An island where everyone is high? Oh dear and I thought my High Elf needed a break from that already.....

I have very low expectations and unless I see something surprising it's the first chapter I won't buy in my time playing (joined during Elsweyr, bought Skyrim and Blackwood pre-release).

Retconning the existence of an entire zone never mentioned anywhere in the huge, expansive lore until like, three months ago, raises all sorts of logical issues for the lore of the whole series, and since I'm presuming they're not going to fundamentally realter their map of Nirn to accommodate said retcon we can gather that it's probably going to be the tiniest chapter zone yet by a considerable distance. I'm kinda expecting something on the level of Clockwork City, even though that was a Q4 DLC.

Tbh adding things that never existed before is not exactly new. Soltsheim for instance was invented by TES 3 with no previous records of its existence in lore before.

    This.

I am pretty excited but at the same time, I am trying to be realistic. With this new island, they can do anything, add creatures or even races thought to be gone or even add new stuff not in lore.

I’m excited for new stuff and land masses, the series in general (in my view) has kinda got stagnant with everything just on Tamriel, there is a whole planet of nirn, oblivion, aetherius, even other planets within mundus. Plenty of new place to go than just the same land mass….on the other hand I want the current map filled up as well….want it all….I’m greedy.

There's a big difference between TES 3, at which point the series lore was still quite scarce, and now, after Morrowind, Oblivion, Skyrim and ESO to date.

True but Bretons needed a new landmass for a chapter-based around them, same with Bosmer when they come around. Plus, you could just easily say that between when ESO takes place and Morrowind the island was destroyed.

    - 6 delves
    - 6 world bosses
    - 18 Skyshards
    - 2 public dungeons where both of them will require you to find items to finish a collectable
    - 1 trial
    - 1 new incursion event
    - 1 hub town where you can do writs
    - 1 smaller town with 1 or 2 quests

A quest line where you are assisted by "Insert returning character" and someone who turns out to be the Princess of that region to slay someone who is not the Big Bad, but you will encounter the Big Bad in the final quest but he will leave and you will only get to slay them during the epilogue, I am sorry but this has been the release formula for the last several years and describes the past several chapters.

And maybe 2 New dungeons with overpowered gear sets, that gets nerfed next patch
    NB enthusiastic:

    4. Cyrodiil-Refugee stamblade - Stamina Tank / PvE

Is that a different name for Shivering Isles ? :D

Jokes aside, I have no idea what new system we are going to see. Personally I hope that... none actually. I think that game imho has too many systems already. I kinda hope that instead of adding new systems, ZOS will improve existing ones. I kinda expect new companions (2 with every new chapter), just like they keep adding new mythics with every new zone (new OP mythics - those I also expect to see).

Along with Iceheart for some reason.
So they raised the floor and lowered the ceiling. Except the ceiling has spikes in it now and the floor is also lava.

I will be exited when any of the above is not true... Will buy it nonetheless, I like questing, but a bit of variety would be great. Too bad I already know now that I will indeed save the day, again.

There will be 4 dungeons, but this question was about the chapter, not dungeon DLCs.

Tbh they can always say that High Isle will get its name changed to Delese (a significant part of high rock according to two old lorebooks we never seen ever anywhere else)

In fact no need to change the name. If Dellese is an archipelago as stated by the wiki, then the isles inside it can have their own names.

I am excited for new architecture, and for a new vibrant landmass :) I hope it's really nicely 'filled in' like vvardenfell and summerset chapters were - but please don't be as empty as greymoor.
I always love the colourful lush zones like summerset and auridon, so I'm hoping for that. I also enjoy exploring new cultures and quests, and the teaser has some great looking architecture, so that'll make for great housing plans :)

Thanks for posting the name of the chapter in your thread title, I've been trying to avoid spoilers and even though this is what had already been suggested it would have been nice if you hadn't put it in your title

This so much. The Elder Scrolls Universe's purpose is to serve as the setting for the game. It isn't like LOTR where games are developed around an event or era in the source material. Elder Scrolls is a game series first and foremost. The lore is intentionally vague and has gaps where games can fill it in. The games ARE the source material. Introducing a new place in a game is the primary way of adding that place to the Elder Scrolls universe.
previously @HaruKamui but I outgrew my weeb phase (probably)

However the next chapter turns out, I won't be buying at launch. Give it a few months and it will likely be heavily discounted, just as the most recent chapter was.
