Empty Gift Boxes?

Has anyone else had trouble finding zero items inside a newly opened gift box? My initial research shows there's a cap of 50/day/character, which I shouldn't be close to. If it's 50/day/account, then yeah- I hit that level.

None - and I've been doing 27 x 7 a day (and double that the first day as I saved my writs to hand in)

There is supposed to be a 50 daily/toon limit on daily quests but I've never got near hitting it ti find out.

I’ve never had that happen. Anything is possible though.

There are some prizes that would give the impression of being empty to a character with auto loot enabled. It a box has only Transmute Crystals or an Undaunted Key, those items will be moved directly to your currency table without hitting your inventory or showing up in the loot log. The only way to see them is to turn off auto looting in the gameplay settings and manually pull the items from boxes.

Is there a chance that’s what’s happening to you?

I think this happens if you use use Lazy Writ Crafter and your inventory is full.

I did have this happen one time a few days ago, and I thought it was pretty weird. (I don't have any addons or auto-loot, so it's not that.) But considering the numbers of boxes I've been opening over all, I wasn't that worried about it as a one-off thing. But if it starts to become a pattern, that's different.

I am using Lazy Writ Crafter and autoloot was on- it works beautifully for crafting writs, but when I did other dailies- either the loot box contents disappeared or they went straight into my craft bag without being listed out. Turning autoloot off seems to have fixed the issue however.

Are you also not seeing any new items in your inventory after seeing the empty boxes? Any inventory addons being used? Not heard of a limitation being officially announced. @ZOS_GinaBruno ?

@Dolgubon might be able to give some clarification on Lazy Writ Crafter here.

I haven't experienced this personally, but I also do not have the "Loot Anniversary Boxes" option enabled in the addon so I can't really input on if that is the issue or not.

The LWC mod author added an option to autoloot the Anniversary boxes, and unfortunately it's set ON by default. You should check to see if it's on in the addon's settings; if so, you can set it to OFF by clicking on the option.

There are also settings now in Lazy Writ Crafter to write what you're looting to chat so you can see.

Was the same way last year as well. I actually use the option now if I am short on time, but was bugged a bit when it started looting my Jub boxes for me automatically a day or two into the event, as I kinda like opening them one by one and being surprised. Great feature, but really shouldn't be forced on.

Huh. I didn't notice it last year - of course, I'm sometimes a total space cadet so possibly I noticed, turned it off, and by this year had forgotten all that!

Yes, I quite agree - most stuff like this should default to OFF.

Yeah, last year was the first time I saw it and like many here, it totally freaked me out. I was like, where are my boxes going, what is opening them!?! I literally spent hours going through and turning every addon on/off to figure it out.
