Huge population drop in Cyrodiil. Maybe you should enable proc sets again?

Cyrodiil is far more enjoyable now that we don’t have people running around with 50k health and dealing 25k free damage they 5 seconds.
Proc sets were fine before the many @ZOS_BrianWheeler buffs, but have become a must have since he buffed them.
I wish they’d carry it over to bgs and ic because those are unenjoyable with all the proc—- running around.
People are too busy farming brp and doing dailies.

Oh yes Cyro population that currently manages to lock all campaigns even earlier than usually dropped dramatically. Who doesn't remember the locked+1 Blackreach....

Seriously, the population went up insanely since procs got disabled, a ton of old PvPlers came back just for that. The campaigns are locked earlier than ever and the previously dead Blackreach is still 3 bars to locked, when it was just 1 or 2 bars before.

No, the population has gone down considerably, and it keeps going down. It is not factually accurate to claim otherwise.

Yes, having my best time ever, is in Cyrodil most days now.
Troll builds don't work anymore, guild has an rule if you go up against tower trolls or rock humpers and die, well its your problem as you are should ignore them unless specific settings like getting an emperor or have to secure keep for scroll.
Bomber, they have an place, granted they work better and an first strike followed by an large group.

Ball groups are much harder to kill now than a week ago. They have adapted and troll builds are just as troll as they ever were, there are just much fewer options to counter them now. Balance is just as bad now as it ever was.

The main reason Cyrodiil was so popular during the no proc testing phase was mostly due to the double alliance points. Now that they removed it Cyrodiil has become extremely "meh".

Have u been in Cyrodill or that's just apinion from dungeon runner? After there was no double AP and before double XP cyrodill wait time was still 50+ people. So how exactly your scientific expertise can explain that?

Non of pvp players cry about fact that proc are gone. PVE players cry, same players that are part of proc set ball groups that are there just for AP so they can buy gold rings. They are with 0 interest in fair PVP. All they need is AP grind. These are people that are to bad to grind AP in BG.

Many many players have upped and left. Just pay attention to your friends list and look at those who are no longer logging into the game. The cyro population had crashed prior to the Jester fest but CP grinding is still a likely contributor to the dearth of players right now. But that alone doesn't explain the big dropoff in gamers who are just not there anymore.

Beware of relying on forum posts or zone chats for finding a consensus. They will always create something of an echo chamber. The people who are really unhappy have simply stopped logging in. Naturally this means negative opinions are having less say in those discussions about it.

Personally, I feel the current situation is no more flawed than the previous proc meta. However, the lack of players online is a bigger fun-killer than even the laziest of toxic proc builds.

I kinda like the no-proc Cyrodiil.

I don't much care for being one of only about 15 EP players in Gray Host during primetime though. It's been rough on PS4 NA lately, population-wise, for EP.

DC was pop-locked though, so that's fun... I guess... Until they take the map, then I don't know what they do to pass the time.

    Red/yellow=br & blue=gh

All I see on both sides is pve farming AP & avoiding fights purposely by one siding a campaign.

A player's account faction change should cost $50 with a 6 month cd, and campaign swapping should be 500k gold minimum.

You disabled proc sets because you said it was making PvP more fun. Now that the population in Cyrodill has dropped massively and nobody is having fun, maybe you should enable those sets again?

And yet, its still laggy as ever and most ppl are playing stamcro or stamden so they can survive in the lagg, cause the classes are pretty braindead /rant.

I've stopped going, but mostly because I'm just sick of having my gear and build disabled by the developers. I'm done rebuilding my character every other week to accommodate their endless experiments at our expense. Enough is enough, and I've reached my breaking point in that regard.

Besides, they didn't even get rid of "procs" where it is the most unbalanced, which is in battlegrounds where all it takes a series of "procs" to go off to instantly kill you. And I've noticed a huge drop off in battleground populations as well. My wait times have easily tripled since the last update.

The problem is their PvP design is just all over the place, and they cater to the wrong population, being those people who want to be able to kill everyone quickly and shut out all defensive play styles and turn PvP into more of numbers game than it already is. And if they keep listening to those people, PvP is going to continue to decline.

They've turned off sets once. And haven't turned them back on. There's been no every other week change to gear sets. And the extensive skill testing was 6 months ago. This is hardly a constant back and forth. They made a change and that change is going to last a patch. No back and forth.

They dramatically nerf and buff builds on this game left and right all the while expecting players to "adapt" to their endless experimentations. To suggest otherwise is simply a denial of reality. They might as well just do away with their Public Test Server at this point because it's obvious at this stage they use the official one for that purpose. And this latest example of them disabling certain sets in certain PvP activities is just a recent example in an endless list of examples of them chopping away at player builds then adding new builds only for them to chop away later. It has gotten ridiculous and has been going on nonstop for years now.

This game needs a class change and an armor refund system at a bare minimum if they are going to continue to treat this game like a testing ground for new ideas. Because I (and many others) are done wasting our time and money rebuilding our characters after every update because the developers can't make up their minds.

This is the price we have to pay that ZOS doen't do a gear reset once a year like most other mmos do. Look at wow or swtor, there all your gear will be obsolete with every new expansion. You have one gear set per class per role, that's much easier to balance than literally hundreds of sets (growing over the years) and skills that you can mix and match together as you like.

I'm glad that ZOS doesn't jump on the bandwagon making all gear useless once a year, and I'm willingly pay the price.

Yes, sometimes the wild swings back and forth are annoying, but the alternative would be much more frustrating.

This is a false choice though.

I would abhor a WoW-style planned obsolescence but its opposite isn't arbitrary, rollercoaster "balancing."

You can change an existing meta using only small, targeted adjustments IF your developers are talented enough and know what they're doing.

That we do not get that typed of balancing means that either the rollercoaster is the point (which is nihilistic and short-sighted) and/or that the ones in charge of game balance don't understand the game well enough to properly anticipate the results of their actions. Unfortunately, over the last year or so there is evidence for both of those options.

EP left? Could of fooled me on PS4 NA. :D
I'm on PC-NA, and there are like...four of us. Ha ha!

PvP does seem at an all time low. The battleground wait times as I said earlier have at least tripled since the last update. I wouldn't know about Cyrodil, as I'm not about to go invest into building a character around a few select sets only to have them made irrelevant again in a couple of weeks.

Cyrodiil busier and Battlegrounds emptier according to my guild mate, unsure if true.

I enjoy no-proc Cyro, but I long for the return of proc sets so I may resume building interesting builds and showing them off to my fellow PvP'ers.

Regardless [snip], no-proc Cyro is flavorless and boring.

    Same sets.
    Same builds.
    Same playstyle.

A Cyro without unique creativeness has proven a major deterrent to me.

On Xbox EU, Cyro is mostly the same population at prime time, despite there being double xp events.

To be fair, even the bad players that fall over now they don't have training wheels have stuck around.
