Cant gift houses with gold?

Hi I'm trying to gift my friend a house with gold. I thought you could purchase some houses with gold? Coldharbour surreal house can be bought with gold or crowns but when I go to gift it, it only gives the crown price. Is this a bug?

    it is not a bug it is a feature :/ You can make gifts only with crowns.

    No, it's not a bug.

    You can only gift people crown store items.

    I mean, you can send them the gold in game.
