Are you moving the euro megaserver to europe sometime this decade?

I've had enough of this.
I literally can't do Cyrodiil, and perform extremely poorly in veteran dungeons with their 500 mechanics per boss because of lag.

I joined the euro megaserver, language issues and all because I wanted to avoid lag. Then I get lag. Then I learn the euro megaserver is located in America because Zenimax apparently think charging europeans more money for less service is a fantastic idea.

No. No it isn't. And please don't come here and tell me that you live in europe and get fantastic ping to the US servers. Good for you! You are not me, and I and many others suffer horrendous lag from having to connect half way across the world to play.

They wont say a Date, they claim they are not technically ready for it.
Which for me means they should not have launched.
I would say if they relocate it at all, it wont be before console launch.
Chancel your sub, is my advice.

wow.. like the 500000th of this thread. The game isn't even past the 30 day mark yet. Maybe they won't give you a date because they don't know? What if they gave you a date, then don't make the date then you be even more pissed right? They said they would do it soon after launch. Not the next day after launch. Have you ever built an entire data center in another country and know exactly how long it should take?

Lag is an issue they are working on regardless of Server preference. NA is affected too

How about simply not launching the game, when you are not ready?

This is an ass of a statement, they gave the reason why it's like this atm, apologised and said it will be moving soon, raging helps nothing and no1.

This. Europe isn't some backwater hole you know. If Zenimax want to sell an MMO service to us then they should damn well be ready to do it at launch.

It will move a later date. I've played from the US and it's still crap, just for info.

Moving the Europe server to EU data centre is not going to suddenly fix all the latency issues unfortunately. The game will have built in features to 'hide' latency (via net code to balance for connection/ TCP).

Moving from say 160-200ms > 20-40ms just wont make such a big difference in an MMO. It's not a twitch FPS.

I'll be really happy for it to move and to have lower ping which will make a difference but only marginal and will fix nothing with the server-side issues which appear to be the root cause mostly from forum posts.

Noone forced you to buy it... we were all well aware that the servers would be located in the US for some time after launch... The game has been out for a glorious 3 weeks now...

Hm, what is the cause then? Inadequate datacenters? Bad ISP on their end?

No one forces anyone to buy anything, and yet consumer associations and customer complaints exist for a reason. Think about what you say before you say it.

Would you be so blase about other features?

By not launching because of server location, did you mean just don't launch the EU?

I guess they could have done that.

    Hard to say precisely. It can be connection issues of course. You can check connection with a traceroute to the game server which is generally;
The server ip is 198.20.200.x where x is less than 256.
    So example ip: 198.20.200.79

But generally , even with a decent connection it happens. Seems to be especially at peak times so points to server load and just the way the server handles
this. The Megaserver itself is not one computer but a datacenter with lots of computers hosting it.

If you check the forums just from titles with Lag you can see plenty, in fact more, of the issues are on the NA Megaserver with players in the US who would have lower pings generally.

http://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/discussion/78799/when-will-eu-server-will-come-to-eu#latest , feel free to add to the pretty large post we have going on. I agree. They should have NOT released an INTERNATIONAL game without having ALL servers ready. Also, they stated the servers would be moved to the ALREADY existing EU datacenters after the initial launch. What is their definition of initial launch. It certainly should not be over 1 month.

technically can not be a good ping to America from Europe, Russia and so on. no reason to make any diagnosis - everything is bad.
I play on the euro, hoping for a comfortable game, and now beat skill in the air because of delays animation.

It's still the same principles and tech under the hood as any multiplayer game now ain't it? Of course MMO's have "slow animations" for some overhead but ESO's response times are still laughable.

Euh... no... I simply wouldn't have bought it... Silly comment and/or example really. The fact that the servers were going to be in the US was clearly stated... I, personaly, had no problem with that so I went and bought the game.

The only place I have lag spikes is in Cyrodill and they don't really bother me as I'm only going there once a day to do the daily quest.

BTW, its worth remembering when it gets to the EU, the "server" will cover a much larger area of the world due to the placement of the continents and the pacific ocean’s size, i.e. it will cater for the Europe, Africa and at least half of Asia and even western Australia (west of Alice Springs) given the lay of transoceanic cables across the world along with the overland PSTN, so it will need to be right.

"You should have read the small letters...and don't complain about anything, because the game is still less than a month old" !! HOW small minded and lawyer-ish is that piece of advice ?? What about ALL the time Zenimax had to develop and test and Beta the game ?? Doesn't it count ?

After three weeks this game seems to be approaching a semblance of playability.
But it´s still too early for moving the server. Too much needs fixing and I shudder at the thought of ZMax operating two servers separated by an Ocean.

Let them fix it up, level another character or simply unsubscribe, if you´re not on prepaid, otherwise tough luck.
And yes the laws of physics still apply to ESO, even in vanilla PvE the lag gets really annoying.
Recently watched some UTub vid and I was all slackjawed when I saw that ´merican unlock that simple chest.
This was NOT what I have to suffer through from good ole Germany! :(

We did not know until the last beta that the servers would not be in the EU, quite last minute really, and quite unacceptable, please don't try to justify the terrible mistakes that ZOS have made in managing this situation.

It was clearly stated in MARCH. AFTER a lot of people already pre-ordered and were already billed.

My boss can control his security system at work in Germany from Dubai or India through a program on his cell phone. If he can do that, then ZoS can remotely control their servers from Europe. Its not like we are on the moon or something, this is the year 2014 where remote control from different continents is simple. If Bioware can do it, ZoS can do it.

Next time a guy in restaurant pushes some rotten vegetables on your plate, remember how smart you've felt saying that.

Next time you bought a piece of hardware, and it's faulty - remember that you wanted to be smug on forums, defending things you should not defend.

I'll guess you are around 20 years old or younger, becasue that's exactly the kind of behavior that companies pushed to brainless masses for years now, and you seem properly formatted. If you are older, then, I wonder how that stupidity can come with earning your own money.
