Make NPC or Companions marriable

Oh no please don't. There are so many games where you can do just that and its so off-putting to no end how every pixelboy and girl can be romanced with that it sometimes leads to me questioning humanity as a whole how people can even be interested in something like in this first place lol. Take games like SWTOR for example. Most questlines have this weird touch of craziness inside because of romance option here and there, but without the option to just disable these annoyances. Quests get literally ruined by it and all immersion is gone so fast, since it pulls any seriousness or danger onto ridiculous levels. In ESO everything would turn into some kind of elven teenage twilight vamp wolf kissy kissy session left and right. Not mention those who will spam chats about weird things like how they find pixels attractive and such for some reason and are also the people who make those conversations become a unbearable toxic fest of sexism and politics in the end. Had enough of this in SWTOR already don't need this in ESO too. So thanks, but no thanks!

I am married in RL. See, if you go out the door, all you have to do is open your eyes and you will notice actual humans everywhere that are already marriable. Play RL enough and you will never feel the need to let pixels take over this part.

Family life is true endgame anyways! ;)

This has nothing to do with real life. It's a story my characters are involved in. They are not me. I'm married IRL, and I'd like for some of my characters to also have that joy in their story at some point. I even RP two of my alts as already being married to each other, even though they can't actually ever be together in game. I'm a heterosexual happily married woman, and I have male characters who I'd like to have a wife just as much as my female characters would like to have husbands. Maybe I'll make one of my male characters have a husband. I plan to keep a couple of them single as they have no time for love or family. They're stories. They have no bearing on my real life. I play my characters like a writer writing a story.

As for my previous comments in this thread, since this is weeks later, I changed my mind, make NPCs as well as companions marriageable. We each exist in our own mini TES universe, and ESO is a multiverse with all of us together online being the one Vestige, so whatever my characters do doesn't have any bearing on what another player does. Let us marry our favorite NPCs.

Phew! Glad for this advice. I read the works of Jane Austen a few years back, and suddenly every man on Earth could never measure up to Mr. Darcy. All 3.97 billion men. I ended up marrying Darcy post haste in my mind. And then when I finally escaped, he took half my money (in the form of donations to stuff I assumed he'd like) in the divorce. Then I realized whoa *** ***, no more fictional husbandos for me. So I started watching romantic comedies. Let's just say I'm no longer allowed to write fan mail to Matthew McConaughey after watching Failure to Launch. I guess celebrities don't like it when you pester them for a wedding ring when you've never met them. More like How to Lose a Guy's Twitter Access in 13 days, ammirite. Anyway, if they had a romanceable companion, I shudder to think about all those crowns I'd have to spend on him! Thanks for the save!

I don't get this "go outside and meet real people rather than get married to an NPC in a game" or "this is all just pixels, why would you want romance" criticism. I'm pretty sure everyone in this thread knows that ESO is a game and we're all playing make-believe with pixels. My characters aren't me, they're characters. They're all different concepts with different likes, dislikes, goals, views, etc. Some of them I conceive of as having romantic interest in others. I'm not trying to live vicariously through my magblade having a crush on Revus Demnevanni or my magDK being into Bastian.

From that same point of view you could argue that spending time playing games is getting in the way of experiencing RL.

Excuse me, I will waste my time however I please.

If someone wants to get married and buy their fake spouse fake expensive fake gifts, that's totally up to them.

This would be better than marrying companions or npc's IMO. And they should be able to meet each other within a house by having your alts available as "houseguests".
