So do people actually buy from Guild Traders outside of Capital Cities?

I always look at the Traders that are in the middle of nowhere before the bug cities. I want to encourage sellers and Guilds in remote areas. Sometimes the fee is higher, but that is a cost I am willing to pay. #SupportSmallBuisness

As well as using TTC and visiting strange spots I regularly farm some of the more obscure zones for cheap motifs. Quite often I'll land a few before someone datamining TTC flips them to silly priced major locations.

I always check outlaw refugees for housing stuff. They have better chance to have the rare thieving housing items.

They do, primarily because of of market addons that let people find specific items. So just put them up for cheaper than market value and they should sell, most likely to a flipper hawking the market so they can resell them in the capitol cities for a higher price. But hey, it beats selling it to a vendor, which is what you would probably have to do otherwise.

I tend to do that too, but you generally end up on page 2 when sorted by cheapest listing lately before finding one of the items still for sale, unless one literally just popped up. I always shop at home first though, I will pay a bit extra to support my guilds.

Yep, if it goes right back into the market oh well not our problem anymore. We got our asking price and can move on with our lives.

Apparently TTC doesn't always have everything listed. I wasn't able to search for the new style pages during Jester's Festival because apparently they hadn't been entered into the TTC database. I know they were at the guild traders because I went and looked myself and found the pages I was hoping to buy at almost every trader I checked, yet TTC showed absolutely nothing.

TTC only works if someone "opts in" and loads the information to its database. No one bothers to scan the store, no info shows up. One of my GMs does, the others don't. So at least some of the priced for Guild mates items didn't go to flippers.

Also, even if you have upload your own listings turned on, they do not get uploaded until after you reloadui or log out, possibly zone but I don't think so. So if someone posts a slew of items and then just hangs out, those items won't hit TTC unless another player comes along doing a search for them and they reloadui or log out.

There can be huge delays on when something gets posted and when it hits TTC.

People use the Tamriel Trader website to buy from every trader in the game if they have what they're looking for! It functions as the auction house search engine for every trader in the game. Find what you're looking for there!

When I want to buy something its the three alliance capitals that are the first places I go to look. I usually find what I am looking for there.

Also it does not matter, if TTC says the item is in secunda, I'd fast travel it

Ps. I sell at my two social guilds quite a lot too. Not even common items, things like furniture, things I could not have space to list them in my trader guild

Those nook and cranny traders are great for looking for deals on items. Yes I think the main city traders sell more because of higher traffic, but don’t sleep on the trader in places like southpoint and the outlaw refuge. Either way, if someone needs something a lot will search on TTC, find it, then go to that trader.

You can certainly do good business in remote locations. Especially with a convincing range of goods and fair prices. In my experience, this even secures a certain regular clientele.

In addition, it is easier to secure a Trader on remote location for a longer period of time, which customers really enjoy. There are some Guilds that can be found almost permanently in the same place and convince with good goods and prices. I don't even need to go to TTC, I travel there first. Most of the time, I'll find everything there.

I don't like the price dictation of the big trade Guilds. Certainly they can secure the most popular dealers week after week with various means that more or less correspond to the rules at horrific prices. But then I just don't go shopping there.

Speaking for me, I can clearly state that I primarily buy from small guilds that have employed remote Traders and I can only advise everyone to drop by and simply buy sketches or recipes that are still missing. These trips to the remote areas of Tamriel can be really worthwhile.

I check the website TCC or whatever, something like that. And if your stall has the cheapest price(or cheap enough for my liking) and has a somewhat fresh listing that I'm looking for, then I'm going there. I don't care where it's located as long as I actually have access to that location.

Yes. My merchant character makes a point of stopping at all guild traders to see if there are any bargains to be had. For lower value pieces I tend to buy things there and then if I think the price seems fair.

I often check guild traders that I happen to pass by, out in the "wild" or small towns, but when I want a specific item I go to the major hubs. I'm on PS4 and don't want to spend all my time searching for it.

Absolutely! Obviously they never have nearly as much traffic as main cities because the supporting infrastructure isn't there, but many people make regular trips to less-used guild traders. I myself like to shop around when buying stuff like crafting materials, because the main cities have enormously high turnover and the type of mat you want is typically sold out at major vendors of the not-joke prices, depending on sampling time.

Another strategy, unique to PC of course, is to shop around on TTC to find the right price for more unique goods. For example, today, after over a month of checking the site, I managed to buy this little number at an absolute steal.

"Outlaw Refuge in DLC Zone" is quite a far cry from a major trading city, but you've got to go where the goods are! This is also useful for pricey motifs, where the savings of going to a farther-off location is worth the extra time spent doing so.
