Option to turn off other quests untill main story is done

But yeah - being able to pick a start when you make a new character, and being able to click an option that will highlight the particular "main quest" you're pursuing; would both be good options.

(I know that major quests have a special icon above them. But I'm picturing something where you could say "I want to do the Original Main Quest!" and the icon colors would change & the quest log would give you pointers as to the Right Order & Where To Go. One Tamriel's "you can go anywhere and do anything" is cool & useful, but it's made the game a mess narratively, especially now that we have all those DLC & Chapters. Sure, we know how it went, but I feel bad for new players.)

they really need to make a toggleable story mode where story quests require that you at least have the prerequisite quests finished before offering the next, and at least require you to finish your alliance's main story and the main storyline before offering DLC and chapter quests.

What we really need is the option to abandon Soulshriven main quest if that way the quest marker will disappear too. Only one of my characters has finished it, and another has it almost started, the rest haven't even touched it.

The quest marker is very distracting.

Isn’t this coming with the Chapter? Choose your tutorial etc? Or is it already coming with the upcoming DLC? Don’t remember what they told us during the Blackwood announcement.

I think it's still best to stagger the main story quests as you level up. Traveling around for some of them is easier later on and trying to do some of the later quests with only a few skills and none morphed as well as with limited gear must be difficult - in all respects I'm talking about new players rather than low level alts with crafted sets and 810CPs. Also, won't some of the other quests feel a bit mundane once you've completed the main story questline?

I'm a huge fan of One Tamriel and always have been, but when they introduced it I was disappointed that they'd not kept the staggered questline for the main story. In fact, with over 40 characters only one of them has actually finished it thus far, the others are all at various stages.
