I had an ancient elf motif and it would not let me use it. Was telling me "already known or increase smithing to level 8 or above or clothing to level 8 or above..etc"
Weird...because I did not learn the motif and my smithing and clothing is well above level 8. However...I did acquire the purchase through my alt account (the gold from my main was in the bank) which was a level 3 in a different alliance. Perhaps the motif bugged out when i put it in bank for my main to use and was still thinking I was my lvl 3 alt with lvl 1 crafting skills lol.
Now..I went to link this motif in chat and i accidentally clicked destroy. Instead of asking me if I'm sure I want to destroy it (like it does with all arcane+ items) it destroyed the item.
ROFL. OKay don't laugh. It is funny but I paid an absurd amount for that motif (35k).
Has anyone experienced either of the the above two mentioned things?
I made a ticket so hopefully ZMO can grant my motif back!

For clothier/blacksmithing/woodworking - there are 9 such ranks of said ability. You use a skill point for each rank. Unless you have used 8 such skill points in one if the above skill chains.... You can't learn ancient elf.1

It could have been a left over duped version of the Motif, which could have been actually useless, which is why I avoid buying motifs since they're still floating around.
