Positive community and negative on the game.

You know how you guys are irritated on cyro performance? Multiply that by may be twice and that what we people from OCE/Asia feel.

It’s the best damn pvp combat though so can’t really get off it. Lol

Hmmm, this may sound weird... But I have had better luck with a positive PvP community than PvE.

I'm not sure how endgame I am though. I have 3 PvP characters, I have been part of a PvP guild and tried organized PvP in Cyro which was fun, but I prefer BGs. Don't see much hate whispers and bad ethics in PvP. Hope I don't jinx it.
I see some fair share of complaining maybe from PvP community ,which I don't see much from PvE.
But I think the PvP community is maybe a bit more welcoming ,even though we're trying to kill each other which is kinda funny lol. It is probably the best behaved PvP community for any game I think I have witnessed. I know there's some competitive feuds going on, but on a hole I think its a nice community honestly.

I play in ravenwatch so… maybe that’s not “end game” pvp but it is to me. I have fully developed toons I just prefer it. So… for me… lag isn’t really an issue at all and other performance issues are tolerable. The majority of my negative feelings come from the toxicity of zone or even guild chats and the tendency of alliance populations not being online at the same time, logging after losing 1 decent fight, or just zerging the crap out of the faction that isn’t threatening instead of contending with an online emperor.

I like winning the campaign, yes, and I totally Zerg people down 100 times a day. So I’m not perfect. But. Sometimes, when I see someone good or that I recognize on the other team, I’ll give them a 1v1. Or if I see a fair fight happening I’ll refrain from jumping in. I don’t see enough of this happening. Normally when it looks like someone is challenging me to a 1v1 I walk behind the rocks and get ganked by two nbs I didn’t know were there and then bagged by the guy who I thought I was gonna duel.

So. Yeah. Good fights are hard to find. That’s my main problem.

Positive: meet some great ppl, like the pvp...
Negative: when it works which often is not the case, meet some awful ppl

Overall when works it feels great but now? Cyro is not working, BG with high MMR are pretty boring so I'm running IC but sometimes it is hard to PvP there

At the moment, most of my friends I used to raid with in Cyrodiil have given up hoping for performance improvements and went to New World.

I didn't follow them, but until ZOS actually fixes Cyrodiil, I don't spend anywhere near as much time there as I used to. It's too frustrating to deal with the lag and crashes during prime time.

Until ZOS fixes Cyrodiil, I'm gonna end up as one of those casual Midyear Mayhem players enjoying it while we've got the better performance it magically gets during events and then leaving afterward when it reverts back to normal.

It was ok until a couple of months ago, now the PvP lag is so bad it's not worth it (and no it's not my connection and PvE is mostly fine - or at least no worse than before).

Roll on the new servers and then we'll find out if it's saveable.

Partly the performance, partly the declining population, partly it's just not very good pvp. Nowadays everyone's running in circles at 200%, jiggling around behind boxes, or playing hide and seek... Get's old. Haven't been in since early November though so maybe things have improved. When it worked, and you actually got a fight though, it was good. And, as other's have said, I found the pvp community frendlier than the pve. Less pulling out your dps and measuring it anyway.

Not really sure what endgame PvP but regarding the community it is amazing. In m y experience PvP community if far much more welcoming than the PVE people even tho they belive different.
I joined a PVP guild some months back and everyone was super helpful and nice,in guild chat people give tips and advices, there is no trash talk or toxic behaviour of any kind.

Cyrodiil is and always was for me,a bug fest but lately it got a tiny bit better in performance. Some months ago I wasnt able to participate in bigger fights and nowadays it sort of works unless there are like 100 players chasing the hammer.

Battlegrounds could be fun if the queue would work differently and we would finally get to play other modes than DM.

I fight, I die, I win, and I lose. It's fun when it works, a chore when it lags, and infuriating when I have to 1vX the same ball group over and over again.... Yet being the stubborn person I am I keep going back for more knowing if I cause enough of a rukus I can keep their spawn points flagged till I get help from my fellow DC. Planetside 2 thought process of make every death count because if you're going to die might as well accomplish something.

Two sides to it in my opinion.

    1. Community
Not had any bad experiences, every has players they don't necessarily like or get along with, but the majority of the community is welcoming. Considering how much the community has shrunk it's not worth holding grudges anymore imo.
Obviously many do exist but content is content.

    2. Performance
Terrible. Trying to play in Cyrodiil is impossible and even BGs seem laggy and unresponsive at times. Which is a big fat negative.

You could have the best community in the world, when the game doesn't work the PvP will suffer. Unfortunately this is what has happened over the years and community has diminished along with the performance.

