Tanks, what's the most annoying thing players do when you are tanking for random groups?

    P.S.

Healers, please don't pull. I've encountered these gems a few times before too. Just stop.

I like it when healers pull in trash from afar - it saves me the run/resources, they usually know what they're doing, have great situational and mechanic awareness and bring them within easy tank acquisition range. It can be a very effective kind of off-tank activity.

Healers are often players who tank, too. Sometimes they're on the way to trying tanking out. This kind of pre-emptive help is welcome to me. :)

    Fake healers, though - bah.

I'm sitting at CP 620ish atm and I've been tanking almost non-stop since I started playing again a month ago. It's funny to read all these responses so far as I haven't encountered many of these yet, such as the quizzing of gear I was wearing or other qualifiers.

Yet my biggest pet peeve is definitely related to speedunners.

    Oh boy.

    I'm sick of them.

As a tank I try and keep a pretty brisk pace, but if someone is new to the dungeon or needs to do a quest, I'll slow it down. I'll take shortcuts when need be and I'll keep an eye out for chests or heavy sacks. I don't like having my time wasted, so I try and not waste others if it isn't necessary.

What I absolute cannot stand are CP 1000+ jerkwads whose only talent appears to be pressing down the W key non-stop and if you can't keep up, too bad.

As was already mentioned, normal dungeon runs are absolutely filled to the brim with these elitist turds. They actively will ruin the dungeon for every one else just to save themselves (in their own minds) a couple minutes. This mindset of, "Press W, dump all AoEs, BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR... repeat." is a cancer on modern MMO culture and, as a tank, I really despise it even more because it's almost always some self important DPS that is the culprit.

I've more or less sworn off normal dungeons at this point and mostly do veteran dungeons. Not only is the atmosphere (mostly) better, but obviously the gear is worth it as well. However, you still will encounter this wonderful people even in veteran dungeons and it grinds my gears even more.

In short, slow down and let everyone do their jobs. A tank pulls, does CC, and sets the group's pace. Don't like it? Go sit in queue for another hour for all I care. There's no shortage of eager DPS to take your impatient ass's place.

    P.S.

Healers, please don't pull. I've encountered these gems a few times before too. Just stop.

It's hilarious to me that it's always the "elitists" at fault. Their time doesn't matter. They should cater to the "casuals" and let people do what they want to enjoy the game. But the "elitists" aren't allowed to enjoy the game or do what they want.

Don't like it? Go queue with friends/guild members for all I care.

I'd rather have these "speedrunners" than be doing 80% of group DPS when I'm tanking, which is truly insufferable.

"Elitist" seems an odd choice of wording, but, there's nothing wrong with letting the tank do their job.

You get both major and minor breach/fracture, crusher, and any of a number of other buffs not to mention the mobs are grouped.

I run a dungeon timer, mostly because of speed runs/trifectas. I rarely see a group where the DDs run past the tank actually make a better time than they would if they had let the tank do their job. Thats of course vet, normals are a little different.

    "DDs" with no noteable DPS.

Non-DLC dungeons i often run veteran with random group using Group-finder. 95% of the times everything just goes smooth, players know what to do and wants to do HM.

But one annoying thing i can encounter: When players ruin Hard Mode in vet. Some randoms running past scroll and start the fight, very annoying. Or even worse, I explain HM for i.e. Spindleclutch II (Dont kill innocent/victim) and the DPS just melts the innocents. This goes for all HM mechanics.

So please read the chat, and the description on how to do Hard Mode (quest journal).

They run away from the boss and don't follow me. This always leads to them dying or making a fight longer than it needs to be. A good example is the first boss in Stone Garden. They stand far away and so the boss chases them. If they were closer, the boss would quickly return to the tank. Instead, I end up changing positions frequently thus reducing group dps since the boss is then hardly ever in AOEs. This is a common problem in many dungeons and boss fights.
