So do people actually buy from Guild Traders outside of Capital Cities?

On a side note, I am in two social guilds that get out of the way kiosks. I sell everything I list. Which shows the idea of having to be in a Tier 1 Trader in order to sell is a fallacy.

And, I don't have to pay dues.

Yes, I'll go to all zones about once a week for furniture recipes and unknown gear for sticker book. I'll apply price filter and scroll to see if I can collect anything. Takes me about 2 hours to do

When an item I need is listed at one of the smaller traders, or I'm too lazy to port and the price difference is only a few thousand gold, yes.

On PC people do use TTC, (with or without issues), on consoles, I've no idea!
This, now for standard stuff I tend to shop at Rawl, might jump to, Elden root, Vivec or Belkarth, last I say its ESO Walmart but expensive :) Wanted to write Amazon but its not the place to go for niece stuff.
TTC is there you go, no the 250 gold mother sorrow staff was bought bought by the one visiting the trader.
But for obscure stuff it rocks.

Some of us go into Outlaws Refuges on a daily basis, if not to fence or launder stolen goods then to get our daily free stuff from the silent Argonian. If you happen to be in an Outlaws Refuge anyway, you might as well check the guild trader there. At least in Vivec City the guild trader is conveniently located right by the exit. In other Outlaws Refuges you might have to go out of your way to reach the guild trader. :( EDIT: Although in many Outlaws Refuges the guild trader is beside the banker, which isn't a terrible place for them-- except that you might not need to use the banker, and the banker is often located far from the entrances.

I was going into the outlaw trader in Stormhold daily for years and only last week noticed there was a guild trader inside of it.

I bought a ton of incorrectly priced things from it.

If they have what I need at a cheaper price, then sure. They certainly dont get the same random foot traffic as a capital city. From a seller standpoint, you will not sell things as quickly are maybe even at the same prices you would in a major trading hub. That said, if it shows a good price on TTC, I will go to the deepest darkest outlaw refuge to buy it if I need to.

There are guild traders in other cities besides the capitol cities???

There are about 200 guild traders everywhere in Tamriel, many small towns have clusters of 3, every outlaw refuge has one and there are a slew of the scattered around near various wayshrines.

Edit: Almost forgot, there is also a trader in every keep in Cyrodiil, although you don't bid on those, you claim them after taking a keep.

I stop by out of the way traders all the time when I'm passing by one. I have a few broad filters in my recently searched tab that I run through. Mats for each crafting line, motifs, recipes, furnishing plans, weapons/armor/jewelry. I'm pretty sure there's other stuff that I'm not remembering, like I said it stays in my recently searched tab so I don't really need to think about it I just run through the list. It only takes a couple of minutes.

I'd say I buy at least something more often than not, so it's worth it. Outlaw refuges I don't always think to check, I'm usually pretty singularly focused in a refuge and just want get in and get out. The one refuge trader I do check often is the one in vivec, I sometimes use that refuge as a cut through to get from the apartment there to the crafting area, and part of the appeal to taking that route is being able to check the trader since I've found some good deals there in the past.

I'm not always looking for any exceptional deals, though it's always nice to find those, this is for the most part just my preferred method of stocking up on the things I would need to buy eventually anyway.

    This is on console btw.

Absolutely people do. You will see the big traders, the people who sell 30 million to 100 million a week, visit almost every trader in the game at least once a week.

Although on console this is different because it become far more "knowledge based" to find deals that you can flip.

As someone who often ramble around overland, I always check out the guild traders I come across out there. Just to check what they have. Made some good deals doing that.

If the price is right. Before this event I spent a month buying mats at good prices. Those traders on the beaten path are good for that

I use TTC and visit out of the way traders if they have the best deal on what I'm after, which happens pretty often. The main cities can be very overpriced. I also sometimes pop in if I'm passing by.

Sadly on PC, the out of the way traders don't have that great of prices anymore due to TTC. I see people selling for top dollar most of the time on them lately, which is unfortunate, as common items will not sell in those locations for top dollar, although rare items will sell anywhere of course.

I feel that a lot of folks think just because their guild scored a trader, they will be instant millionaires selling overpriced items, which in the end they just take a loss after losing their listing fee's. We try to at least inform our members that our trader is *not* tier 1, so don't expect to sell for those prices. You make a lot more turning 150-300 items over at reasonable prices than you will sitting on 30 items all month hoping to make a few more gold off each one.

I always check traders when I'm out questing, getting surveys or treasure maps.

The outlaw refuges I don't visit that often, unless I have a reason to.

I'll go ANYWHERE if a rare item is in stock there or if something expensive is available for a cheaper price.

