Leyawiin would be a great crafting spot and turn in...

But gets ruined by Cleetus mcImperial (Nolus Cedus) walking right in front of it, blocking me from turning in my daily writs.

Now I know it'll be 10 years before you get to any changes that aren't fixing game breaking bugs, but can you add his annoying self to that list?

Otherwise I might as well stay in Alinor.

I noticed a lot people prefer Alinor over Vivec but I tried both and Vivec is miles better.

Banker and merchant is right in the center of the route. Everything is outdoor so you can mount all the way and no loading screens. Horse trainer and BG camp are all nearby. Vivec Outlaw camp is closer to the city core than Alinor's.

All it is missing is the undaunted camp.

When blade of woe is a daily endeavour, it's extra satisfying to give him a stab. Or a source of stuff to launder/fence if that's an endeavour.

Seriously love Leyawiin though. Vivec City is an ugly construction site. Alinor has that stupid Star-Eyed Bride of Alinor song. Solitude has stations behind doors for reasons? And Rimmen - you have to travel so far to hand in.

I can deal with having to stab a person. Plus it's a really good looking environment.

During the Morrowind celebration I stayed in Vivec for everything. But mentally I still associate Vivec with the absolute laggy mess it was for like a year after the zone released and pretty much rarely go there now.

I read the title and immediately knew the issue before clicking. Someone at ZOS give this NPC the boot. He's fighting for the top spot on the annoying NPC list and doing quite well at it.

Anyone elses characters do this confused weird sliding along thing when they try and drop writs in the boxes? I think the collision detection with the counter the boxes are sitting in is off.

Vivec City still wins hands down for overall convenience but I have a couple toons parked in Leyawin for writs, it's a well laid out spot.
  • Carcharodontosaurus
I thought the exact same thing while attempting to turn in writs yesterday. I stood there a moment awkwardly then he moved after a few seconds of me trying to get past him. If he was just moved back like a meter, (or three) that would work great.

I guess ZOS decided there weren't enough pets to block the drop off area so the added one of their own.

If you have a lot of toons who do writs everyday, you will never go back to Vivec once you see how easy and close things are in Leyawiin, even with the annoying NPC. My time spent doing daily writs has gone way down. This is assuming you have the crown store banker and are precrafting or using dolgubon’s addon. If you don’t have a crown store banker, I can see how Vivec would be easier. It’s just so spread out.

Edit: Vivec also still best if you are mount-training

For the love of anything I don’t know why ZOS insist on putting an NPC in front of the turn in stations. Surely it must be a cruel inside joke at ZOS on us the players.

    Stay safe everyone :)

It's really hard to beat Vivec. Everything is right there around the bank even an outlaw refuge. Really all it needs is a house to drop you right by the bank, an undaunted tent outside of the city walls, and i think it would be perfect in function . It is dreary to look at though.

And don't forget the Outlaw's Refuge for The Shadowy Supplier person. :)

I have 10 daily writ crafters and all have lvl 4 Dark Brotherhood simply for this. Vivec is the perfect city imo....

I try every new city that comes out, but there is always something stuck behind a door/load screen. Be it bank or a craft station.

He’s usually there for me but I don’t have any difficulty turning in my writs. It’s Bera Moorsmith who ruins it for me. She nags me on the way into the crafting area, nags me while I’m picking up my writs, nags me when I’m doing the Alchemy writ, then nags me again when I leave the area to turn my writs in. Four times! Once is enough, ZOS.

Let's be honest, you can simply sidestep Nolus Cedus, or activate the drop off from an angle. It's not hard, works even with the Blacksmith and Enchanting chests.
Also, Bera's Dialogue is avoidable by taking the alley to the drop off and not the way across the square. Granted, you need a mobile banker for that to work.

What is annoying is the couple of world objects placed right smack in the path from station to station. It sometimes feels like an obstacle course, only you can not parcour through.

That cart bang in front of the shack that hosts the crafting stations... I can see the world designers smirking every time I hit my shins on it

Either way is mostly well put together, definitely a step up in terms of QoL over Solitude and one can work around the minor niggles here and there.

The crux of the matter is that I can choose to stay in the shadow of Vivec's mighty rod and not have to deal with niggles and is hard to talk myself into changing that.

Also (more to do with Leyawiin design than crafting) when did a thin chain we could easily jump over become an impassable barrier?

There are quite a few areas in Blackwood where they have put collisions where you should definitely be able to jump and go over yet the designers went 'nah, you will go around or you will not go at all'.

These are not 'cheese spots' for WBs either, they are just bits of the landscape where you are forced to take 'the long way around' rather than 'the short and sensible way over' because nothing can beat the invisible wall.
