Its not really a problem with design - its just that many many mid-tier guilds and discord groups just want to make it as easy as possible and aren't really willing to step outside the comfort zone.

The pay-off for the higher damage potential is more risk, that's the design philosophy. If that's tinkered with too far, then everyone will just do stam for exactly the same reason - ez clears, minimal risk. And why wouldn't they, when the choice becomes simply stack magicka dps or stack higher damage dps.

It sucks to have a well thought-out build and be dismissed without the chance to prove yourself. I just think its not going to be a great outcome to balance for the entire community for the sake of a meta dictated by laziness or impatience.

But seriously, @Sleeping_OwI -pugs are a hugely mixed bag. Join a good guild and show them you're capable of pulling it off, or at least improving. Good luck!

Yep it was after you were right. I had the timing wrong.
I was still finishing up Gryphon Heart in VCR before we went to VSS and the Dot meta was already in effect. So no, the guys who passed Godslayer must have done it without that meta's help.

To come back to the subject of Stams in trials (and the fact that they feel kind of rejected - I know this as RL and old GM), we just need to to come back to balance whereby Stamina based class skills give certain buffs to the group. I think POTL (Stamplar skill) was nerfed a long while back and you can get that debuff elsewhere, Sunderflame also used to be a thing on stam DKs, but no more...Just some little adjustments so players would be able to bring in some of the older style classes back again (stop the stamcro/magcro meta already - enough, son)
