Make NPC or Companions marriable

    lol! Wat ever.....don't care!
I'm not interested . However, if others want that, why not? I really don't care as it will have no impact in any way on my side.

I recall in GW(the first one), we had the wedding of our two main NPCs. It was integrated as part of a long storyline. In a side sequence of quests, players had been involved to help them getting together. It was funny.
I'm out of my mind, feel free to leave a message... PC/NA

Maybe just the companions, and they can choose to clean out your bank and leave if their rapport drops too low >:)

Why? The only MMORPG that I have played that has romances is SWTOR and honestly, it was poorly done so that once you entered the romance, it was over and you could not speak to them again.

Yes, so I can have 10% exp bonus while my companion is by my side

I don't like this idea. Next thing you know some kind of love triangle (or some other polygon) happens between two (or more) of my characters and a companion and they want me to somehow intervene. I don't need that kind of pressure.

And if I tell them no I know my characters and they are going to do it anyway. Best to not even give them the option.

    I suspect I'd have a similar problem.

One of my ESO characters is one I use in several different RPGs, including some with romance options and we have an on-going problem that I think she has terrible taste in men and she thinks I'm being unfair. She always goes for either the wet blanket/lost puppy types so she can help build up their confidence or men with even worse impulse control and decision making than she has so they get into even worse trouble and of course I have to sort it out. Or both.

Eh, I wouldn't mind it being added but I'm not very interested either, because it would be such a bare bones thing. Going by other Bethesda "romances" like Skyrim's and Fallout 4.

It would just be a quest or some dialogue and suddenly my character and this companion/npc are a couple and they might add "dear" to their dialogue to my character. Only mmo with decent "romance" is SWTOR and that game is very heavily built on it's story dialogue along with character interactions and progress.

Can I just have dialogue for an attempt to marry options for NPCs? I just want to make all the quest giver's awkward by asking them to marry me out of nowhere and them turning me down. Sotha Sil? Daddy Dagon? Molag Bal? King Emeric? Abnur Tharn? Let me just be able to ask them and watch them get really weirded out with me XD

I would find this acceptable even though how it would be so weird, mostly because it's amusing to my horrible humour. I'm sure I even have a character that would ask this, mostly to annoy, but still.
Imagine asking Dagon in Blackwood after a threatening monologue of his:
    "Will you marry me?"
    "...what?"
"I have a weakness for voices, handiness, and destructive relationships" B)

Here’s an idea, how about they work on giving them a personality first then make them marriageable…?

When the companions in this game are brought up to the level of the most boring companion in fallout four, then they will be worth considering for further options, until then, hearing them spout the same three random lines of flavour dialogue and not even comment on the specific city you happen to be in renders them pretty pointless

    Did a minor mistake,
    The first poll is

    And
    The fourth poll is NPC
( Typing error due to phone)

The number one quality of this game excluding the pvp, is the fact that this game is sort of a sequel to Skyrim, and Skyrim-like features make the game playable outside of PVP. I am all for NPC/Companion romance, I think for the companions devs already mentioned romance was coming but suddenly flipped the card game bomb instead.

No to existing NPCs, because it would mess up the quests and lore, but yes to companions, they could add the option to start a second quest line when achieving maximum rapport, that eventually leads to a romantic outcome, or ring of Mara ceremony, etc., but it should be optional and not affect any other companion features.

    But but Almalexia...

It can't really be a sequel to Skyrim.... that game is like 1k years in the future. I guess you could call it a prequel.

Sequel not lore-wise but in the sense that it carries the flag where Skyrim left off. Not in every way, but in some ways. And those ways happen to make ESO more enjoyable for me.

Oh, well, I guess you can see it that way. I just live in each of the games in their own eras (though I can't actually play Arena or Daggerfall any more unfortunately....) So in ESO I'm settled into the second era, with no empire; and when I go back to Oblivion I'm in the third era with the emperor dead, and my character looking for his heir; when I arrive in Skyrim (the TES V one I mean) I'm firmly in the fourth era unhappy with both the Empire and the Stormcloaks....

    I'm sorry - sometimes I'm too literal.

No worries :) Immersion in a storyline also is very important for me with these kinds of games. That's the reason why I think NPC/Companion romance should be added. I have not seen a story, movie, novel, etc. in my life that did not have bits of romance in it, so I think to myself, why should my character's story in ESO lack such a component? Of course some players could prefer to stay celibate as per their own story goes, or some people may not be interested in any kinds of RP, but there are some players like myself who wished their characters did not have to cut all ties with certain NPC's after certain encounters, because on their imagination that's how they would like to conclude/continue their own storylines.

Well, yes - that's an each to her own sort of thing. I - find it not something I'm interested in at all. But I wouldn't mind if it was something that got added for those who want it. As long as it's optional.

Given the relatively limited interaction with NPCs in this game, I don't really see the point.

It was pretty shallow & pointless in Skyrim, it'd be more so here. (with the added bonus of the "everyone is surrounded by companion clones" effect)

I could see that being used for game drama though... "Are you walking around with Mirri? WHAT ARE YOU DOING WITH MY WIFE!!!" ;)

Romances seem to work with companion/npcs in other mmos I've played, and are very popular too. No need for players who aren't interested to get involved with that part of a storyline, or a need for them to be aware of that storyline for other players. Doesn't have to be lurid or lascivious either.

I'm all for a bit of romance, snogging and the odd rummage in a game, particularly if it's well written. So yes please!

In which ones? I have yet to see romance and marriage in other MMOs, though admittedly I haven't played too many. The nearest I have come to marriage in an MMO was in LOTRO, where there is some kind or ringbearer. ;)

I am not against romance per se, but I cannot imagine the implementation would please anyone at this point. :(

As an unexpected surprise Sheogorath would say yes. But it would end the MG plotline unresolved, as you would adopt a certain NPC as your child. (Trying not to spoil here.) ;)

I would find it ironic, and more than a tad blasphemous, to marry Almalexia using a rite of Mara. :p

The options were too convoluted and lacked a simple no for what is a yes or no question.

    So my answer is no.

Standard NPCs in the game, and especially in stories, should never be marriable. The storyline characters are too significant for such a trivial notion. Companions, maybe. But even then I have found marriage to companions to be fairly empty in meaning. Anyone can pretend they are married to their companion and it is pretty much the same thing.

That doesn't negate what I've said. Skyrim came out first and ESO second regardless. ESO has many references from Skyrim and from the previous games as well.

I wish they would make companions open to character creation. Sure you get a certain race, but you create how they look and their sex. That would be a nice feature. They would need to hire another voice actor for the 20 lines they give them, but really, I think it would be nice for them to do.
