Why is there almost nobody using Bastian?

kamimark✭✭✭✭I am a constant, habitual thief, and Bastian would be so very angry. I still have to put a bucket on Mirri's head to go murder people what need murdering, but that's more deliberate.

Zyreist✭✭✭I've been using each of them half and half the time. Mirri's passive is preferable, and she doesn't whine at my thieves, also, I find her dialogue to be a bit more amusing to listen to... Bastian is waaaay too excited about my harvesting runes and picking up bags.
So Mirii is my default most of the time, and Bastian hangs out with the other half my characters that don't do thieving.5 -

✭✭I saw people in Bad Mans Hollow with any of the companions while I was camping the boss snake for yet another Band of Water lead. (Yes, its still full of lead hunters. If you expect Shadowfen to calm down any soon you may disappoint.)1 -

lol no, I'll go with Basti mainly once I get him. He's so innocent and works well with my good guy characters. I'm just trying to finish a few other things up before I go to Blackwood.3 -

✭I have found Bastion first so I have him, I do think Mirri is more suited to my character but I like Bastion but I have yet to get to know him properly.0 -
Welven✭✭✭I already craft all my own potions and don't use overland pots. Mirri also doesn't care about stealing. Its an easy choice.10 -

Their racial passives are just for themselves, with hers being a little better.
What does Mirri's perk provide? Gold and what else?
(And it's treasure chests only, right, not all containers? Are dolmen chests included?)

nadrokal✭✭✭The treasure chest passive is why I use Mirri. That and I got her first, and they level so slow I'm not in any hurry to switch and start over just yet. Oh, and the gear. I'd rather try to upgrade one at a time and companion stuff has been light on the dropping - think all i picked up was a green medium chest and a blue ice staff so far.3

Probably because Bastian is a weenie. He throws a fit over everything. He even gets mad at you for making tea....
Who gets mad over someone cooking tea? The guy has issues.13 -

✭✭✭I like Bastian more than Mirri. But that also has to do with the fact that I have Bastian as a companion for my main and Mirri for my alt. Each char has one companion, in my Tamriel there is only one Mirri and one Bastian.1 -

✭✭✭✭✭Honestly all I see are Bastian's so was a bit puzzled, might be players swapping back and forth doing certain activities to level them up / getting rapport faster.2 -
old_scopie1945✭✭✭✭✭It's all about role playing for me. If I am using a good character I will use Bastion. If I am using a more dubious character I will use Mirri. Apart from that I am levelling both on all three of my characters for the guild quests. That is for levelling all my guild skills.0 -

✭Mirri has a better VA - Bastian grates on me even only having heard it in vids - and the only things that seem to make her really mad is cold blooded murder and harvesting torchbugs, I can out her away when I do that. In short Bastian is more annoying for me, hence why he's languishing.3 -

✭✭✭✭✭Bastian's anti-stealing is annoying, even if you don't pickpocket or steal, there's still the thieves guild treasure boxes laying around and you have to unsummon him before opening one or he loses it. Strangely he has no problem with me intimidating random merchants and taking their stuff, he even tells me "good haul" for extorting that merchant.5 -
Nephthys✭✭✭Mirri has more character. She does potty mouth, doesn't mind theft, has fun dialogue and isn't a goodey two shoes.... but mainly she is Dunmer
