    Nice topic!

My first race was Khajiit and I love my pg, a NB stamina...
Now, after 6 years I have the same character but now he is a Dark Elf.

I don't like the passives for Khajiit now but... it is my favorite race in game from day one.
I like very much Dark Elf and Redguard too, I don't like Bosmer and Argonian (aesthetically) and Orc it needs some modification... Other races are... boring...

In the beginning I made four Pet-Sorcs, it was the easiest and most convenient at the time. Now I look at other aspects when creating new characters.

in Oblivion I Chose argonian. Then I drifted to dark elf..then back to argonian. They have, asthetically at least,Remained my favourite race. Lore wise however,I prefer both Dunmer and Khajiit.

Started with argonian when I didn't even know what elder scrolls was during daggerfall. Switched to khajiit during the same game and stayed khajiit ever since. I don't change because of passives at all.

Although claw fighting is my absolute favorite playstyle, just can't do that in eso.

That one khajiit obsessed with werewolf behemoth and vampire lord. Lady Thorn is bae, dont @ me.
    Werewolf behemoth=vampire lord>blood scion>werewolf>vampire.

Breton, my starting race (by starting, I mean in the original TES 3 Morrowind...and also in ESO) is still my favorite. I’ve played most of the races, but among my many alts, I have the most Bretons, Altmers, and Nords. Redguards and Dark Elves come next. Imperials are OK. I don’t like Bosmers, and I can’t seem to stick with Argonians or Khajiits. I don’t think I’ve ever made an Orc character.

Breton #1 because refer to Celtic/Germanic/Frankish people, most beautiful race, best broken passives in TES Games and descendants of first humans before Atmoran.

I really like Khajiit because i really like assassin build and High Elf because of their history they (secretly) rule(d) Nirn :)

Main character is High Elf, favorite character (playstyle) is Khajiit and I have 8 bretons over 2 accounts !

I started to admire Altmers & Aldmeri Dominion while playing Skyrim :)

And they are still my favourite race <3

It's funny i had the exact opposite experience. I try to like High Elves but the Aldmeri Dominion puts me right off. Even though Queen Ayrenn's pretty cool in this version, I'm really not a big fan of the uppity-racial-superiority vibe the Altmer give off. Can't help but dislike them.

Before eso played 3, 4, and 5. Argonians, dark elves, nords, bretons, wood elf, imperial, orcs, high elves, redguard, and khajit.

After eso. Argonians, dark elves, nords, high elves, imperial, khajit, orcs, wood elf, bretons, redguard. This game really made me dislike lots of races I used to like. On the flip side it made me like high elves and Khajiit.

Almost exactly this for me also. Minus argonian and khajiit. Haven't tried either of those two yet....yet...😉

Bretons were my first race and still love them! Also love Bosmer, Imperials, Nords, Dunmer and Redguards. Argonians, Orcs and Altmer can be hit or miss for me some of them are great and some of them just annoy me. And then there are Khajiits I find most of them to be annoying but there are a few I don’t mind. Khajiits have some let’s say be nice here and say ‘eccentric’ fans. It is a bit weird, creepy and cringey when they talk like a Khajiit in zone chat and on the forums lol.

I've always preferred Dunmer and Nords. My preference has gone back and forth depending on what Elder Scrolls game I'm playing.

When eso launched my main was (and still is) Dunmer Dragon Knight. If I made him right now, it would be Nord instead because I tank more now. We'll see how the upcoming changes affect balance, but it looks like I might stick with Dunmer after all.

Back when I started playing TES, knowing nothing about the lore, I chose an Imperial. Charismatic diplomats, cosmopolitan traders, and good with the only weapon that doesn't make you look like either a brainless barbarian or some cheap cutthroat - swords. Sounded just like my cup of tea.
Playing the game, learning more about Morrowind, and how it used to function "on its own", I was happy about my choice.

Knowing more about the other races now, I instantly chose an Imperial again for Oblivion. I loved it ! Returning to serve my emperor one last time (albeit in another incarnation of my character), discovering just HOW important the Empire is for Tamriel (Dragonfires!), fighting in and for the true way the Empire should be, giving the Amulet of Kings to the true heir of Uriel Septim, and witnessing the Avatar of Akatosh fulfill his pact with my people. Just loved it !

Of course I played an Imperial again in Skyrim. And of course I sided with the Imperials. All the reason the Stormcloaks gave me for wanting "independence" was some wharbling that amounted to "I want to kill who I like when I like, and do as I like whenever the fancy strikes me to, and they won't let me ! And all the rest of Tamriel is stupid, anyway ! Oh, and Talos !" Gosh, grow up !

[...]Playing Nord in Skyrim is just a no-brainer. [...]
That's true. Because the average Nord has next to no brain. Or at least they don't like to use it very much. ;) Sorry, couldn't resist. I'm afraid Skyrim ruined most Nords for me, and ESO didn't help to improve that again.
I'm sure the whole Dovakhiin thing made slightly more sense when playing a Nord, but this one time TES failed in capturing my heart with their main story, so no loss there.

Then ESO came. I was seriously irritated that I had to create a character so I could get to the crown store to buy the Imperial edition to create the character I wanted to play. Maybe I missed something, but that seemed like the only way to me to get an Imperial ??
I'm sad to see the Empire in shambles, far from its ideal of being a (positively) unifying force for Tamriel. But meeting people like Varen, Abnur Tharn (astonished how many people don't get that character, aside from him being difficult to handle), Prefect Calo, General Renmus and so on, I know I'm still right where I belong.

Although... From Morrowind to Skyrim all the TES titles didn't give me much about the Khajiit besides "thieves, tricksters, and skooma".
I'd say ESOs greatest achievement - in my book - was fleshing out the culture of the Khajiit in such a glorious way that I now love them just as much as the Imperials.

But still, once the next TES game comes, and I'll have to choose once more the one hero that will save Tamriel, it will be a true Imperial.

PS: No, game mechanics don't matter to me. As it should be in any good TES game, but alas, ESO being an MMO I see why it is mentioned here and there.

Oi, made a text wall. Short:
    Morrowind: Imperial
    Oblivion: Imperial
    Skyrim: Imperial
    ESO: Imperial
    next one: Imperial

    Imperials are just good.

In TES 3-5 my main was always a Dunmer, later I played in each game Altmer and Bosmer as alt. In ESO I started with Bosmer for the first time as my main and a Dunmer necromancer is my only alt, but I can't really say why I did it.

Argonian then. Argonian now. I only have one character. I always play an Argonian in Elder scrolls. In my mind my characters are all part of the same lineage. One which produces the occasional legendary hero who saves the world and makes a fortune, separated by several generations with none of the heroic destiny but about all of the same luck, losing everything and inevitably forgetting their prestigious heritage. The next hero emerges from the nadir, usually in the form of imprisonment, or worse.
