Are the guild and other similar instanced missions INTENTIONALLY only solo? or is it a bug?

I know these missions have been like this since beta - I reported it. Doshia's Lair and some other instanced missions are STILL not doable by a team - because teammates are invisible and replaced with a "v' shaped arrow. Are these missions SUPPOSED to be done solo only? Or is this just another bug - albeit a biggie.

There are, by design, multiple types of dungeons in ESO. Public dungeons (a few instances, with loads of players in each), group dungeons (instanced for groups so that the only players in the instance are the ones in the group), and solo dungeons (instanced by player). It's not a bug (although I have a feeling I'm forgetting a dungeon type).

Welcome to The Elder Scrolls Online, The MMORPG that lets you can play any way you want to, as long as it's solo. o:)

Even in the higher ranks the public dungeons become a solo mission...feels much like a solo game most of the time.

It is basically LAZY game design that they can't take the time to have the quests scale in difficulty to your group size. If you are going to form a company that is supposed to be built to develop MMO's and then FORCE single player game play you may as well just get the hell out of the business of making MMO's.

If I start a group and we are on a quest and we need to pick up say 10 items as soon as ONE member of the group picks up an item ALL group members item count should go up by ONE. It is simple and proper multiplayer game design however the Zenimax team is obviously only able to design single player game play because ESO has NONE of that.

I'll add that even the main quest line is solo-only instanced.

My wife and I have decided to unsubscribe until the developers fix this. If we wanted a solo-only game, we have a plethora of older TES gams from which to choose, vice paying a monthly fee for the privilege of being forced into solo-only instancing.

Sometimes, a group mate will follow you into a solo instances. Happened to me of To Walk the Far shores.

If you know of a way to make that happen, I'm all ears. My wife shows up only as a group arrow.

So the intent was to force solo-only play for the main quest line and the two most popular side quest lines?

If that's the case, I'm done with this game, and I'm hardly alone. If I wanted solo-only play in a TES game, we've every TES game prior to this one from which to choose.

If it is intentional - they need to do something to let people know. Right now it looks and feels like a bug.

Yeah it's an MMO where you can't help your friend in his story quest. And on the ones you can, you will get seperated by phases or shards, and you'll end up seeing him as a white arrow.

First report on that issue, and the fact it totally breaks mmo-type game spirit I posted somewhere like 8 months ago in one of closed betas, then I continued to post it EVERY BETA SESSION.

    Seems they cared.

Well, some quests have that, but they're the free for all ones. I've had it multiple times that I have a quest, haven't done anything toward it yet but just by being in the neighborhood, someone else finishes it and I get it shown as finished as well. E.g. saving four villagers in Crosswych, in Glenumbra. I swear, I didn't save them, but I got the quest because someone else in the neighborhood managed to save them. Shrug.

What I particularly hate by now is that we're going into quests with multiple players, even get onto the end-boss with multiple players but the boss himself you have to do alone and the boss is not alone. He can spawn anything from 3 to 5 helpers that you have to dodge and kill. More often than not you will also find that having dodged and killed the spawned helpers, that the boss has vanished and that you have to start over. Yeah, right. I'm in this game for my pleasure, not to have my blood pressure past boiling point and me about to throw my mouse and keyboard out the window.

Any day now and I quit this and go back to Skyrim, if only because the NPCs there have more lines to say than the continued repeat of whatever single line they are allowed to say. Really, I won't go to Daggerfall anymore due to the 'conversation' by Orlugash gra-Bulz and Esteve Brousseau, who owns me so many ales, I can start my own brewery.

    Jord.

does teaming work for the final "main Quest" after you've finished Coldharbour and hit level 50? That Titan kind of kicked my ass.
