THEY ARE CAMPING EVERY BOSS IN EVERY DUNGEON this game has. You cannot find ONE dungeon in this game right now without 10 templar bots in tutorial gear spear spamming the boss. NOT ONE.

    This just isn't true.

In fact, I just went through a dungeon in Stormhaven - the name escapes me at the moment - and there were NO bots and barely any players camping the boss. I killed the boss 3x, got a blue, and got out of there.

    You're being slightly dramatic, imo.

Does it really matter if it is every dungeon or just a lot of dungeons? The bottom line is that it is enough dungeons that it spoils one's willingness to even bother trying to enter a dungeon and find out.

I'm fortunate to have only run into 1 bot whilst playing, like many others who probably started since early access and are now in vet zones.

You are fortunate. I also started with early access, 30 minutes before early access was suppose to start in fact - since ZOS opened the servers 1 hour ahead of schedule. Now it took me forever to lock in all my names and then redo all the characters the way I wanted them to look so I didn't start playing until much later in the day, however, the first dungeon I went into on the AD faction had 4 bots camping the boss.

The bot issue started so quickly that I can only image they had beta access and were able to prepare their code / tools in advance of early access launch.

It's a suggestion based on the fact that 6-7 maybe more people have told him they think he is a bot.

So no, it like telling a girl not to walk around naked in a prison yard full of rapists.

Okay, so is it unlike suspecting that a young kid is up to no good because he is walking with a bag of skittles, an ice tea, and a hoody pulled over his head?

The point is that he shouldn't be forced to change his play style because others are botting.

You can come up with examples all you like, would you suggest that that same kid walk around like that during a riot? Chances are his motives for being there may get mistaken.

It's really not rocket science. Don't want to get banned? Don't behave like a bot during a bot fest. That way no one will report you as a bot. Or do... I don't really care.

But you are now nit picking.

So now people are being forced to alter their style of play because of the bot fumble by ZOS?

Isn't that like telling a girl "Don't dress provocatively if you don't want to be ***"?

ZOS does not ban anyone who is in front of his screen showing minimum signs of human behavior.

Why the hell are people making a big deal out of nothing? Forced to alter their style of play? Jeez stop the drama bro.

I don't think ZOS is banning these bots, I think they simply port them out of the dungeon. The bots belong to paying customers and those customers pay monthly, so I don't think they are in any hurry to ban these accounts. They simply provide the illusion of being banned.

Once the bots are ported out or kicked, you will find them grinding away in a few hours in the same dungeon or in another. A ban would be too easy for ZOS, but losing money never is.

Overall, the Gold Farming companies and ZOS seem to be working together in the name of the all mighty dollar. If they do actually ban an account, I suspect it will be after it has reached a month of activity, so they collect an additional $15 bucks. This allows ZOS to come out on top like Hero's and the Gold Farming companies keep the account long enough to turn a nice profit.

You can understand why some people may not like it?
Yes, ofc. If people ask me, I explain them what I'm doing...
Personally I would try and chat and ask what you were doing. Maybe I misunderstood what you were saying but if some people are telling you they think your a bot then it is safe to assume that even more are reporting you.
"Lone bot" - 50% of time i hear this or something like that when i reach public dungeon boss in reaper's march.

I'm not nitpicking. I'm making a statement that having to alter your behavior because of bad apples is not a solution.

GMs should be able to easily tell if he's a bot or an ATK player, regardless of if idiots report him as a bot. He need not alter his behavior.

    Dumb glorified I quit post.

Bots are the bane of all MMOs, this "omg they did something and it didn't fix the entire problem with that single brush stroke in a game only 3 weeks old, I R TEH QUIT AND MY WIFE COME WITH ME!!!11!!" junk doesn't help anyone.

Yes you have a right to make it clear you're not happy with bots and the system could be changed to help stop some of it, but no they are never going to go away. This is an MMO, there will always be bots.

Solution: Find out where all the gold sellers live, hire mercenaries to infiltrate their homes, murder them all in their sleep, seize their bank accounts, the end.

Make a real example out of them :D

Boss campers are just a detrimental to the game as the bots themselves. They both crowd in and do the exact same thing. If you join in a bot fest and don't adhere to the GMs suggestions, by moving back from the pack, then you deserve any coloratal damage as a result.

For anyone defending these occurrences are defending the existence of the bots themselves. To claim that there are none or to deny that there is a botting issue is utterly ridiculous.

That was not my solution, it was an observation. If people think you are a bot based on your behavior maybe you should wonder why. Bot problem or not I would say the same thing.

I stated in another thread that I would dare guess that botting is how some of them got to VR, in the first place.

We are the only ones not dealing with bots, since VR areas are (at the moment) bot free.
You dont have to believe me, level up and see for yourself.

    Nobody is defending bots btw.

How does that stop them from using a VPN service somewhere else that makes them appear to be in a different country? I knew someone who used a VPN service in England to get England only access to the last Summer Olympics via his PC. So it's really not hard to do.

Side effects of reading messages on forums can cause nausea, head aches, spontaneous fits of rage, urination due to intense laughter, and sometimes the death of your monitor or other object in throwing range. Your correct about using a VPN and proxies to get around regional bans. If you work for any large companies that have datacenters, you will find many customers buy up servers in the US and other countries just for this purpose. Just do a whois on any of the gold seller websites, you will find they are mostly hosted under US datacenters.
