There's a big difference between TES 3, at which point the series lore was still quite scarce, and now, after Morrowind, Oblivion, Skyrim and ESO to date.

Tbh they can always say that High Isle will get its name changed to Delese (a significant part of high rock according to two old lorebooks we never seen ever anywhere else)
