Everything has been looted (trunks, crates etc..)

as for the sheer number of provisioning mats clogging up inv, the only add on I have used is Souschef, which tells you at a glance in your inv if you have the recipe or knowledge for it, so then you can just sell (tho worth 0 gold its easier to sell then to destroy each one) the ones you cant use now. that helps immensely with storage.

now that i know looting is instanced (thanks for the tip!) im much more mellow about it and dont curse the fool that raced by me to the nightstand first. yey!

motiffs drop rate has decreased to the point of ridiculous now tho. glad all those farmers got theirs and made a ton of gold on it as well. pffft

Well, its either intended, or its a bug happening to the whole account.

i just tested various chars on my account, end every last chest/drawer/cupboard is empty now.

i began to notice this a few days ago, when i hit vr stonefalls... everything was empty at this point.. but it seems to be this way now for every one of my chars. my level 10 twink in stonefalls... everything empty.. my level 3 bank twink in auridon, which is holding my runes... everything emtpy... a few days ago, i logged at least once a day on my bank twink to stash the runes and i was able to loot a few of the chests, every time...

so the question remains, is my account bugged somehow? wouldn't be the first bug in this game... or has this been implemented, to stop motif farming? well nice job then, how am i supposed to get new motifs, now that EVERY container is empty? buy them from the guys, who played the relogging/loot chest/repeat game?

Provisioning is so easy to level it's annoying.

I've been in places too where it seemed that every container was empty. They're instanced to each player though so it's just RNG having a laugh.

I created new char, ran through tutorial gathering all prov. mats I saw, but then I entered Prophet's Cell, every (!) container was empty. Relog didn't help. Further rooms of tutorial had no non-empty containers too.
    Bug?

Noticed this too the last couple of days. VR3 and only very rarely will I find any lootable containers. Almost all containers are empty the first time I enter a new location.

@Wizzo91‌ It is true, whether you choose to believe it or not. Every lootable object except for material nodes (alchemy, smithing, clothing, woodworking, enchanting), heavy sacks, and treasure chests is INSTANCED.

They are not open to others. If they appear open/ empty to you, it's because the RNG hates you.

After my previous post, noting when I spotted the issues myself:

I haven't played since about 10pm yesterday evening, this afternoon I made a new character on Daggerfall (I usually play on EHP) and found every trunk, wardrobe, nightstand and desk was already open/empty in the entire city. Checked over on my main in Ebonheart (town) and nothing was available to loot there either (again, this does not stretch to crates, barrels and sacks - those remain unaffected - and bookshelves are spawning alternative books also). Continues to be a problem on the main megaserver across my account but strangely, those that are out on overflow (on Bleakrock etc) do not have this problem and the respawns are working as they had in the past.

I to am seeing this and had assumed there was some hack/cheat which meant others were getting there first (it was happening so often) until someone pointed out the instanced loot in containers. I wasn't sure if that made things better or not so I've gone back to checking which might be a total waste of time.
The only places I can be guaranteed masses of loot in containers are the solo instances for mage/fighter guild and the main story.
I don't have auto-loot enabled on any character. And occasionally I cannot loot a body but I just assumed that was the server not correctly registering the body's location.
Edit: I just had a thought - how many seeing this were hit by the bank bug? Clutching at straws I know...

@Sunbite‌ That last part about occasionally being unable to loot a body, I believe you are correct about it just being a server location issue. I have this happen at times. I am assuming that the body is glowing yellow so there is loot to be had, yes? If that is the case, then sometimes I've had to walk a bit away from the body or circle around to find the place where it will finally let me activate it.

Nope. Was never affected by the bank bug here.

If this is to be believed then the RNG has hated me for the last 3 days across every character I have ever made in the past or have made in the last few days.

@Phlora‌ I have never experienced empty containers for that long of a stretch. Gut tells me this is a bug. I wouldn't be surprised for an RNG to be as skewed as that though. I do recall something similar affecting a few people prior to launch, however it was typically a high level player going back to starter zones. In that scenario, it did not persist to other characters though.

