Neither by preference. I’m so bored of hearing the same three inane phrases for any given situation despite turning the natterbox down to the minimum that I have taken to grinding the stupid things up with the sound off!
Now that I've been playing with both for a while I find myself dismissing Mirri out of sheer irritation and summoning Bastian instead. He's a weirdo, with his philosophical non-sequiturs and his bizarre love for horrible crowds and noise, but Mirri's constant snark gets on my last nerve. She thinks she's being cute and funny but she's not.
Mirri hates bugs, and I hate bugs. Mirri enjoys booze, and I enjoy booze. Mirri has a skill that's just plain better than its MG alternative. Mirri's passive nets me extra loot (sometimes).
Bastian is like that one childhood friend I had who would just constantly talk about unrelated nonsense, I'd dismiss him just to make him shut up. Also he doesn't like cheese, which is simply UNFORGIVABLE. And his boosted potions are crap.
I like them both, they have their goofy moments, funny lines, and they are both generally kind-hearted and brave. In terms of personality, I think Mirri has the edge with her dialogue because it's more sarcastic and witty, whereas Bastian can be a bit cheesy sometimes. In terms of abilities, I personally use Bastian more because he's better suited as a support role.
I usually prefer Bastian. He's good when built as a healer. and he's very quirky. His righteousness is sometimes annoying, but he's easily dismissible when i want to do something bad.
Also he's not bad to look at either. Especially when topless *_* those tats tho
I thought I would be using them on direfrost keeps pressure plates, except you can't, and I already have a flapper, and an intrusive bear to contend with, so I just don't bother
