Heavy attacks can be clunky, and you really have to set up for it in terms of being able to actually hit the person, but I don't mind it too much. I have a double heavy attack proc set up for a gank build. It's difficult at times as I'm not always certain they go off.

I had a Sorc build with a rotation that had 2 heavy attacks in it, and it was okish to play...

I personally don't like it because I like to feel like I am doing something. Light Attack weaving for me is much more satisfying and I set up my character's sustain so that heavy attacks are very rarely needed because of that even if it is at the cost of a little damage.

For me any set that requires a heavy attack is a non-starter.

Only on a healer. Otherwise, I wont be heavy attacking all that much.

I dislike Heavy Attacks in every context, everywhere.

For PvE it really doesn't matter but for PvP full heavy attacks are difficult to land.

I think the new COR set (the one that reduce armor when using buff skills) has a interesting proc condition, and I would like to see more sets like this.

Never bothered to grind any heavy attack proc sets like who the hell in PvP is going to stand still so i can heavy attack them.

I don't mind them. Heavy Attack builds might not be for everyone, but I appreciate that the option at least exists for those who want to use them or those just getting tired of the usual build setup.

I would bend over backward twice to not have to ever do a heavy attack.

Heavy attacks just ... hang. They feel like they take forever.

Heavy attacks are the worst. They're so slow and clunky. I really wish they'd stop trying to force them on us. Nobody wants to use heavy attack sets.

It really depends on what effect you're proccing, in most cases I prefer things to proc of light attacks because you always do them in between skills during a dps rotation. But you can buff up without proccing the effect and wasting seconds while not engaging. I never like sets for DDs that require a fully charged heavy attack because you basically have to pause your rotation to get the proc, by pausing you lose dps so its not a good option.

In my opinion a proc set for a DD is considered viable if you can proc it by doing your dps rotation. Sometimes there are requirements like dot, direct,crit or even specif elemental dmg which is fine because it doenst cause any interruptions.

There are exceptions ofc, as tank/healer you heavy attack on a regular basis so you do get more control over when you want to proc the effect. For example, a set that reducing incoming damage for 10s after a heavy attack with a 30s cooldown means you can heavy attack when you expect high incoming damage. In this case I would prefer the control of a heavy attack of the ease of proc with a light attack or skill.

This is strictly from a PVE perspective, in PVP things a different because you dont really have a rotation but more a burst combo in which heavy attacks can be strong.

It depends. I think lightning heavy attacks are one of the coolest things in the game. But fire heavy attacks? Absolutely awful. Probably the least fun thing in the game. Maybe more sets should be, "when you do a light or heavy attack," and leave it up to player to decide how they want to proc it.

Depends on the heavy attack, but for most weapons (Basically anything that isn't a Lightning or Restoration staff) they're pretty bad. Werewolves at least get faster heavy attacks, but for the most part I avoid heavy attacks like the plague unless I really need them. Only reason on my magDK I run Molten Armaments is to get a little bit more damage if I heavy attack with my resto staff or wanna punch a hole in that one mage that stands up on the tower with my flame staff. Otherwise, I'd probably go Igneous Weapons or Degeneration instead for my source of Major Sorcery.

No, I dislike heavy attacking, or anything that delays fast-paced combat. For me, heavy attacking is actually worse on the fingers. That's why I avoid effects that have a heavy attack condition attached to them, at least for dps toons.
