ZoS IS doing something about BOTS!!!

Just walked into a dungeon...the boss was standing there....about 30 dead bots at his feet...The boss couldn't be damaged but you could tell someone was there watching.

I walked in and attacked the boss noticed I took no damage and could do no damage so I went and got the skyshard...then BOOM i get cred for the dungeon...

I look back to see bots start to run into the room and just call over dead.

    Walked into another dungeon...no bots....saw a couple try to run in and fall over dead again.

    If I were a GM I'd go into those low level dungeons that bots like to hang out in and spawn a few max level Titans to wipe the floor with them.

    I am sky shard hunting so I am now on dungeon 5 with no bots and 2 more times I saw bots try and run in and just die...

    /r has a number of posts regarding players watching a GM in different dungeons watching and banning bots earlier this morning. I am assuming it is true as I haven't seen any in the Deshaan dungeons today.

    You know it is very sad...

    If I had made this post raging at ZOS saying they are screwing up and doing nothing...I would probably have 5 pages worth of comments...

    The fact that everyone wants to complain but no one wants to comment on a positive post is just sad for this community.

    I'm glad to hear this. Sadly it wasn't my experience today in The Rift in a few of the public dungeons, but I am happy to hear there's some work being done and in such an entertaining way!

    Agree. Feedback goes both ways. If they are taking action against bots, then they need to be applauded. I am all for bot/spam slaying to be as public as possible. Be Proud in your bot slayings ZOS!!, let the entire world know!

    I ll comment! It is great to see something being done. Something actually proactive and visible does a lot for the moral. Good job to whomever / whatever is out there killing off the bots.
    In another note, I saw some bots die yesterday. It was like eye sex. lol. One of them went down to a random group of mobs, then they all went nuts, seems it messed up there attack pattern and they could not cope with the random factor, so down they went. Ah, the smell of dead bot in the dungeon, like a victory.

    People only generally come to vent about their problems, it's less likely for people to come if they are happy. Sad fact but true, so the majority of Forum Posts are negative.
    Will be interesting to take a look at this later.

    It is great they are doing something!

    But i fear that "active" work by GMs is not going to keep bots away. It may work awhile, but they can't hire GMS with salaries to wash out bots 24/7. It must be implemented into the game mechanics so it just not is profitable to do what they are doing.

    The bots/farmers have already begun working around this by scripting a path for the bots to run around in the open world and by having the bots teleport from quest-giver to quest-giver and complete quests. The only way ZOS will get ahead of this is to ban the accounts, not by simply killing the avatar.

    The problem is simply moving from dungeons to the open world now. That isn't progress at all.

    Hey, I'd rather see ZoS being proactive and actually doing something with their loyal fanbase' money.. than them being passive, and taking weeks to cook a "hotfix" that will eventually breaks in a matter of days.


    So I hope ZoS keeps this up~

    Killing the bots are certainly a good start and i will presume when they actually bother to kill them like that its a statement to show the non-bots there that they doing something and give them a good laugh and bans will come.
    Might just be that a single GM not allowed to ban on sight what he think is bots for all we know or that server need some kind of reset for bans to be active and killing them like this is a good way to at least put them out of action until such a time

    I think they should make an official video of a GM running around firing off round after round of hot messy justice just to show us they are pro-actively pounding bots...

    Agree this is awesome... keep ban hammering the bots and slaying them without remorse... I was trying something similar by pulling many groups into bots repeatedly and killing them off... ;-)

    I hate to be negative in a thread with awesome news but...

    You can't hurt a boss or be damaged by it? Their current solution is to not let anyone kill the boss?

    If I see any bot slaying at the weekend I will certainly try and film it. I'll be there cheering as the last bot rots on the ground.