But if it's a small purchase (e.g. need some Rubedite Ingots or something...) then I'll typically just bop into the large hubs and buy (assuming that it's not for a usurious price... which, nowadays, is getting harder to avoid).

By far the worst possible locations are the Thieves Guild traders. I will, in fact, buy something moderately more expensive than schlep into the sewers. Those are the traders of absolute last resort.

If TTC shows specific items I am looking for at a better price than the big city traders or an item sold out on the big city traders I will make the trip out to the smaller ones but not very often, this time a year with all the motifs increases the foot traffic to most guild traders.

I don't use any add-ons, so I'm using the TTC website on my iPad while playing ESO. The TTC website has listings for the consoles, although I guess it's up to the guilds to post their listings to the website. I know that players who aren't in a guild can post their listings to the TTC website, but I don't know what a guild on a console needs to do to most easily post all of their listing to the website.

Anyway, you might want to check the website to see if it helps you find items you're looking for.

If i am looking for some specific, i use TTC website to see who has the best prices. I rarely shop in the popular spots if i don't have to because the guilds in those spots often charge the higher prices. I haven't bought anything out of Mournhold in at least the last 20 times i bought off a trader, for example.

I also stop and shop and random traders for good deals sometimes that i sell at my own trader, which is in one of the top 10 spots. People under price and over price things all the time because they don't bother to do any research into what they are selling. I usually stop at the traders in outlaw refuges when i fence and have a quick peak.

I also use to sell in trade guilds in those locations. You don't sell a lot and you have to sell cheaper than primary and secondary locations but you can still make sales if your willing to take less for the items.

I almost always stop at the trader near a wayshrine I go to. Not necessarily to look for bargains but just see what they have. About half the time I will buy at least one item, sometimes more, even if I don't need them. Kind of my way of paying back from when I relied on those out of the way traders to sell all my stuff.

A while back our social guild got a trader in an outlaws post. I decided to post things in that trader and in my main trading guilds trader for the same prices. I stayed away from common items like base materials and I did better that week on the outlaws trader. Could be all kinds of reasons for that though and I do always price slightly below average.

Either way at least on PC you can bring in a million gold in a week easy on the out and about traders if you are willing to underprice common items some and not get to crazy on the rare items.

On PC with people using Tamriel Trade Center if you have a really rare item it doesn't matter where you are located someone will find you and usually really quick.

Just as an aside I posted some Witches Festival Writs on a couple of traders yesterday at what I thought was outrageous prices and they sold in a couple of hours. I have a few more I'm going to put in my trade guilds trader tonight at an even higher price and see how they do. Kinda kicking myself a bit because I know I trashed a lot of these a while back making room.

Absolutely! Stepping away from the fixed guild pricing of the big guilds, [snip] often gets you the items you're looking for at far, far more reasonable/realistic prices.

    [snip]

So, it might be more work to trader hop between all those outliers and outlaw refuges but, you will (eventually) find what you want, you won't pay ridiculous prices for it [snip]

    Here's to the small traders.

I've been in a few of the very elite trade guilds. None of the GMs in those guilds ever dictated prices nor even suggested prices for members. The only rule about selling one of them had was no selling in guild chat. The GMs in the guilds I was in worked hard to organize in game events to help us get that trader each week. They were not purchasing gold to maintain the guild.
Players can charge more at the prime locations because of location. That is the only advantage there is between traders. More traffic means more potential buyers.

when I'm going in a shopping spree I check every hub that has at least 2 sellers. I start with more remote cities and graduate to capitols. the only time I check the random out in a wilds or outlaw refuge sellers is as a target of opportunity. I'm already there, doing something else - so might as well. I used to include them in my shopping sprees originally, but they rarely seem to have decent selection of anything, so I stopped going there to save time. I know that sometimes they have good deals, but my shopping sprees already take up pretty much entirety of my play session so...

that said, my shopping sprees tend to be for my personal "filling in the gaps in whatever I'm collecting" use. I'm reasonably sure that arbitrators are going to those places as well to get occasional treasures to resell. more power to them since they are willing to make an effort, I'm not.

I leave major spots for last as they tend to have the best selection, but also at higher prices. so they are where I grab whatever I haven't been able to find in smaller places.

when I'm just looking for one thing and do not mind paying a bit extra, I don't bother shopping around as much. I check the 2 guilds I'm in at the banker first and foremost and then if I haven't found what I'm looking for, check capitol cities. if I have a bit of extra time, I may or may not swing by Windhelm, Stormhold, Vivec, Hollow City and and Belkarth. Rawl'ka is missing on this list for a reason. it does tend to have good selection, but it also seems to have the highest prices of a bunch all too often. so I check in on full shopping sprees, but not abbreviated ones.