When it works, you can end up having a grand old time that you won't get from PvE. However when skills aren't working and things are overly laggy, every victory and defeat just feels wrong.

Witchmother's Potent Brew (Increase Max Magicka by 2856, Max Health by 3094, and Magicka Recovery by 315 for 2 hours.
    • Trash Potions when feeling cheap: Regular CP150 Essence of Magicka pots that I obtain frequently from playing the game or Crown Tri-Restoration Potion obtained from dailies.
    • Crafted Potions: Essence of Spell Critical (Bugloss, Lady's Smock, and Water Hyacinth). Without magelight this is my primary means of obtaining Major Prophecy on my Sorc, which increases my Spell Critical Rating. This also heals and restores magicka. Essence of Immovability (Columbine, Corn Flower, and Wormwood). I use this in PvP, since this gives me stealth detection, knockback immunity, and restores magicka (better to use it when competent allies are nearby, since it might reveal that you are surrounded by multiple players in stealth and you will not have an emergency pot available after use). Essence of Invisibility with only 2 ingredients (Blue Entoloma, Namira's Rot, Nirnroot, or Spider Egg). I use this in PvE content that requires stealth and if I need more speed I'll use Rapid Maneuver before using the potion. Essence of Invisibility with 3 ingredients (Blessed Thistle, Blue Entoloma, and Namira's Rot). Very useful in PvP alongside the vampire Dark Stalker passive, since you'll be invisible, ignore movement speed penalty while in Crouch, and you'll have a 30% movement speed boost from Major Expedition (I always have this slotted when riding from point A to B in PvP land, since gankers are always lurking). My templar/arcanist will mostly use Essence of Health (Tri-Stat Potion) Ingredients: (Mountain Flower, Columbine, and Bugloss).

I think I can echo what others have said above. From a design perspective, the PVP in this game is better than any others I have seen. The performance is disappointing to say the least and stated throughout these forum threads. But the community is very good. In zone chat, there are frustrations expressed with certain players or actions but they are short lived and soon forgotten. There is a very strong spirit of camaraderie shared, (at least with my EP faction in Greyhost/NA. I’ve only ever played EP so I couldn’t say what the other faction’s player’s experience is).

I’ve been online only a couple of times during the current Greyhost campaign and once in the Blackreach, (mostly because of my issues with low pop bonus). But even with the lopsided scoring in both, the friendliness and camaraderie are what make the game enjoyable despite the performance issues.

If the performance could be fixed, even for my comrades in Oceania, we would never mention any other games in this forum.

    Generally Positive
Positive: There is nothing in this game that will match an hour long, three faction fight for the last emperor keep. Nothing.

Positive: The PVP community is way less toxic that your average PVE pug dungeon.

Positive: Combat is dynamic, interesting and usually very challenging.

Negative: Suprise! It's performance! I think staying out of the main vet campaign I feel less issues with the performance, but it still exists. Frustrating when it happens, but I think it is honestly better than a couple of years ago.

All in all, positives outweigh negatives.

House of Dibella - If you have ever seen or read "Memoirs of a Geisha" that's just the beginning...
Nibenay Valley Chapterhouse - Where now stands only desolate ground and a dolmen there once was a thriving community supporting one of the major chapterhouses of the Order Draconis

    Some Positive and Negative
If my PVP guild is running in Cyrodiil , it's usually a fun time. :) We are mostly Oceanic players so often lag can spoil our fun... but when the performance is OK, we have fun.

I often pop into IC & run around solo & die a lot. Still mostly fun times... gain some tv, lose some tv.

As with most PVP centric players... when the performance is good, game is fun. There can still be frustration that is inherent in PVP.. but it makes the wins all the sweeter.

(edit) & just having played some Cyrodiil just now in Blackreach... omg, the skill delay is massive. I press the key for a skill, the sound plays, the animation starts.. then nothing. Often even the resource is used but no skill actually goes off. When it's like this ^^^^, it just can't be fun. It can on'y be futility.

I love the PvP but the lag from Australia kills any hope I've actually enjoying it.

There's always a group in Cyro willing to have me when I jump in, and no one questions my qualifications. I had a great experience with the PvP guild I joined too. I couldn't stick around because they played the same time as my PvE friends who I know IRL, but it was a great group.
My #1 wish for ESO Today: Decouple achievements from character progress and tracking.

I hate to be this guy. But went with Negative.

Haven't PvP'd in a while since Dark Convergence sucked all the life out of the game. I mainly login and PvE or do Trade stuff for now.

But things like DC broke the game for me, as well as other things and it just never felt the same afterwards.
