1) Complaining is constructive criticism that makes the game better. Not complaining just gets you more of the same or worse and the depression that comes with "just accepting your fate", in any situation.

2) We don't need to know how development works.
We just need to know the obvious fact that there are other games out there, bigger AND smaller and newer and especially older, that don't let obvious easy to test for mistakes get to the live environment without being noticed and fixed before that. (Edit: The lesson is "learn from past mistakes, and especially learn from other people's mistakes so you can avoid them your first time".)


FYI, developers actually have the ability to make test cells, which were those secret rooms we found in every single player Elder Scrolls game with chests of items, to test game functionality in a controlled environment that doesn't matter if it hits live because only the developers have access to the necessary console commands to get there(which is how we got there in the single player games really).
They also have the ability to spawn any enemy they want anywhere with console commands. They could create a character without the achievement, or just console command delete the achievement from their list, and spawn a Trove Scamp and defeat it with godmode cheats to test if the achievement grants and even have another character on a second instance of the game running to test if both get it when one gets the killing blow, which is an already established mechanic that affects many things in this game so is logical to test for.

I've never worked as a game developer, just played games for 25+ years, and I could think of a hundred different things that could go wrong with anything and ways to fix/avoid almost every one of those problems. It doesn't take a signed diploma saying "I spent this much money and time" to know simple "possible issues + human behavior = likely issues" logic.
