I think I'm going to cover up the blue ring of Daedric writing, then uncover it when it opens. The door will "wake up", glow blue, the seal spins, then the door drops. /MadScientist

4 out of 5 Barilzars agree - you can't awaken too many glowing blue seals.

Is there a limit to how many items can be "moved" in one frame? I have 17 items being moved for a scene and in each frame it shows in 2 parts but by the end of the frame its all moved so deleting a frame doesnt seem to help. So wondering if there is a limit there or if this might be based on video settings?
So far <3 ing the addon.

@Snowfaeriewings So glad that you are liking the add-on so far! As for the animation item limits: I have built in a maximum of 10 item adjustments per second to comply with the current Message Rate Limit imposed by the games' servers. Exceeding this limit would result in you being kicked back to the login screen after a few seconds -- similar to what can happen if you use an add-on like Dressing Room or AlphaGear and change your gear set up too many times in a row, too quickly.

With that said, I added a Setting to disable what I call "TrueMotion" if you prefer to see each individual item move instead of in blocks of 10 at a time. Also, I am not sure if this will stick or not, but I noticed today on the PTS that the Message Rate Limit of 10 adjustments/second may have been slightly increased; but I don't want to say anything too soon until I see it in practice on the Live servers after the launch of Murkmire. ;-) But, if the limit is increased, you can be sure that I will update Essential Housing Tools to work within the new limit at that point in time.

Thanks for the response that makes total sense.
After i posted this, the 10 at a time thing ended up creating a cool effect and working great for what i was using it for. So if there was a way to add a slight delay for items in the same animation (ie make it do what its doing now by choice) when the limit is raised that could be kinda cool too.

@Snowfaeriewings You are quite welcome - and, if I am understanding what you are looking for, that feature actually already exists.

By increasing the "Frame Duration" to be more than the default "0.1" seconds, you can extend how long that particular Frame is displayed for. Additionally, there's an "Update Remaining Frames" button that can change all of the subsequent frames' durations to match the current frame to expedite this process. I hope that helps and let me know if you have any questions!

do you have like, a user's manual for this addon? or lessons posted somewhere? I downloaded the addon, but it's way to complicated for me to understand just on my own.

@JJBoomer Sure do. A short series of tutorials. If you watch Video 1 & 2, you will already understand 90% of the functionality as the whole app is based on Selecting items... once you know how to Select the items you want to work with, you've practically mastered the add-on:

@R_K did a great job of teaching how to use the app. I pretty much felt I'd never be able to even create one "scene", but now I'm addicted. I figure, if I can learn it, anyone can :)

Since the patch today, my game was broken and I turned off addons and turned them back on to find the culprit. Well I was devasted when I found I got to Essential Housing tools and it broke again. When I have it on, I cannot do anything but chat, and use w a s d.. The rest gets disabled after the first window is opened or attempted to be opened. I have some screenshotted UI errors...

is there a way to Save the entire build and reload it if you don't like a new build. I want to experiment but don't want to loose my progress. Currently the only way i know how to do this is to select each item and that will take forever to save all 600 pieces.

You'd probably have been better making a new thread, as this one is from 2018, but to answer the question, yes you can.

You can either save a backup, which is instant, or you can select all items and export them to a text file. This second option is slower, but it means you can save the file to your PC in case the back up doesn't work.
