Cant gift houses with gold?

Hi I'm trying to gift my friend a house with gold. I thought you could purchase some houses with gold? Coldharbour surreal house can be bought with gold or crowns but when I go to gift it, it only gives the crown price. Is this a bug?

You can only gift people crown store items.
I mean, you can send them the gold in game.0
You can make gifts only with crowns.
