What's your biggest pet peeve?

  • HuskyRook941840
Talking in trials, beyond calling out mechs or announcing rezzes. I've been in some vet trials with some groups, and someone in there is invariable talking a blue streak about nothing anyone else cares about, frequently repeating themselves multiple times, loudly.

Example: "GetTheResGetTheResGetTheResGetTheResGetTheResGetTheRes!!!!!!!!" I heard you the first five times, and nobody could hear me saying "rezzing Chatterbox" because you were talking over me, STFU already. Or someone needs to be rezzed, and not only can I not see where they are, I can't ask them because someone's yammering about dinner they had three months ago with their ex. (Or, I can ask, but nobody can hear me, and I can't hear the answer...).

This has been a huge peeve for me for years; I finally realized that it's related to my pet peeve about people yammering on conference calls at work. There's always at least one person on the call who has to opine about everything under the sun just to hear themselves talk and to make sure everyone knows how important they are.

Lately it has been the increasing amount of game play "carrots" barely disguised as a way to change how often I log into the game, but advertised as nice rewards.

Unique daily login rewards that appear late in the month, the cap on transmute crystals, the cap on event tickets, community rewards that must be claimed in the Crown Store for a limited time only, variable rewards per endeavor.... all of these things are designed so you miss out if you aren't the type of person that can log in every single say... when they wouldn't have to be.
My #1 wish for ESO Today: Decouple achievements from character progress and tracking.

Mine is when people announce in zone they need help with a World Boss but don't say where the boss is. For example Big Bad Boss is located at This Spot. Don't say "Need help with Big Bad Boss." Say "Need help with Big Bad Boss at This Spot." because This Spot is what it says on the map. It doesn't say the name of the boss that is located there.

Which brings me to my second pet peeve. The map should say Big Bad Boss when I hover over This Spot, thus eliminating the pet peeve above.

Good advice for people who are looking for help. Because I've neglected to help people with world bosses I otherwise would have because they didn't say the location. A lot of us haven't memorized the names of all the world bosses, so you're better off just saying the location.

My biggest peeve is that my front bar and back bar don't gain xp when I use both during a fight.

Have to say, New World managed to get that right. If you use one bar, that weapon gets full xp from the mob/quest. If you use both, it is split evenly between them.

Why is this still a thing in ESO all these years later.

That visually weapons are way out of range of your character, but can still hit you. Some enemies have a huge range on their sword/axe/mace. If something is going to hit me with their sword, it should LOOK like the weapon at least comes somewhere near me. This was something that drove me away from the game initially.

Also sorc flappy bird needs to be much smaller. There is no reason for it to be so large and obscuring the group healer's view. The option to reskin it would be nice, but if that isn't an option, at least make it half or a third the size.

Pet peeve from players: Asking for a crafter in zone, then expecting /them/ to buy their mats for them, then not know what they want, take a really long time, then when they're finally done, not tip for taking 45 min + of your time.

Pet peeve from the game: Not being to improve multiple items at the same time, since we can decon multiple items at the same time. Come on, let me agree to consume X amount of improvement mats to improve them per level of improvement, and let me save time!

Dungeon rushers. I understand wanting a fast run but often times dragging all mobs as you rush ahead leaves you stuck in combat and the run ends up being longer, not to mention its also rude and inconsiderate to other players.

I'm gonna rename one of my in-game cats "Peeve" so I can have a pet peeve. Then I'll have something meaningful to contribute here.

My niece used to have a bearded dragon named Peeves. So she literally had a pet peeves. He was a cute little lizard, too.

I'm one who frequently calls out in zone chat for help with world bosses when I'm doing dailies. I agree that it is nice when people say the name of the boss and the area that it's called on the map. I don't have every zone memorized, so if someone calls out for help with Mr. Dooky the world boss, but don't mention that Mr. Dooky is at Grass Stain Junction, I have no idea where to find the person to give aid without having to ask for more info or group with the person requesting help.

Thanks for the reminder about what addons help with this. Xbox peasant here. No such thing.

Lots of them, but one of the biggies is players running through delves and public dungeons without fighting and dragging the mobs behind them, and having them reset just as I get to their spot.

I'm afraid I'm guilty of this sometimes. I don't always have the patience to fight a gazillion mobs on the way to my objective, but mostly when I'm finished and just want to get back to the entrance.

I like to skip most of the mobs when I'm running through a delve. But I don't usually drag them. I main a nightblade and just invisible my way through to the quest objective. Then I'll fight whatever I have to there, to get the thing. Then I invisible out. If you're not a nightblade, you can make potions to be invisible. But even fully leveled, my invisibility potions only last through half of the cooldown.

Thats the reason I stopped crafting for people who ask in zone chat.A lot expect it to be crafted for free, once you say it wont be free they want to pay the bare minimum what does not even cover the mats costs, they often want specific styles and expect you to know every single motif in the game, most people dont tip you for your work/time investment.

    - NPCS that can shoot you through walls in Cyrodiil and take you out of stealth

    - Any mechanism that drags you back when you're sprinting through the skyshard grind (Stranglers suck)

    - Any stuns, they just suck and I wish they didn't exist but I know they're there to slow you to make you grind longer

Noble prize for douchebaggery for whomsoever decided:

"You know what'd be fun? - Slowing the mobility of characters - People will love that"

    - Necro blastbones that can't be summoned when you're targeting someone and the bar's greyed out even though there's no reason for it to be.

    - Stamina bug that makes stamina completely disappear and makes PVP unplayable.

Common misspellings annoys me more than they should. Like:
Kinra's (SHOULD BE KINRAS OR KINRAS'S WRATH)
    Malestorm (should be maelstrom)
    Kjalmar (should be Kjalnar)
Also Kjalnar set glorification annoys me a bit, since in reality it is only good if you are the only one using it. Otherwise you're better off with something else. This is because the bonestacks are shared between each and everyone wearing kjalnar and accumulating the stacks. But I digress.

Crafting surveys out in the middle of nowhere and adding them to new dlc zones. Like PLEASE STOP, it's annoying! Not only does it take up more inventory space, it also waste so much time running through the zone. Western Skyrim and Blackwood are the worst offenders.

The absurd "natural maze" layout of so many overland zones. It's a cheap attempt at making the zones feel bigger than they are.

It's unbelievably frustrating to look on the map, see where you need to go, recall to the nearest wayshrine, and spend 10 minutes figuring out the right path to get you to that point that is just a few yards away.

The AD zones are the worst. I have over 100 unused skill points but I still like to collect all the skyshards. I still don't have every one in Malabal Tor and Graughtwood because I despise any movement in those horrible zones!

Actually, a possessive plural is always Kinras'. There is no extra s.

In Malabal Tor, some of the paths you must take are through caves or underground tunnels, which you have to find the entrance first, and the surveys are there, too. It's super frustrating.

When running around in overland zones, and aggroed mobs CC me or my mount, so I have to wait or roll out, or break free etc., to carry on. I find immobilizing skills very annoying in general.
