Main quest was originally designed to be given out every 5th level you leveled up as zones was leveled.
This was changed with one Tamriel so the prophet then call you then you exit even if he says he will contact you later.

We need:
More journal entries.
Colours or different icons added to the prologue quest givers.
They should never have been given the same icon as the main zone story line quests; it just gets new people lost.

I prefer to go in chronological order. Then its Morrowind-Summerset-Elsweyr-Greymoor in that order. That way its consistent and npcs remember me from the previous chapters and storylines.
A special "dlc" icon would also help so you know which quests start off dlc. Or move all those npcs to the alliance main hub..

I agree. Every time I enter Dagger Fall or any main alliance city I always hear, "You dont know how long I've been looking for you!" Thats for Wrothgar, plus all the black arrows everywhere. Either move the quest givers or change the icon to something else.
Its just a pet peeve for me, but it is annoying.
It would be so nice if you could just turn off all dlc and chapter quests untill the main story is done. I can only imagine how confusing it is for new players to hear from the Prophet that Abnur Tharn is a traitor then see him standing in the mage guild with a quest.. your quest log is practically filled up with dlc quests when you walk around the first hub! Imo it is very immersion breaking. Leave me alone Stuga!

Add my vote for this too. I have a new character who just got asked to go to the Harborage (to save Lyris who just the other day was left in Coldharbour) and I was in Davons Watch being hunted by Stuga, with Lyris in the Fighters Guild, Tharn comnenting he's been waiting for me in the Mages Guild where Vanus wants to send me off to save his friend, and there's a paper for the Ravenwatch contract in Mages too. Finding Valeste was annoying. Quest markers for the quiet guy who hangs out in taverns is there too. And that's just inside Davons Watch. Outside has a ton too.
A new player would be both confused and probably dissatisfied with the game since all these quests take you out of Stonefalls and on a brand new character, the travel would be brutal.

Imperial City is after the main story Molag Bal, you should do that storyline and the dungeons then Orsimir (Forget the DLC name) to round out the story before doing Morrowind.
Also please let us choose where our new characters start already!

Is that not an option in the settings?
If not, on PC, there are addons for that.
I agree that it would be helpful if they moved or hid the NPCs, especially the ones who contradict earlier quests. It's really jarring to have the Prophet telling you how important it is to find someone and how difficult it will be to get to them in Coldharbour and then find they're hanging out in the town and seemingly fine.Tsar_Gekkou wrote: »It'd be cool if we had an option to turn off all quest markers and related npcs.

There's an option to hide the quest markers, but it doesn't hide the NPCs or stop them bothering you. It just means there's no way to tell who is a quest giver until after you speak to them.

Only one quest shows at the top right, no matter how many you have in queue. So it doesn't exactly distract from playing the game.
