So, which sets don't proc each other anymore?

Fixed numerous issues where sets that weren’t based on damage or healing were not properly labeled as such, creating confusion where some sets that applied buffs or crowd control could still trigger other sets when the core rule is that procs should not trigger other procs.

The only time a set should directly trigger another set is when a set activates a core combat skill or event, such as Dodging, Blocking, or applying a Status Effect. The most noticeable fix with this is where sets such as Aegis Caller or Thunder Caller could trigger Dark Convergence, or where Dark Convergence could trigger Hrothgar, leading to insane wombo combos from one minor input.

I'm not entirely clear which sets are actually affected by this change.

For instance, I run Night Mother's Gaze, which applies Major Breach on crit, with Ravager, which increases weapon/spell damage on lowering an enemies defenses.
Under these new conditions, will Ravager no longer be procced when NMG applies Major Breach?
Or is applying Major Breach considered a core combat skill, such as applying a Status Effect?

It seems that they finally did that, as previously there were very little sets that won't proc other sets if conditions mentioned in description were met by other procs.

First, combo you mentioned no longer works
Second, my favorite example of procs procing procs - cast unmorphed circle of protection which does nothing but creates a circle with 2 named buffs -> this procs winter respite because of ground effect -> this procs prayer shawl because of winter's respite overheal -> this procs (well 50%) infernal guardian because of prayer's shield
Third, my favorite endless proc cycle - syvarra + pillar of nirn + sellistrix, could slowly kill prercursor on it's own after firing one single light attack

This "RULE" only exists in three years old patch notes and now current patch notes and nowhere in the game it is mentioned. Current behavior in live matches set description, i.e. all sets in third example require to just deal damage, so any damage counts. Likewise, infernal guardian requires any shield, including psijic block and CP shields, but trinimac explicitly states that it needs damage shield ability, so won't trigger from non-ability sourced shields I mentioned.

    Anyway, RIP creative set combos.

Great, that makes the whole setup decon fodder. Same for my Defiled Dragon + Ravager setup for a DD/tank Hybrid.

I could be upset about all the AP I spent on Ravager items, but I'm mostly disappointed that this kills the one fun Stamsorc build I could find for PvP. Did these synergies really bother anyone?

Some of the interactions that still work:
Elf bane still extends grothdar duration and draugrkin grip adds damage to grothdar ticks
Lady thorn self synergy still triggers alkosh

And by the way, Alkosh PEN bonus still only applies from WEAPON damage only, only damage part scales with either SD or WD. ZOS please, make it usable on mag.

Also, this too. Just recently they were talking about change fatigue and how they don't want to force players to re-gear every patch, and yet here we are again... all this golded out reconstructed niche gear that was only good for memes to begin with, is now going to be even more useless than it was. None of the builds involving procs procing procs were even close to meta in either PvE or PvP, and yet they still want to take these options away.

I wouldn't mind if I could just swap my loadouts using everything ever unlocked like in Call of Duty, but all these investments into gear farming in 30 dungeon runs, inventory space to hold it, gold upgrade materials, transmutes for retraiting, leveling specific skill lines on an alt for build to work and then they just go "yeah well lol forget that". We are not talking about slight number tuning to bring overperforming sets in line, but removing interesting interactions that were in game for years... If crit stacking is a thing, why proc stacking can't be?

I guess Leeching Plate (procs when hit) will no longer proc Bahraha's Curse (procs when doing damage). Oh well.

Best way imho to proc Ravager is with Razor Caltrops as it applies Major Breach each time it does damage, so every second, which is how often Ravager can proc anyway.

my main character currently uses leeching to help proc valkyn skoria (as skoria just requires DoT dmg)

would this combo still work under the new rules?

if not then i might have to actually change my build after 5 years lol

i have my main house (grand topal hideaway) listed in the housing tours, it has multiple target dummies, scribing altar, and grandmaster stations (in progress being filled out), as well as almost every antiquity furnishing on display to preview them

Now it is getting weird, leeching is procing Valkyn, as well as other "on damage" sets that I already had unpacked, sellistrix, syvarra, bahraha. It is not poisoned status effect, but leeching proc itself.

@Snamyap pinging you to bring bahraha/leeching to your attention

i dont have test server downloaded to actually test my build

but i use skoria on live right now, leeching + skoria + brands of imperium makes for a great "afk tank" combo (ive literally afk'd in a mob of normal enemies and they kill themselves attacking me, they proc leeching, which is dot dmg which then can proc skoria, and leeching + imperium keeps me healed)

Problem with caltrops is that Stamsorc skill bar space is at a premium, so rolling three effects - healing, debuffing and buffing - into landing a crit was very efficient, even if it took 2 sets. It wasn't meta by any means, and yet ...

I wonder if there's any build that won't get nerfed next patch.