Have you tried traveling to another zone's city or just another location (which you have not actively looted in the past day or so) to see if the spawns work there?

It's almost impossible for me to level my provisioning and find new ingredients when everything is open/already been looted by everyone.

I have to add my own anecdotal info sadly. I have a main and three alts, at varying levels. What I've noticed this week is going into a house or hut - the containers are all open. I, for one usually do not even go in if another player character is coming out or going in at the same time, I just move on to something else. On Monday and Tuesday I told myself - "Aw probs I didn't see the other person who just zoomed through here or maybe they logged out inside after looting everything."

Its still happening and additionally, on all of my characters I will go to loot a closed/full object -- it allows me to go forward with the click and then opens but its empty. Same with nodes - it is clickable, I click and take the first 'hit' onto say a mining node, and on the second click then comes the 'empty' result.

I swear as silly as it sounds this week/last 5-6 days it feels like I have someone on auto-follow who comes along with me and gets in a fast click a split second before I do or something weird like that. Btw I run zero add-ons for TESO, none.

    o-0

I've tried Daggerfall, Davons Watch, Ebonheart and Vulkhel Guard with both old and new characters. Those are the only places I am able to reach for the moment due to level restriction (I slack a lot and my "main" is level 12) The situation is the same. As I said, I have been unable to actively loot anything in any of those places for three days now. I first noticed the issue on my main character on 25th April after I had played him for a while, logged out in Ebonheart and switched to a low level character who was out at the Fort Zeren Docks. I never ventured in to any towns with her (none at all so far) as she's mostly played for exploration (chests and material hunting). I found that when I switched back to set some more research going before logging off for the evening that the trunks and chests were still empty across Ebonheart, thought nothing of it until the next day when it was still the same and then ventured back to use the bank in Davons watch (because there is no bank in Ebonheart...) and discovered more of the same.

The only place that spawns seem to be working in the usual fashion is back on the starter islands - Bleakrock for certain is still OK as I have a character out there now who has not met this issue yet. I have noticed that her addon settings are never saved when I log her in which would lead me to the belief that the issue is not existant on these "overflow" servers and only the megaserver is suffering.

These problems when I have seen them in the past have gone away after server maintaince... So it might be a server side problem with an individual shard check again after tomorrow's server work and if you still have the problem then /bug it
    Good luck in any case.

I've seen this for at least a week, if not longer. So I don't think a maintenance will solve it for me unfortunately. Maybe when they apply the PTS patch and lower the drop rate of recipes and motif books it will reset something - who knows!

I took my VR3 character on a quick tour of every major city I had access to visiting every castle, every guildhall, every inn and every building. I got a total of 6 lootable containers.

If the RNG is set at 1% or less for me how is it so many are saying they can log out and back in and see all or most containers reset? Who is bugged, me or them?
Is their some diminishing returns algorithm that has messed up?

I dont see how people are reaching 50 provisioning in a couple hours (unless they are using the logging cheat to reset) I cook all mats I get and I loot everywhere. You still need to have the higher recipes and lvls in order to get that good exp. My own exp is staying in starter zones looting will only get you starter recipes and mats. sure you can make 200 lvl 1 recipes and get two bars of exp for it, or you can go to higher zones and work those high exp recipes in a much shorter time.

that has been my exp, im at 47 now but its taken me 2 weeks. for the original poster, try going to a new area with rich looting, like mines, small towns etc. I have more luck with finding motiffs and good recipes and full chests there

I reached 50 very easily and quickly. I only needed to spend 1 point in it too. You can do it making lower level recipes. The mats are just everywhere. I most certainly do NOT cheat. I have alts doing every other profession. Those, however, do take forever.

I just entered a new area and went into the first town, every container in the first few buildings are totally empty, all I could find was a few bookshelves and a lorebook, so either I am very bugged or something has changed, because this wasn't happening a week ago. Maybe it's to stop bots farming? It seems to be hurting normal players as much as bots! :s
