I love healing for a number of reasons.
1-- It is the most flexible. Can incorporate more or less DPS based on the group.
2-- Healing when done properly keeps my brain and fingers more busy and entertained than other roles. Keep up people's health, keep up buffs, throw in some DPS, frequently kite, balance and swap out countless sets... it is a lot and I like it.
3-- Healing well is less dependent on light attacks which aggravates my repetitive stress injuries.
I do like to switch things up from time to time but healing is my favorite. I like my necro tank, I like mag DPS, I've got four healers... but I really don't enjoy my WW because of all the light attacking. I can't play it much before it really hurts my hand.
I hate that healers are considered less relevant in many cases now. If the complex healing role was ever phased out to uselessness in ESO, I would probably quit.

Shame really, Stamina DD's are a lot of fun, but sadly who would drop buff sets from a tank to run alkosh/tremorscale, when you can run metric tonne of other sets + encrati's. Alkosh DPS is so bad that there's no wonder why DD's rarely run it, unless your group is full of Stamina DD's, and the fact that ZoS really love fire damage over ice/shock is tbh getting rather boring. Inferno staves have been meta for far, far too long.
