✭✭✭✭I am fine with no helmets BUT all the other companions from the player perspective should have random faces as to make your companion more unique and stand out from your perspective.

Oh, this is really good to know. I'm very sensitive to 'real tanks' and, since I have Bastion set as a tank, I was worried about fights where there is a real tank trying to taunt things.
For my characters that combine reasonable heals with dps, they prefer the companion as a tank (we use Bastion). He actually holds aggro well and I have the heals to keep him alive. The real beauty of this though is that he does not spread the fight out which helps optimize my abundant AoE.
My characters who don't pack decent 'heal others' skills, they can't keep a tank alive. Therefore they use Mirri as a ranged dps giving her enough self-heals to (usually) keep her 'ashen arse' alive. She is fun but does tend to spread out the fight when she draws aggro by dodge rolling away from the center of the fight.
My wardens present a different problem since they love the bear and use 'command pet' to send the bear in first. With Bastion set up as a melee only tank, this is fine since he still gets a good taunt and the two of them keep mobs in a tight group. The problem is a ranged companion will cue off the same command and attack as well - and her spell/arrow will beat the bear to the fight giving initial aggro to her. So my wardens only use tank companions. Fortunately, my wardens pack enough heals to keep the tank alive. I wish there was an option to command only the bear instead of commanding 'all summons + any companion'.

"Oh, thank goodness," she exclaims. "All these quest markers are so confusing!" She heads into the crowd.
"You know, Bastian," Marcus says, "We really need a better way for me to find you in a bunch of Bastians. Maybe you should wear a helmet."

Yeah, I was just in a Public Dungeon fighting one of the bosses and he had me in his clutches and Mirri yelled, "You're going to need to break free!" I thought that was pretty cool and, also, helpful for a new player.PC/NA/EP ✌️1 -

Really? I beg to differ...someone's Bastion came up as I was tanking a world boss and stole taunt...them promptly died to the first attack. I personally don't see the use of companions at all. I can't take them the only place I might want to(solo arenas) and my tank does more than enough damage for any overland content so why bother?1 -

And you have no way of knowing what gear that comp was wearing or what skills the person had set ALL of these things matter for Bastian being able to tank. You can't just slap green light armor on him and expect a proper tank.0 -
vallisas✭✭✭Also, small nitpick with Bastian's ult, it seems more geared for a tank bastian. It doesn't get much use with a ranged bastian, he'll only use it on the first person who comes close to him rather than a mob. I think it should be tweaked a bit, allowing for him to drag everyone within range to him, or atleast change the blasing grasp to pull in a whole mob instead of just a single target0

It doesn't bother me in particular, i'm no less immersed than I am, when I see my twin on every second player character LOL. I just found the loads of ginger clones funny. I'm more surprised by the few people being opposed to companions entirely, whereas as I am like "what took them this long", for a franchise that has always had them.2 -

Swtor launched with countless comps, and yet all you mostly see people running around with, endless clones of one blonde chick in the same outfit, despite being able to change them

I agree though that I see about 4 Bastion to every Marri.
Same for me, only time i've seen a lot of Merri's compared to Gingers was in one of the blackwood gates. I'm surprised. I thought for sure being female i'd see more of her running around but no, everytime I turn around there's atleast 3 gingers near me running around. The Merri's I have seen running around are all naked though usually lol.
