Interactable objects have priority over other items, especially when you're using a controller instead of a mouse. If someone places a meat close enough in front of a banker, or merchant, or writ board, you WILL interact with that meat first instead of the other object.
Do I think it should be reportable? Not really. I don't think it should be interactable by other people either, you wanna puke, you eat the meat.
Honestly you would be happier in solo player game? The complaint is trivial and no way is it close to harassment. Real harassment is being followed in store [snip] Hell lets go in game real harassment is waiting for quest givers in pvp to return quests at npc so you can kill them before turning in. How about constantly impersonating you in zone chat with similar name. I can keep going on, because this is very very small if we want to compare here.
By playing Multiplayer game you sign up to play with others and guess what people play jokes this isn't harassments it's a joke. Nobody is going following you banker and writs everywhere with mystery meat. This is nothing compared to bear blocking things as it's on ground. It's easily avoidable. Also frankly it's hard to see item on ground. Takes some bad luck to pick it up. Oh lets not forget animation lasts 10 secs maybe while a lot of other things last longer.
The item is designed to play a joke. I am sorry you can't handle jokes, but any claims that's is more then a joke is unfounded. The thread started off as wanted to report people for using mystery meat and that's unreasonable.
We'll have to agree to disagree because I can handle jokes, but I find the lack of consent for this item not in the right spirit for the game. I even find it a bit worse than mudballs because while mudballs may make it hard for costume dying, at least they don't invalidate your own button presses.
If I choose to go to Cyro or IC and I get killed, I'm not going here to make a huge post about it. Thats the whole point of me going there, and I know what I'm getting into.
Again, you don't get to choose what to be offended by and you certainly don't get to tell others to suck it up because there are worse things out there. There's always someone out there who has it worse. That doesn't mean no one can complain about anything.
You have to click it and look down for it to happen. There's your consent. Still you are defiantly playing double standards you want people to butcher people. But it's game... so little things like that shouldn't actually matter.
[snip] mudballs do not invalidate dyes anymore. Mystery meat is a choice you personal make and nobody is going around haunting you with mystery meat.

Sounds like console only problem then or you aren't moving around. Meat is tiny compared to bear or cake and easy to resolve. Also happens way less then mystery meat
I understand you are frustrated but let's be real it's a very rare event.

I'm not frustrated (except other that to have to prove that an issue exists)
If it was a rare occurrence like it should be, I'm pretty sure no posts would be made on this forum.
But there's 1 guy on PS4-NA who does nothing put tells bad jokes in chat and drop Questionable Meat sacks in front of anything that people interact with regularly. I was fine with it for a while. Even laughed when I found out it was him, 2 years ago.
He still does it, every single day, when people log on to do their writs. Writ board: Meat. Merchant to sell stuff? Meat. I think even the most forgiving person would simply be tired of it.

And I have never in 7 years heard any complaints in game on two platforms.

And most of the other items you mentioned are not interactable by the target and thereby unavoidable except by maybe dodging.

Just because I play a game where pranks are possible does not make me obligated to be a target.
And there have been threads up asking for a way to toggle these off. It is the only fair solution so everyone can choose whether or not to participate, rather than being forced into it for someone else's fun.

Basically, new players get taken in by the prank once, (usually) laugh it off, then they just don't click on it again. It's just light-hearted fun.
Nothing wrong with having a toggle for it. I just don't think it's necessary for mystery meat. Just don't pick it up.SilverBride wrote: »If the developers didn't want people to actually PvP, or decorate houses, or run dungeons and trials, or do quests they wouldn't have made those possible either. It is NOT just "possible." It is a normal part of gameplay. And they cannot POSSIBLY know you don't want to partipate ahead of time.
So yes, it is. I don't go into PVP and then claim people should be banned for killing me. I don't go into first person shooters and complain that people are harassers for shooting me. I don't go into a burger joint and demand someone be fired if my waiter gives me ketchup. I just politely ask for a new burger and explain my situation.
Empathy towards you comes from people stopping when you ask. Not changing their entire way of playing the game to cater to your tastes.
You are not asking for empathy to go "both ways" when you demand people stop pranking in a game with pranking under threat of banishment. You are demanding your personal taste be made paramount. And completely ignoring the immense problems you are causing for others by false accusations and attempting to get them punished for it.And there have been threads up asking for a way to toggle these off. It is the only fair solution so everyone can choose whether or not to participate, rather than being forced into it for someone else's fun.
And I support those. That's a perfectly reasonable way to handle things. Falsely calling people harassers and trying to get them banned is not.

Nothing. The opening post implies they want people banned for it. That's a lot different than asking for a toggle.
