I've had that dialogue window pop up when I'm destroying zero value crafting mats to make room for loot when my bags are full. It should pop up every time you destroy something.

I had the same issue for another item, I also thought I had destroyed it.

Turned out I accidentally clicked "Mark as Junk"

check your junk tab in your inventory, it should be there.

That is possible, it won't prompt you to mark as junk, so you might still have it.

Also, the higher level motifs require one of your crafting skills to be a certain RANK. For example, I found the Barbaric motif, but it told me I had to have a skill at rank 7. I raised Woodworking to rank 7, which allows me to use Ash. Sort of pointless at the level I'm at but it won't be long before I'm VR4 and will need to use ash, plus it gives me a head start with the hirelings sending me rough ash now instead of rough birch. Rank 8 with woodworking would be Mahogany, and Rank 9 is Nightwood.

Either way I hope you get your Ancient Elf motif.

you need Level 40 craft (level 8/9 in passive skill) to learn Ancient elf... and level 35 (7/9 in passive skill) for Daedric. You probably bugged it somehow.

also incase anyone tries to correct me... I actually know what i am talking about.

As stated in one of my previous posts, it's not in junk I've truly deleted it lol.

Thanks for the info champ. Wish I'd have known all of this before I purchased the motif. I'm only ranked 3 in smithing atm at level 23. So....if I get this motif back... who wants to buy it? hahaha
