Godslayer

Dps will be the weakest it has been in over 2 years and with console barely able to clear godslayer as it sits with dps now what are the devs going to do to combat this when cp 2.0 gets released and dps is down 10%
To put into perspective magcro is 108k on live 98k on pts (with 100% major vuln and brittle) take away the 10kish that adds and were sitting at the highest dps being 88k, stamcro is 114k on live (melee) and on pts 94k minus the 10k from major vuln and brittle 84k... we haven't seen numbers that low since pre elsewyr with console clearing gs with less than a minute to spare what are the devs expecting once cp 2.0 comes into effect?

It was being done two years ago, so people will manage.

it is supposed to be a challenging achievement mind you.. I do 115k on my magcro on live atm, but I'm willing to shave a bit off. Plus there are tons of support sets that your lower tier DPS should try putting on to help support the cannons.

The trial wasn't even out 2 years ago lol.
First Godslayer wasn't until 4? 5? months after it came out, and was on PC/NA, no clue when the first one on console was.

    How do your calculations work?

The dummy this patch has vuln and brittle 100% of the time, why do you double count?

    P. S. The setups and testing isn't complete so we need to wait and see. As I see it, the weapon and max stam orbs are completely useless.

In essence, plenty still to test.

You know this thread is about console, right?

Xbox-NA got their first Godslayer in Feb 2020 and PS4-NA got their first in November 2020. I don't know about the EU server for both, if they've even achieved it.

But neither of those times are "two years ago".

I'm still new to forums I have no idea how to tag yalls posts like yall are but I'm going off dps numbers being tested on pts I'm not sure what you mean by double counting? but what im saying is dps is less than it was when elsewyr was released by a significant margin on pts console only has 3 godslayer clears from the time sunspire has been released until now and every single one of them just barely scraped by on the time so with dps being nerfed 10%-20% across the board how is anyone on console expected to clear and get the title when the absolute best groups on console just barely got it with how dps is now

This is how ZOS makes the game more fun, moving things out of reach for all but the top 1% who stream and post their awesomeness.. Nerfs will keep most people from getting anywhere near the results pre-nerf. Yeah yeah play more.better etc. But the truth is dps will be weaker in the next patch, hard things will become impossible for all but the hardest core elite guilds.

The top 1% barely cleared it as it is on console after this patch not even the top 1% will be able to achieve this on console...

It's already only the best of the best (top 1% of the top 1% of players) and it's putting them in a position where potentially even they can't. The time for godslayer is absurd on console since we don't have a single button click to optimize between each boss and trash pull. Godslayer runs on PC are just over 20 minutes but I think the fastest console clear was like 27-28 minutes and that was during thrassian patch. The first one squeaked by with like 10 seconds to spare. I don't know if the nerfs put it completely out of reach as so little testing has even been possible given the penetration bug that was just fixed this week but it's certainly disheartening.

Tbh it’s become a little too easy. We don’t even have to do 3 portal phases on Nahvi anymore, and there’s only one set of tombs on Lokke (2 and 3 are skipped). That achievement used to have more meaning, now it’s something that can be done in a weekend if you get a few experienced players together.

GS will still be possible (I believe for both console and PC), but will feel more like getting it in Dragonhold patch, when 80k DPS on Yolna was considered high.

On pc no arguments my argument is for console users and the sole reasoning is every console gs that has been achieved has just barely scraped it

Have you adjusted your build and your group setup to the changes when testing dps?
I'm pretty sure if changes come as they are on pts right now, dps will be higher than currently on live, as soon as people adjust to the new meta.

Yes there has been a lot of testing done on pts already and metas have already been figured

The 21m meta isn't going to change while it has major force and brittle. To ignore crit is to ignore 20% and 10% crit damage respectively.
Throw in minor force and you've got +40% crit damage basically for free.
No other stat rewards you so much on the 21m.

As for in content that's a different matter. With the CP changes and the max health changes I think sustain sets like pFG are pretty much dead and we'll be shifting to all out dps.
If people want to stick with the crit meta then they will need to make sure warhorn and brittle uptimes are solid, otherwise they might be better off running pure damage sets. That said, I expect most people will continue to follow the top tier groups and run siroria + medusa/sorrow with shadow because those groups DO have good uptimes.

There is going to be a dps loss for sure though, in content and parses.

Fair enough, I don’t play on my console account enough to comment. Maybe the answer is to give console better tools like gear swapping and encounter logging :)

The question is not if it can be done theoritcally or not.

The question is: do the players who try it in the next patch have the same or lower difficulty as in the past? Everyone will agree that the level of difficulty of content should not increase but rather decrease and people who did it in the past can focus on new content.

It is just unfair to make things more difficult for the players who did not achieved it yet. The success story of MMOs is to make older content available to more players and not to less players.

That means that a damage decrease should NEVER happen. NEVER. Damage should go up and new content should be made more difficult to give a challenge to players who are experienced with the old content.

If there will be a damage increase than the developers break the success story of eso. Nobody wants to play older content with increased difficulty. Experienced players ask for new content and new players want a fair chance of the same or lower difficulty of old content.

of course I meant a damage DECREASE will break the success story. Sorry for the typo.

I remember this kind of discussion when they nerfed Healing Springs, Orb and other sources of healing a year ago, people were doomsaying content would be impossible to clear etc. - guess what, this will work the same way: people need to adapt to the changes as good as possible (and players on that level will) and eventually it will work out.

Finding more effective ways to heal was one thing, finding ways to increase DPS, has already been done in every conceivable way, now it will just be 10-20% less. That is not something that can just be done through - get gud and play more better - it is just lost.

The issue with your statement is overhealing has always been massive just look at logs. Dps is another story especially when the best of the best on console are just barely scraping by on time with a 20% nerf (10% on specific classes) that's a lot of group dps gone now for teams that just barely got it (all 3 console clears) even to them it would be impossible on this patch coming and they are the best of the best on console

If I recall correctly the fastest ever console Godslayer so far was finished at a time of ~27:30, in peak Thrassian meta. Take that away and you'll probably never get faster than that unless DPS goes up again. The average GS on console is around 29 minutes, a 10% dps nerf is huge.

PC folks really have no real idea of how much of a hardmode console is, hey?

You've got people going on about how it'll take sub-23mins no matter the platform when console is only just scraping by in the 30 minutes because we don't have addons telling us when to press buttons and have to actually learn how our skills work, especially without timers. (Don't get me wrong, I'd LOVE to have all this, but fact is it DOES make the game way easier for PC people than it is on console).

People going on about how it's become too easy and the title has no meaning and you can get a group together and do it on the weekend, okay well, get a team together and do it vanilla: no one in the team does it with any addons on PC whatsoever then come back and tell me how "easy" it is.
