    Healer
Healer/Magicka damage dealer. I'll tank when it's required or I trust my DPS. (Rarely do I pug as a Tank).

Reason for the healer role is I'm a vampire. I take massive penalties for using non-vampire abilities, can't be healed by others, and I tend to get annoyed by groups with low DPS.

What cocktail of a build does this make? A very high damage/healing build fueled off health cost abilities, tons of heals over time effects, and all my allies receiving sustain and damage buffs from Spell Power Cure, Energy Orb, and the Symphony of Blades set. Also have Hiti so I can DPS and keep my allies topped off. Since I use Blood for Blood and the Undaunted Blood Altar I'm pretty much always getting healed so that set is running with 100% uptime without me giving it much thought.

    Healer
Healer for short queue times. With my healer build (full support gear and CP) i soloed all base game world bosses, and can carry a team in vet dungeons if DPS is low (i do 15k DPS). In overland group events (world bosses, tornadoes in skyrim) i can heal and buff other players, so overall its fast.

    Tank
My motivation to play tank is for the most parts to do the jobs most people don't want to do, take responsibilities plenty of people shy away from and help them reach their and my goals together. ESO has already way to many players who are (mostly) focusing on damage dealing only and this is probably also the most competitive area ESO has to offer.

I consider the role of tanks the easiest of the 3 roles in dungeons and trials once you are familiar with mob types, abilities and where to place them so damage dealer can have some fun. Initially this might be a higher learning curve compared to other roles, though once you figured that out you can concentrate on doing raid calls, hint players on certain abilities/ultimates to use and which adds to focus. Tanks IMO are the ones who try to bring control and coordination to the fight.

During my ESO history I had the chance to play with plenty of outstanding players of all roles that deal insane amount of damage, more than I can ever deal TBH, however, these people are only able to perform so well because they have someone that supports them. I'm not chaising numbers, but as the team-player that I am I do my best to support them as good as I can. If they are successful, I am as well. I do not need to stand in the first row posing with insande amounts of DPS, I am happy when we succeed as team.

    Healer
I love healing for a number of reasons.

1-- It is the most flexible. Can incorporate more or less DPS based on the group.
2-- Healing when done properly keeps my brain and fingers more busy and entertained than other roles. Keep up people's health, keep up buffs, throw in some DPS, frequently kite, balance and swap out countless sets... it is a lot and I like it.
3-- Healing well is less dependent on light attacks which aggravates my repetitive stress injuries.

I do like to switch things up from time to time but healing is my favorite. I like my necro tank, I like mag DPS, I've got four healers... but I really don't enjoy my WW because of all the light attacking. I can't play it much before it really hurts my hand.

I hate that healers are considered less relevant in many cases now. If the complex healing role was ever phased out to uselessness in ESO, I would probably quit.
My #1 wish for ESO Today: Decouple achievements from character progress and tracking.

    Healer
I really enjoy playing a healer and I’m always looking at different builds, abilities and sets to expand what I can offer, prepare for different situations and also to have fun with different classes of healer. :) I enjoy PUGging in part because it’s about responding to the needs and playstyle of your group and I enjoy adapting and, when needed, saving the day, or at least keeping people in the fight! ;)

Sometimes I try tanking but it’s more stressful to me because I feel it’s less about responding to the situation than properly setting it up. I feel I ought to know all layouts, ideal positioning, every attack and what can and can’t be taunted, blocked or interrupted… I should probably relax and try it more…

DPSing… Ugh, eventually I might get the timing down for light attack weaving… Trying to drill a perfectly timed rotation into myself just doesn’t sound fun to me… I would like to better than I do now, but I’ll never aim for best in this category.

I tanked for years then went onto heals, i find i can adapt and troubleshoot alot easier for the unpredictability of a pug on a healer. Im focusing more on dps these days, but gaining experience in those roles i believe made me more well rounded :)

    First 2 years: Tanking,
It was pretty fun. But I started to get annoyed when I got to vet trials. I didn't like the idea of memorizing where mobs spawn and memorizing where to go after taunting them. (To stack elite enemies that can't be chained). I never liked memorizing things.

Next 2+ years: Being a DD,
Love this role. It's easier than other roles and carries less responsibility than other roles. Much better suited for me especially after a day of tiring work. It's also feels nice to reduce the burden of tanks and healers by doing as much as dps as possible. It's my way of thanking those who do very stressful roles.
I play both stamina DD and magicka DD but prefer mag for vet trials.

I also played healer for a while but it got boring fast. However, playing all 3 roles really gives you the complete picture of combat system in this game.

Healing well suits the nurturing nature of my wood elf. She also likes the flexibility to adjust heals/support/dps on the go without changing skills to adapt to the situation. And that goes along with liking the unpredictability of what will be required of her and tending to be in the rear where she can see everyone's health bars. Importantly also, it suits solo play as well as group play - keeping herself, companion and strangers alive as well as her bear when playing as a warden.

StamDD, but since ZoS give Magicka all the important buffs with easy access (penetration and spell crit rating from light armour), and that stamina have issues with penetration and decent crit rating (outside AY/Leviathan) I tend to use magicka more.

Shame really, Stamina DD's are a lot of fun, but sadly who would drop buff sets from a tank to run alkosh/tremorscale, when you can run metric tonne of other sets + encrati's. Alkosh DPS is so bad that there's no wonder why DD's rarely run it, unless your group is full of Stamina DD's, and the fact that ZoS really love fire damage over ice/shock is tbh getting rather boring. Inferno staves have been meta for far, far too long.

Difficulty scaling is desperately needed. 9 years. 6 paid expansions. 25 DLCs. 41 game changing updates including A Realm Reborn-tier overhaul of the game including a permanent CP160 gear cap and ridiculous power creep thereafter. I'm sick and tired of hearing about Cadwell Silver&Gold as a "you think you do but you don't"-tier deflection to any criticism regarding the lack of overland difficulty in the game.

It really depends on the current event going on. With the Undaunted event, I'm mainly using my Templar MagHealer. But with pugs in normal delves I end up doing more DPS and heal once in awhile.

I'm a stam damage dealer at heart and will always be, but because of so many insta kill aoes on dungeons and trials i keep thinking of making one of my chars a healer, unfurtunaly lvling them up to 50 is just a nightmare.
One of my issues atm is barbed trap, i'm tired of the skill, but there's legit no other skill that is 15 sec dot that i could use, at least to my understanding, even if i used a minor force set, barbed trap also has really good dot damage.

I do play healers the most. They are build more like a whitemage in FF14 and really rewarding and fun. Yes it will keep me out of some content and that said Im nobody`s buff monkey and the playstyle is hard to enjoy.

I do still from time to time play on my DD´s as that´s, what I started out as. So rotations are something Im use to and very useful , when playing a frontbar heal and backbar DD.
