PvP finally going down the drain?

    This video is 99% correct. An excellent analysis that is mostly on target.

    The 1% that I think needs reevaluation is the author's hypothesis that the likeliest scenario is that the devs will realize the onus is on them to create interest in PvP and thus add PVP content to the game to do so. The video is correct in its assessment that that lack of PvP content is a huge reason for PvP's decline.

    But why are we to believe ZOS will all of a sudden start releasing PvP content? How are they going to do this when they have gone two and half years now without hiring a full time PvP dev to replace the previous PvP dev who moved to combat? How does new content get created without a full time developer, let alone a team? It can't be done. Why would they suddenly change course after two years when the video rightly points out the obvious: performance is what it is and is too complicated to fix.

    I don't think PvP will "die", but it will remain on exactly what it is right now: no new content, but occasional balance tweaks and introduction of powerful new gear sets to keep it functional to the diehards who will continue to keep playing it hoping that the next balance patch will resemble the good old days.
    Make Rush of Agony "Monsters only." People should not be consecutively crowd controlled in a PvP setting. Period.

    Unfortunately to fix combat in a game where combat is routinely identified as its weakest point, you need to go with the unpopular opinion.

    You can’t keep listening to the loud voices propagating “bringing the good times back” or so. You want change, you have actually have to do something different.

    So far, most of the biggest changes have been rolled back (even if sometimes they were misguided). Proc sets, dots, etc - I like the new CP changes.

    Now take that, double down, and revisit skills (class and otherwise). Take another pass at CPs - make them more powerful but nerf base values. This why you establish roles more clearly.

    Revisit pvp as a whole from the ground up. Do you really want the hp accordion bar thay yoyos? Or perhaps for pvp. Do you do 10 times base stats and cut sustain and healing by 10? (Obviously sensational) - but what I mean here is you have to think of big invigorating changes. No point in keeping streamers or the sunset of people that actually enjoy pvp combat happy when it is glaringly, objectively, the weakest identified point of this game since it’s inception

    Though I have found the following works againat these new procs. But now they are getting nerfed.

    Stack all attributes to health - 35 to 40k HP
    Impregnableas base set - pretty much cap crit resist
    Pick whatever you want as second set (crafty atm for me, helps counter health stack for reasonable mag pool)
    Blinding flare - Major Protection (double bar) - 10% mitigation
    Dark Cloak - Minor Protection - 5% Mitigation
    Vampire 3 - undeath
    3L, 3M, 1H = 20k resists roughly

    High HP allows big damage hits take + the other mitigations are almost at "cap". With good HOTs, Hrotghar 15k hit still leaves me at 20-25k hp while I heal for 3k per second. Dodge roll & HOT. But, with impreg & other mitigations I only see 3-6k hrothgar. Also good luck NB gankers as most run Mech Acu.

    Now, I hardly die from any of the "cheese", i get sucked into dc & I can just block heal. But then again I hardly kill anyone, especially a non cloaking magnb with such telegraphed abilities. If anything, these new sets meant to counter tank meta just makes it even more of a requirement to tank through other means.

    I am probarbly going to make this base templates for pvp builds & find ways to increase damage. Especially when I can run impreg, all well fitted as mag. Can actually roll dodge quiet a bit.

    PvP people are fed up about GETTING BOMBED.
    PvP people are fed up about GETTING DARK CONVERGED.
    PvP people are fed up not knowing if GEAR BONUS IS WORKING OR NOT.

    ZOS, what are you doing to the game lately? Each patch brings new PvP grievances.
    All of this feels more like WILD EXPERIMENTING instead of consolidating.
    Do you know ANY serious game where every 3 month new rules turn the game upside down?

    Come on down to Ravenwatch and enjoy the bomb-free, cheese-set-free lifestyle.

    It feels pretty good.
